Very poor customer service at Screwfix…

Very poor customer service at Screwfix Sevenoaks.

I visited the store on 3rd April and was spoken to in a rude and condescending manner while trying to process a refund. I was told that a refund to my card was not possible and that only store credit could be offered.

However, another member of staff then processed the refund to my card immediately without any issue, which clearly showed that the information I was originally given was incorrect.

The inconsistency between staff, combined with the way I was spoken to, caused unnecessary frustration and stress.

I raised a formal complaint, but despite acknowledging my concerns, Screwfix have refused to offer any goodwill gesture and have simply dismissed the matter following their internal review.

Very disappointing experience and not the level of service I would expect.

I would welcome Screwfix contacting me to resolve this properly.

Absolutely shocking customer service

Absolutely shocking customer service. Ordered an item for £380 last Thursday promised delivery sat so stayed in all day to be told it would be Tuesday and no been told it’s Thursday so have cancelled order as needed it for a job. And now have to spend another £380 and wait for my refund. Never again will I spend money with this company

Stopped using them as much

Stopped using them as much, hardly ever now as their app is a nightmare and always requires signing in. The stores are basically an Argos set up and the customer service is all but lost. Not really want I'm looking for, and the prices are not any cheaper from all cuts. I go in from time to time to get the odd bit but nothing like I use to. The customer service in toolstation is much better.

Terrible app and online services

Terrible app and online services. The app is difficult to use. When you search for an item, sometimes it doesn't come up or it'll take you directly to an item without giving you options. I'm constantly being logged out. I was logged out of my business account and couldn't log back in. Tried to change passwords but still couldn't log back in. Contacted customer services and did what they said but still nothing. I then had to create a new account

Stock levels are shocking

If you're keeping hardly any stock these days, at least have the option to sort by 'In stock'. Screwfix and B&Q will be swallowed up by Amazon if you're not going to keep stock because Amazon can deliver quicker and cheaper to my front door. I'm happy to come to you but only if I know you have stock TODAY.

An utter failure

Ordered an 'out of stock ' item on Monday and was advised it would be ready for collection Tuesday. Did not arrive Tuesday, and so was advised to call Wednesday. Still not arrived, so I cancelled order.

Won't publish negative reviews about their own brands

And yet another business that shows “customer reviews”, but when you try to warn other buyers about a genuinely bad product, they refuse to publish your review because “it does not meet the guidelines”. How does mentioning that a drill bit is not properly aligned or straight, and that it breaks very easily, fail to meet the following guidelines?

Please read our guidelines below:
- Keep your review focused on the product
- Avoid writing about customer service queries, contact us instead if you have issues requiring immediate attention
- Refrain from mentioning competitors or the specific price you paid for the product

I have stopped shopping with Screwfix due to their new Points rewards!
I See Zero reward . Just a pretty ill conceived marketing tool to push up your spend as the end of the month approaches!

I will happily take Cashback (all stoped now).. or REALLY buy my loyalty and give me Avios or Nectar points ..

For me your Points for Pants is a flop!!

A few of the lads I speak to agree.. so if you see your sales numbers going down.. look internally.. dont blame everyone else...

Ollerton store is great

Ollerton store is great, staff are on point and super helpful, could not ask for more if you tried. Here daily and they never fail on customer service or support.

Problems…

Putting purchases in my boot they damaged my car...then when I got home I found they had put incorrect items in the boots ...they emailed their ho re the car damage that could take days and then I have all the trouble to get it sorted and re the incorrect items they say I have to do the 25 mile round trip at my expense to change as they can't deliver. Can't speak to the branch as they won't give me a tel number so could go and find they don't have stock...terrible system
Had a request from screwfix following this post asking for details but they have had full details sent several times with delivery receipts I have and they say they haven't had them...maybe just a delay tactic and they say they take 48 hours to reply to each email..what an awful company and lack of customer care.

Ignored communication and inconsiderate staff.

I live opposite a newly opened ScrewFix in Wickford, Essex. It is bad enough the building of these units caused considerable disruption to the people who lived there, none of us wanted them but this was overruled. But since opening a member of staff rides a motorcycle and he seems intent on turning it on leaving it running for several minutes before deciding to ride off. We have a child at home and as this often happens at night he is woken up by this. I have contacted ScrewFix directly on two occasions in the last month, neither of which have been responded to.

Refuse to shop somewhere where the company and staff are so ignorant and dismissive.

Everything I buy from Screwfix is cheap…

Everything I buy from Screwfix is cheap quality. I bought kitchen cabinet handles that went rusty within 4 weeks, saw blades that shattered first time of using, screws that snap, rust, heads that just fail, no nonsense brands are useless. It should be called no work

Great service as usual

Great service as usual. Went to the screwfix on Sutton Road in Maidstone. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. You dont get that kind of consistent service at a merchant very often. This morning was a testament to this. An older guy helped me to my car with two tubs of tile adhesives. Thank you again!

Outstanding service and help at Haddington Screwfix

On Friday the 27th March, my wife and I were travelling on the A1 in our motorhome when without any warning the large roof window disintegrated. And just to added to the stress,it started to rain.

I went to Screwfix in Haddington,East Lothian and with the excellent service and help from Ryan we got the large gap in the roof sealed. He had no hesitation in getting us a suitable ladder to get to the roof. There was no other way to get to it. He stood by in case we needed anything else. Without his help, there could have been serious water damage.

5 Star Service from Gorseinon (Swansea) Branch

The team in the Gorseinon (Swansea) branch are excellent! They always look after me and have exactly what I need when I need it. I use them as one of our main merchants for work and their service and communications are second to none, well done and thanks!

This shop refuses to recycle batteries they sell

I was shocked that now days this supplier refuses to recycle lithium batteries they are selling, more, of their own brand Erbauer. Unbelievable

Substandard Product
