Useless and all about the money. Do not trust the guaranteed before noon delivery

I ordered a gearbox latch and deadbolt with guaranteed next-day delivery before noon because my door won’t shut properly. I’ve got children and dogs at home, so this wasn’t just a convenience—it’s urgent.

Now it’s Friday, and I’ve been told the £5 delivery charge will be refunded, but I won’t receive the order until Monday. To make matters worse, Parcel Force hasn’t even received the parcel yet, so the delay isn’t even on their end.

Really disappointed with how this has been handled—no real effort to resolve the situation or offer a proper alternative. I won’t be using this service again.

Service très décevant

Service très décevant. Deux fois, Screwfix a accepté ma commande avec un point relais proposé par leur propre application, avant de l’annuler ensuite en disant que le point relais n’était finalement plus disponible.

Résultat : temps perdu, commande bloquée, remboursement automatique, et aucune vraie solution proposée. Ils ne recréent même pas la commande pour corriger leur propre erreur, donc c’est au client de tout refaire.

Proposer un point relais indisponible au moment de la commande, puis annuler après coup, c’est inadmissible. Être remboursé ne compense pas le temps perdu ni la mauvaise expérience.

Cold calling

Don't even shop with them and they cold call me about promotions just this week twice about DeWalt batteries, apparently they got my business number offline and gave me a call shocking behaviour. I've contacted kingfisher and Screwfix regarding this

Total failure of accountability by…

Total failure of accountability by screwfix for my missing package ordered on line to be delivered by DHL
Order never arrived but I got a notification off DHL saying it had been I was at home at the time nothing arrived and on the notification was a image of someone else’s front door total different colour to mine
No signature was received
I spent the next week being passed from DHL to screwfix both not taking accountability for my lost order
I was asked twice to check with neighbours of which I did no parcel had been taken in for me
So after a week still no resolution to my £50 lost order
Honestly I wouldn’t bother ordering anything to be delivered from screwfix you risk losing your money and the headache of trying to find your missing package yourself
All orders should be signed for no signature no delivery full stop

I use this company a lot

I use this company a lot, and their staff and product range and convenience is excellent. They truly excel at customer service.
My only minor quibble is that some items are next day delivery when I need them same day.

Always useful, always good service.

Although this review is more centred on the recent same day delivery service vis the app, generally speaking I have been using screwfix for 15 years and never had a bad experience with them here in Coventry, they are knowledgeable, prompt, and the same day delivery service for a limited but useful range of items has been a God send several times over the last two years of house renovations. I have nothing but good experiences with them.

Misleading the customer

I spend a fair amount of money with Screwfix, but lately I’ve found them to be misleading & ripping off the consumer.
They are advertising Festool products with the knowledge that Festool are NOT suppliers to the kingfisher brand, the contract has expired ages ago, but choose to still advertise item they can no longer obtain, this goes for makita , refurbished items, advertised but they will never get them in , all you have to do is remove from website, I’ve spent countless hours raising this issue, but guess what! No reply , I’m fed up with this company, gone really downhill in recent years. Poor service, mislead advertising! I have already started to spend my money with their competitors, I can say , a lot better and no rubbish !

I was kept waiting beyond what I considered to be reasonable.

Normally, this would not have bothered me but having a painful hidden disability, I was not happy.

I had to prop myself against some large buckets, to try and alleviate my pelvic area from becoming too painful.

Unfortunately many retailers/shops, since Corvid, stopped providing chairs for customers to sit on.

When you have a disability, having some where to sit becomes a necessity.

Don’t use Screwfix better refund process at Toolstation - uncollected orders

Don’t use Screwfix, use Toolstation. Toolstation gives auto credit if you don’t pick up an order. At Screwfix they make you jump through hoops. Automated non human hoops designed to encourage you to abandon the attempt to get your money back.

You can’t do this from their App it’s a separate WhatsApp process.

Requires the full 12 digit order number and the Postcode of the store you ordered the item from. They want to keep your money.

Use Toolstation. If an order isn’t collected the refund is automatic.

Below they ask for more details. Just buy something from a Screwfix store, don’t collect it, then try to obtain your money back.

The process is designed to be difficult in the hope that Customets give up and Screwfix can keep the cash.

Use Toolstation instead is the best advice I can give.

Just used screwfix in Horley Surrey

Just used screwfix in Horley Surrey . I needed something last minute , the team there were really helpful , friendly and professional .They advised on what I should get after explaining what I needed, it was close to closing time and a Friday too ! Really knowledgeable team . Probably best screwfix local to me .

Seventh hell instead of heaven.

Was told to try these guys as good service and good prices with rewards but that advice could not have been further from the truth.
Firstly, told I could not open account as my email address did not have my full business name in it. Anyone can make up an email address so this is an absolute waste of time and pointless red tape which I will not waste my time with and use someone else.
Second, I have completed 12 orders in 3 weeks and not 1 order has had everything arrive.
Third, their delivery company commonly lie and say they have attempted to deliver an item and they have not even left their deposit.
Fourth, they pretend to deliver items and as proof take a picture of the back of their van so deliberately unclear.
Fifth, they call you and tell you items are in when they are not.
Six, they call to say items are in and when you get there they say they are not in, even though they actually are.
Seventh, they other rewards online that do not work.
I would have given -1 stars but as their Royston branch staff are so helpful and hard working, I will give 2 stars (5 star staff in Royston branch and -1 star delivery company they use.

Terrible service delivery,.no one really gives a ...We had a radiator delivered which was…

We had a radiator delivered which was damaged, these things happen, So fair enough. But, the hassle in getting another one delivered and the old one collected was a nightmare! The changed the delivery times three times with no real apologies. I have taken time off work for nothing twice! Not impressed at all. Will shop elsewhere when it comes to delivery. Still haven't got the radiator at time of writing.

"Not available at "insert your town"

Needed some spare silicon gun nozzles " not available in Saltash " Oh ok, I'll just drive across the toll bridge into Plymouth then ! WTF ? Screwfix is trying hard it seems to become worse at customer service than Tool5tation. So much stuff now not available in store or at Saltash at all.
Everything you sell should be available to order for delivery to any store for local pick up. Basic customer service and business sense.

Screwed by Screwfix

I was shopping for a new Einhell product after very recently purchasing a Lawn Mower from Screwfix and noticed they had 20% off via a discount code. I used the WhatsApp support service asking if there was any chance of a price match (reasonable request as other companies do this, think John Lewis) due to the considerable drop in price and short amount of time passed. Initially the customer service assistant refused to acknowledge there was a discount code available. After some back and forth they conceded the price had changed but the only way I could access the new price was by returning my original purchase and submitting a new order. I pointed out this would cost both myself and their company time and money for the same outcome but this was dismissed using the sort of vague language you’ll see in the responses to other reviews. In my experience actions speak louder and seeing a main competitor, Toolstation, being significantly better reviewed on this site suggests Screwfix are falling behind. I’ll be taking my business there in the future and I suggest you do the same.

Paid extra for premium service and let down.

Paid extra for premium service. Ordered a water tank for £195 six days ago paid for their premium service to get item before 12AM . Got a text at 08.00 AM this morning stating I will be getting item between 13.00 and 18.00 .

What a complete waste of time. Arranged plumber and will have to compensate them as cant guarantee what time I will have the item now. So another day without water. Thank screwfix . I called customer service and lady extremely friendly but obviously cant help me.
