Zero customer support

Zero customer support. Remote control failed on two year old TV built in roku. So no access, serial number of unit did not correspond to any remote on net to replace. Contacted roku no answer nada..
So new tv never again roku.

I purchased AMC and MGM using the 99-cent promotion. A week later, both were no longer active. The day after the promotion ended. I contacted support and was told I only paid for a week. Being a long time user of Roku this did not make sense to me. I googled the phone number for Roku, a Roku page popped up in my search, it had my name and all my account information. I called the number and trusted I was speaking to Roku support and it was a scam to access my phone. I learned that Roku does not have a phone number for support. I have left a comment regarding the ordeal with Roku on a support survey. I am no longer willing to deal with a company that provides no support and sets their customers up for fraud.

I paid for 1 year of starz thru roku I got to watch one time then it was no longer available i started chatting with them did everything they said still no service I went in and turned off auto renew so that canceled it they won't give me a refund but on there website roku.com I was on my account it says "auto renew has been turned off (enjoy til May 28,2026). Roku in my eyes are not trusting business. All I wanted was to get what I paid for but that did not happen. I do have a screen shot of my account to verify this

Roku is great!

I bought 2 Roku Ultra devices and placed them on the 2 TVs in my home. After a week of cutting the "cable" and using Roku streaming I'm extremely happy with how easy it was to set up Roku, how easy it is to use, and the hundreds of free channels that are available. Using Roku will save me $1,700 dollars a year that I was spending on cable TV. I couldn't be happier with the Roku product; the Roku Ultra is simply spectacular! I'm just sorry I didn't ditch cable TV and go to Roku much earlier. If you're thinking of ditching cable TV get a Roku Ultra, you won't be sorry!

Because 0 isn't an option, do not buy roku anything ever. Roku tv remote stopped connecting, contacted support after over an hour of troubleshooting was told the remote was bad , sent a link to buy new remote did so , a week later same worse issue , another hour of trouble shooting and was told the remote is not a roku remote, from their link. I posted complaint on bbb , on roku , and here. Buyer beware the whole company is a scam. Buy a visio or fire tv roku is a waste of money. Small price to pay for replacement remote to hopefully cost this company alot of future business. I hope this review is seen by many and the company collapses. Customer service is terrible, products ok until they are not then just replace whole product since support is worthless. Just buy a better brand and avoid all the issues with roku

Beware of Scammers!
Today I was scammed by two people posing as Roku customer service reps. After research I find out I am not the only one. My thing is Roku knew about the scammers posing as their employees and chose to do nothing to protect their customers. I had money stolen from me, my phone hacked, and thankfully the bank intervened before it went much further and shut down my account. I think they target the elderly a lot (I happen to be elderly) but I just want to warn people. Be smarter than I was and I hope it doesn't happen to you. Remember Roku knew this was happening to their customers! Roku refused to assist me in any manner. I am out money, my tv service is out, and Roku did nothing to help me.

Rip Off

When I signed up with HBO MAX through their own website, not Roku’s, Roku started billing me simultaneously as HBO MAX. 11 months later I noticed the double charges and called Roku who would only refund me the last two months! I bet they’re making a ton of money from this common mistake!

Nightmare service!

Nightmare service!
Their youtube roku kept getting disconnected, spoke to roku customer service staff name “Mythili” for 30 mins, very slow talker, a bot, doesn’t know what she’s doing, speaks less english, refused to gave her supervisr’s name and email address for complaints. Not happy, useless and rude staff, wasted 30 mins talking to het! not happy!

Tolles Gerät – ich verstehe die negativen Kommentare nicht!

Ich habe den Roku jetzt schon zum zweiten Mal gekauft, weil ich so zufrieden bin. Die Bedienung ist total übersichtlich, alle Apps sind auf einen Blick zu sehen, und alles funktioniert einfach.

Als meine Fernbedienung kaputt war, habe ich den Support kontaktiert und sofort eine Antwort bekommen. Der Kundenservice war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, und ich habe ohne Probleme eine neue Fernbedienung erhalten.

Ich kann Roku wirklich nur empfehlen – tolles Gerät und super Service!

Constantly losing wifi signal

I bought two of these tvs and although when I first bought them 5 months ago, they were fine; now they constantly are losing the wifi signal even though it shows that the signal is 'excellent', it just won't connect to it even. One of the tvs is in same room as the router too.
I have other tvs that never lose the WiFi.

They tried to scam to me. I was having Issues with adding one of my apps to my TV and a error msg came on tell8ng me to call a 833 number. I did and the Indian guy asked me for my info along with my password. I paused and asked wtf he needed that for like who ask for a password then I thought it's a tv wtf could he do with it only for him to talk some bs about me needing an AI account and how any tv purchase since 2025 would require it to access apps he offered me unlimited access for 300.00 i told him no and went in and created me a acct that I never set up prior and put the TV in guest mode. I had to find the real roku number and call to report and fix the problem they were Hispanic and Indian too they were supposed to report it to fraud and instead sent info in for the guest account that I had to wait until the next day to remove all because of his dusty azz. I pray that God pours bad karma on him and his live ones because I know he does it on a regular to ppl who dont know any better if you can dont get a roku tv ever to avoid being scammed

You can't get rid of the crap…

I like what I have chose to view (from about half a dozen selected channels bot easily available elsewhere) by using the Roku Streaming Stick, but when I want to get back to my mainsteam TV service I generally get stuck with a load of crap - principally some loud mouthed woman (on DTV?) who goes on and on without drawing breath about some shabby clothing. I've tried switching everything off, and it still re-appears and is stopping me viewing what I want when I want. I can understand Roku wanting to offer easy access to the channels that they make available BUT this failure to faciliate switching away from Roku is a serious design fault which shows no consideration for their customers. If I'd been warned about I would have saved my money and not bought the stick.

Paramount+ through Roku gets stuck…

Paramount Plus through Roku gets stuck on ads and you can't get back to the show no matter what you do. They give you all kinds of things to do that do not work and then they tell you to contact Paramount Plus. If you go directly through Paramount it works just fine so this is a Roku problem which they take no responsibility for. The worst streaming service I have encountered.

Bought new roku to replace an old one…

Bought new roku to replace an old one and it wouldn't work. Called customer service and was told go some where else. Taking it back where I bought it and deleted my roku account and feel better already. There is no such thing as customer service with any company anymore.

Would give a zero if I had the option

Would give a zero if I had the option. Canceled my Roku account YEARS ago, but they continue to charge me the $6+ dollars a month. It adds up over several years. I contacted Roku, who told me I have to contact Discovery+ to cancel the account. Discovery+ tells me to contact Roku. Because Roku is the name on my bank statement that's making the withdrawal. Finally got through, cancelled my account, only to have them start charging me again after an entire year of leaving me alone?! I haven't had a Roku box in 6 years. So I tried all of the above again, and can't find a way to cancel the account I've already cancelled! At this point it's basically stealing. I want my money back. They make sure you cannot contact them easily.
