Being an international home buyer, I faced difficulties in finding a new build house. I sent emails to some popular builders, but either I could not receive their reply or they were not willing to offer. Fortunately, the staff of Rowland Homes responded to me promptly and delivered incredible service in offering such a beautiful new house for us. I want to say thank you to Mathew at Meadow Gate of Rowland Homes for all of his time and effort in helping get us into our new home. My wife and I want to express our appreciation for the way he took the time to understand exactly what type of new home we were looking for. I am so glad that he sent me email to recommend a new build detached house at the popular site which was still available. His personal warmth and interest in us took all the trepidation out of purchasing our first home. He made it a real pleasure, as he took us through the process step by step and he also updated the building progress of the house to us weekly before its completion. It was amazing to see everything come together, and we are so very thankful to his guidance, advice and support. We would like to say thank you to Lucy at Meadow Gate that she explained the details of the house to us clearly and she was willing to provide information about the choice of kitchen cabinets, tiles and floorings. She sent many photos to us by emails about the choice of kitchen, tiles and floorings. She spent so much time on us to understand exactly what we were looking for in a new house. Her cheerful attitude had smoothed the way. We love our new home and we look forward to entertaining in the spacious new kitchen, back yard and lounge in our new house. I would also like to say thank you to Wendy at the Pastures of Rowland Homes. I was too late to reserve a house at her site but she suggested me nearby site at Meadow Gate immediately.

Even though I was absence from the day of completion of the house, Mathew was willing to arrange my snagging person for the snag without me here. The snagging report after completion of the house showed few defects found in such a big house. Rowland Homes has constructed a quality home for us. I found my house was clean and tidy in the photos of the snagging report. We are impressed with the quality of Rowland’s workmanship and the professionalism of the staff. It made all the difference to know that Mathew and his team were mindful of the details and were willing to follow up those defects of the house. This house and Rowland’s service surpassed all our expectations. Thank you.

Let me say at the outset that we love our House on Pear Tree Grange, and if was finished to a great standard by the Foreman, Neil and when its finished the Site will look great.
Our current issue is our Garden, which is essentially a Puddle across the width of the property, but Rowland expect us to monitor it over the coming months which will leave us with an unusable Garden next Spring and Summer.
Don’t expect good customer service and don't expect a Garden you can use.

Rowland have subcontracted Huyton Asphalt to resurface the road on The Pastures Development. The road is a right mess. Raised ironwork, potholes, tarmac blocking drains so now the roads flood. This is damaging my vehicle on a daily basis. The road is like an obstacle course and we haven't seen a workman for weeks on end now. Numerous people on the estate have tried to contact Huyton Asphalt and Rowland about this, but have had no joy!

Thank again before buying a Rowland home - the build quality isn't great. I will be avoiding in the future!

Thorne Meadows.
We absolutely love our new home on Thorne Meadows. The house demonstration, the week before completion, was a joy being able to see the finished product. This is our 3rd new build purchase and the quality of the finish is definitely the best yet, the house feels so solid and is incredibly warm. We upgraded the Kitchen worktops and the flooring package throughout and both are magnificent and well worth the additional cost.
Stephen has been really helpful, professional and friendly throughout the whole process and offered really good advice as we were picking the options and finishes etc.
The part exchange process went really well and removed a load of potential stress.
Also had a good 7 day snag meeting with Noel. No major issues identified and no pushbacks on anything raised, he even fixed one minor issue during the meeting.

If I could Give zero I would, we have lived in our Rowlands home for nearly 6 years now.

We have easily spent over £10,000 fixing issues they had zero interest in correcting.
Tried contacting so so much about issues, they were never interested in fixing things correctly only cheaply! Or they flat out ignored us like they’re ignoring our entire estate at the minute, 6 years. Still no roads, still fixing their workman ship and now they’ve raised ironworks and left them for weeks so now with all the rain everything is flooding, best bit is they’re ignoring everyone again.

As it has been a month now since we moved into our new home we wanted to thank you and the team for all the support and assistance you have given us as we moved into our dream home on your Levens View Estate. The experience has been a joy for us and Jordan has been excellent, this started with the help and advice you gave us that led to us taking you up on your offer of a Powermove to purchase our new home.
The professionalism of you and the Rowland Homes team has been excellent throughout our home purchase. The Powermove worked seamlessly and the estate agents you used where very good and kept us well informed throughout the entire process.
The communication has been excellent throughout the buying process and you kept us well informed about the construction of our new home and we were pleased to see that you and the team delivered on your promised moving in date.
Since we have moved in it has been a joy as our Reynold home is everything we were looking for in our new family home. There is plenty of space, the finish is very good and we really like the layout of the family room as it opens out onto our lovely sized garden.
The standard of build has been very good with a snag list that only consisted of some minor cosmetic elements which I am extremely pleased to say Dan and his team have been going out of their way to fix. We are extremely impressed with the professional approach of the team on site and am sure all of our issues will be addressed over the coming weeks. We are extremely pleased with the experience we have had in buying a Rowland Home on their Ulverston site and would be happy to share our experiences with anyone considering buying a property and we have nothing but praise for you and the team.

From purchasing the property late 2019 I was told by Rowland how much better they were than other builders and they talked a good game. Pre pen to paper they were very nice/easy to deal with and accommodating. Then once I'd signed the issues started. COVID played a big part in this but they leant on that as an excuse to just fob me off and omit details that would have been helpful. What previously was "Well our spec is much higher than others" soon became "Well other builders do the same"

I dealt with so many different people that it became impossible to track and they would always then have an "out" by saying that they never said that, it was their colleague. I'm not sure if the staff were deliberately misleading me or just ignorant of features - but extras I added onto my build and paid for weren't there when I went for the demo, flooring was different from what was verbally agreed. During the demo and after pointing out missing paint, stains, skirting issues, I was told "not to worry as we do our own snagging." When I finally got the keys late 2020 every single one of these issues was still there (plus others). Some of the finish to the property was honestly embarrassing - to the point where I was making excuses when friends came round.

My list of snags was sent and in fairness some were actioned relatively quickly. But not one single one was completed fully. The 3/4s of the brickwork outside was done. They levelled a unit in the kitchen but for some reason didn't seal it. They replaced the doors but one has a welt on it and one doesn't close properly. My site manager then changed, but I only found out when I bumped into a neighbour who's had similar issues. 6 months in and there are still glaring issues with the property.

Friends and Colleagues have moved into other developers properties at a similar time to mine. And if I had my time again I would 100% not go with Rowland and would have gone for one of the so called "Lower spec" builders.

If you do decide to go with Rowland - record every conversation - get everything in writing - and expect to be underwhelmed

Today I called in at great Eccleston and was greeted by Stephen.He was very friendly and welcoming. We are looking at upsizing I had a look around the stunning show house and was very impressed. I am a decorator by trade and I was very impressed with the standard my company Hine decorating ltd has priced some new sites for rowland and I hope to soon be a contractor and a homeowner for rowland. We will be back to hopefully purchase 😊

Couldn't be happier with my new home. The process from start to finish was extremely smooth, with all the Rowland staff being very helpful and good at communicating at key points in the process. Matt in the sales office on site was particularly great, always helpful and friendly and made the process easy to understand.

The walk round was well handled and lots of heplful information and guidance provided. So when I moved in today it was really simple to get everything registered and sorted out.

The build itself is excellent. Great finish all round, good quality appliances and fittings, fantastic carpet and flooring and everything feels a really high quality. Really love my new home and can't wait to fully settle in there!

Update - despite the please contact us and we will sort this reply underneath..... they don’t respond when taken off a public forum. Seriously thought they might actually do what they have supposed to have done.

More interesting is the press follow up from these comments, there are quite a few news outlets that want to follow up substandard home builders, I never wanted to go down that line but whilst rowland keep misleading and wrongly selling homes then it needs to be stopped.

I will try and keep this short. Rowland are greedy and will try absolutely everything not to pay for items that are ‘promised’ to you in the sales office. Make sure that you get the contract written with everything on it. Even the things they say are included, for example full zanussi appliances in kitchen isn’t true, exceptional specification isn’t true, you might get a decent bathroom tap but they save their money when it comes to the electrics, door handles and windows.

During the buying process we was informed by the sales representative of a lot of things that are included, we paid for upgraded underlay and it is cheap, probably best getting the job done yourself, but when we upgraded the carpet we was told that it included the front door matting, moved in and surprise surprise it doesn’t, raise it is an issue and nope it’s not on your contract so tough. The list of the items we were informed that are included are quite extensive and none of them are they are all ‘extras’. We was/have been made to feel like scum by sales since we have moved in. Customer services are poor to say the least m, we have been rushed out of appointments because someone is coming in who ‘is paying for more upgrades than you’ to having appointments and turning up to find that they have booked someone else in because ‘there buying the big house’. If it wasn’t for the location we said we would be out of here. The customer service is appalling and continued to be appealing, especially on the day of getting our keys, we was told previously that we would be able to use the garage on completion day to start unloading some items, rang up and was told no, so waited and at just after 4pm I was able to go and collect the keys to the house, although tired, I was excited to final get over the line and start moving in, well that excitement was taking out by sales, when I walked in to the office I was treated abruptly and was given a folder, air freshener, some flowers and a big bunch of keys and told that they can’t deal with me because they are dealing with some one else. How rude do you need to be, since that point the on-site sales staff have not even said hello, or even give us the time of day. Everyone else seems to get a visit or a hello.

Anyway, raised a complaint about cooker hood, customer service and miss-selling nearly two months ago and no one has been decent enough to reply.

We reserved our property back in September with Mathew at Meadow Gate and from there it has been a simple and smooth process, we cant thank Mathew enough for how easy he made it. Any problems we had he solved them instantly. We highly recommend you buy a Rowland Home if you get the chance. And we look forward to living in ours for many years to come.

We have just recently moved into a rowland home on the Meadowgate development. From the initial phone call to book in a visit to the showhome to getting our keys the service was perfect. Matt was great throughout the whole process. He kept us up to date with weekly updates about the completion and when choosing our extras he was there to offer us advice but didn't pressure us into buying anything which enabled us to choose what was right for us. When doing home demo day both Matt and Stan were great it made moving in day less stressful as we knew how the house worked. After moving in a week later we received a courtesy call from Ryan to discuss any issues we had. We spoke with him and he took the time to listen to our snags and he sorted our problem out with the toilet that day. Throughout the whole process we have felt like valued customers and we absolutely love our new home.

After finding the meadow gate development online and falling in love with the floor plans for the Ashgate 2 I came to see Mathew in the sales office at the end of August last year and reserved my first home. Mathew couldn’t have been more helpful and kept me updated throughout the 7 months from reservation to getting my keys last Friday. There were lots of options and extras to choose from and I couldn’t be happier with my home and the Greta experience I had buying with Rowland homes and Mathew at Meadow gate. Thanks

Myself and my husband have just moved into a Bonnington home at Meadow Gate. The entire process from start to finish was dealt with by Matt who went above and beyond from the very first meeting. We were made to feel like valued customers and nothing was ever to much. He went above and beyond during purchase to make sure we were happy with all the paper work and understood the process, as due to us being first time buyers all the lingo can be confusing. From putting down our deposit to completion we got regular updates about the build and all deadlines. He even chased up solicitors when we couldn’t, going above and beyond his role. Matt along with Stan showed myself around our home on demo day and nothing was left unturned. They spent about an hour going over all the finer details with me which made move in day smooth as I knew how everything worked. We have been moved in now for 4 days and we know now that buying form Matt at Rowland homes was the best decision we made for our family. We got our keys by half 11 on move in day which was so much quicker than we anticipated. We were greeted with a big smile on the Friday morning and some lovely welcome gifts! It really is the small things that make a huge difference. Since moving in we have found the odd snag but nothing major and I am confident that these will all get fixed in a timely manner due to the customer care we have already experienced.

We are currently living in a house that is surrounded by unfinished houses. Yes it is quite literally a building site BUT the site team are AMAZING I cannot stress this enough the are courteous and friendly always stop and wave at our boys through the window (again the little things). If I could supply them with brews all day I would but there is too many of them! They are all a great bunch and I think we will actually miss the building work when it’s all finished.

Everyone that has been part of our process has been a credit to the Rowland team and I would recommend a move to meadow gate to everyone!!

I have recently moved into a Renishaw house at the Meadow Gate estate and throughout the whole sales process Mathew was fantastic in his dealings with us, making sure we knew what was going on with our house and made us feel valued, rather than just being another customer. We have been looked after as first time buyers and we have felt very satisfied with our decision to buy with Rowland homes. Mathew has made our first home feel even more special.

Ryan who is running customer care on the estate, messaged me on Sunday to visit my house. On Monday he came round and saw we had so many snags on our 7 day list to do. By Tuesday we had a new handy man called Andrew. Andrew was brilliant in sorting out pretty much every snag we had on our 7 day list across 2 days and worked for 8/9 hours each day to sort out our issues. I was/am extremely impressed with Ryan and Andrew on the estate and the efficiency in sorting out snags and putting existing home owners first.

Since then Ryan has always given me courtesy calls to make sure things are going alright and to address any other minor snags we have had.

I hope this high level of customer service continues into the future.

The standard of build has been really good and we are really happy with the whole process.

We moved into our first home and couldn’t be happier. The move in went so smoothly (picked our keys up at 11) after signing everything off with Matt. Throughout the whole process Matt was extremely helpful, answered all our questions and he’d always be happy to take any of our calls if we needed to speak to him.

Our initial snag list was completed within a month of us living in the home which is pretty efficient considering there was no major snags within our home. Overall very happy with the whole process and couldn’t fault their work. Top lads on site and top people in the show homes!

Terrible! Have a sick 8 year old son who has to live with black mold on a 3 year old 250k house! Spent a week asking for help to be ignored. Do not buy!!

We have had a great experience buying our first new home! Being new to the process of both buying a home & buying a new build, Kiera our sales rep at Finch Park was very helpful along the journey. She went through the entire process prior to the purchase, kept us well informed during the build and continues to be available when needed now that we have the keys to our lovely new home. Andy our site manager is very understanding at any issues or questions we have as well as quick at getting everything sorted. Overall we have had a great experience buying our Rowland home!

On our recent purchase of plot 3 The Pastures Wesham, we were delighted with the service and support that we received in particular Lucy the sales representative. She went above and beyond to address any issues that we had in a very professional manner.
We would also like to give a mention to Liam the site manager who again was extremely helpful and dealt with any issues professionally and promptly.

We've just reserved our first home with Rowland Homes at Thorne Meadows and Stephen has been fabulous. He's gone above and beyond to make our dream come true with this lovely house and we are very excited to move in. Thank you Stephen!
