We booked our Nile Cruise through Classic Holidays who used Orbital Travel on board to look after our group of 20. We were met by Sameh who greeted us all on board our boat the Royal Princess. We were all shown to our cabins which were all prepared for us with snacks until dinner. Sameh organised our tables for dinner and then gave us our itinerary for the next day with a 5.00 am start!!
Wow what a wonderful start to this fabulous trip. Sameh took us to Karnak temple. He was such a fun person and named us all Angels which made it easier to gather us all up when w3 wandered off! Karnak was beautiful and we watched the sunrise in this beautiful temple along with Sameh introducing us to Egyptian history which he was so knowledgeable about. We all found his pleasing, friendly persona so easy to understand this wonderful country. You could see he was passionate about his country and its history. Throughout our trip Sameh looked after us so well and we all enjoyed his wonderful sense of humour. He is so knowledgeable about Egyptian history and made interesting talks throughout. We visited all the main sights and each one was so interesting and Sameh had us all enthralled and interested in his knowledge.
We added on the Abel Simbel trip which has always been on my bucket list and the bird watching trip both so worth the extras.

Having left it a little late and had trouble finding the right holiday for the right dates Greg at Orbital Travel sent me quote, I booked and the holiday was great. Very well organised and so simple from start to finish.

We booked a Nile Cruise to celebrate our 60th birthdays-a 'once in a lifetime' with our grown-up children. It was perfect! Everyone had a fabulous time on Grand Madarin. Food was excellent-something for everyone;Staff were outstanding- friendly,helpful and repeatedly going 'the extra mile' to make us feel genuinely valued. Itinerary and facilities great. We had issues with luggage but Greg worked hard and the problem was rectified. Would definitely book with Orbital again.

We have just returned from a week long cruise on the Nile on the MS Mayfair via Orbital Travel.Greg Garner at Orbital was brilliant from the outset. Denise was also very helpful. The entire experience exceeded our expectations. The boat was amazing, the staff truly first rate and the food very good. The guide Aymen Zieff made the trip memorable; he was simply the best.We have traveled extensively and are neither inclined to be overly praising or critical but Orbital deserve special praise here. An outstanding holiday experience mixing first class organisation with brilliant service. Well done and thank you to all.

We have recently returned from a three-night stay at the Mena House Hotel, the hotel was very clean, rooms spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were glad that we upgraded to a Pyramid view room the view was amazing. We also did a tour of the Pyramids and Cairo museum with a guide who was very knowledgeable.
We then flew from Cairo to Luxor to join the Blue Shadow IV (previously called Royal Esadora). The cruise ship was very clean, rooms were okay and food was good with a lot of variety, staff were friendly and helpful. Adel was our Egyptologist for the 7 days we were on the ship. He was very helpful and if we needed anything he was on hand to answer our questions. Also on our trips he was very informative and knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the sites we visited.

We had a wonderful holiday and thank you to Greg at Orbital for arranging our trip and dealt with any questions I had before we went and would not hesitate to recommend Orbital to other people.

Orbital organised a wonderful holiday for us in Eygpt - a Nile Cruise from Aswan to Cairo which is longer than the average Nile Cruise. The organisation of the trip and friendly expert advice given by Orbital was exemplary. Everything went smoothly and the standard of the Ship, the food, the cleanliness the arrangements, were all excellent. Our Eygptologist, Ebram Sobhay, made everything so interesting in the way he described the history. He had a great sense of humour and nothing was too much trouble. Orbital's approach was similar. We thoroughly recommend Orbital.

My wife and I have recently returned from a 11 night trip to Egypt which was a holiday and an itinerary that was advertised via Orbital Travel.

It included 3 nights in Cairo where we visited the Pyramids and the Egyptian museum before flying to Luxor and 7 nights on the Jazz Regent for a river cruise to Aswan.

This holiday had been on our wish list for over 30 years, and it didn’t disappoint in any respect in fact it exceeded our expectations be it the hotels / flights / transfers and certainly the service on the boat and the standard of food that’s was provided which was top rate.

Also worthy of mention was the itinerary that formed part of this holiday which was excellent as it included visits to all the main Temple’s and Tombs that was greatly enhanced by our Egyptologist Ehab who escorted us to each location.

Ehab was passionate and extremely knowledgeable about all the ancient monuments that we visited and his enthusiasm was evident as he explained all about them which just added to our enjoyment of the holiday, which I could not fault in any respect.

Finally a word of thanks to Denise at Orbital Travel who provided us with a wealth of information during the booking process, indeed she visited just 2 weeks before us that added another level of reassurance that a trip down the Nile was not only safe, but would leave us with a lifetime of memories.

Just got back from the most amazing Nile cruise, was truly unforgettable. The Grand Mandarine was stunning, every person we came across was faultless and couldn’t do enough for us. The food, cocktails, service was out of this world. Would highly recommend and can’t thank orbital travel enough, for all there help and advice. We definitely be booking again with them.

A visit to Egypt had long been a hope I never thought would happen. But suddenly it seemed imperative to go, to experience the country while we still can. I chose a ship carefully. The Nile Princess looked to be traditional. Three days before departure I was informed it would not be sailing; I and my daughter were transferred to another ship The Grand Mandarin, owned by the same company. We discovered that all of our fellow passengers were similarly transferred, and all of us were initially unhappy but only because we had all opted for tradition and simplicity, not evening entertainment or loud music and we feared the worst. For no good reason, we were very lucky to be on the Grand Mandarin. None of our apprehensions were warranted!
Having got that out of the way, I am writing to say that the Grand Mandarin was light, airy, and spotlessly clean, the staff were very obliging, and the buffet food was lavish and excellent, if anything, far greater choice of salads and cooked dishes than was needed. The cabins were provided with everything. I cannot praise it enough. The upper deck with its bar, constantly staffed, meant that drinks or coffee were available throughout the day. It was luxurious.
The temples are simply indescribable, no picture does them justice, it cannot capture their scale or power; their preservation is astonishing, and it is unique to see a history written by the people of the time. Karnak and Luxor Temples deserve more time than we could give them, and Kom Ombu at night was special. Abu Simbel and its preservation is simply mind-blowing. The guide to the Botanical Garden was very amusing and clearly an expert not just on Egyptian trees but their European equivalents. Egypt is very moving as a country, brave and resilient, despite being plundered by successive occupation from the Greeks onward.
Our guide, Ahmed, was all a guide should be, and much more. He made the holiday what it was, informative, sensitive, and amusing. He introduced us to the country he both loves and studies, and he was aware of the needs of the group at every point, whether it was stopping long journeys for a loo, or saving us from heat. He is amazing. If you are on a tour with him, you are blessed. Everyone should visit Egypt, for its roots to all our cultures. I shall never forget Ahmed or the Grand Mandarin. It was totally wonderful.

We recently returned from a Nile river cruise which was booked and organised by Orbital travel.
We had flights from Manchester to Hurghada, a night in Hurghada and transfers to and from Luxor as we didn’t want to travel via Heathrow. It all went very smoothly and worked well.
The river cruise on Royal Esadora was most enjoyable and all the excursions were superb. The guide was knowledgeable, clear and extremely helpful. He was very easy to follow and had a good sense of humour.
The service from Orbital was excellent. Denise and Greg quickly answered any queries and provided information on optional excursions and an optional drinks package before we travelled.
We would happily use the company again.

From the first phone call to Greg at Orbital to booking the holiday to the actual holiday itself ,everything was excellent. We booked an Egyptian cruise and stay in Cairo holiday . The Mena House hotel was fab in Cairo. Right next to the pyramids. Eating breakfast outside with the pyramids in the background is perfect. The rooms so spacious too. We then went on our cruise ship the Grand Mandarin. This was fabulous too. Great food with lots of variety. All staff so friendly. Very clean. The views were amazing as you would expect.
A special mention to all the reps and tour guides . We were met at each airport helped with the passport and visa process and escorted to our ship or hotel. Our tour guide in Cairo called Mena was so knowledgeable as was Addie pur egyptologist who was with us the whole 7 days of our cruise trip. He was so interesting and funny too. He worked so hard and we knew we were in safe hands. He called the 32 people in his tour group his "family and we were very well looked after by him.
The trips were so good...well worth getting up early to miss the crowds and we then could relax in the afternoon on the ship.
It is a very exhausting holiday but there is so much to see and do and some people chose not to do all the trips. I would pwrsonally recommend going on them all if you are able We paid extra for a trip to Abu Simbel leaving at 4 am but I really enjoyed that too. It was amazing to see that they had moved the whole temple due to Lake Nasser flooding the original site.
I cannot recommend Orbital travel company enough. Communication excellent throughout and everything surpassed our high expectations. I can't wait to go on another holiday with Orbital.

From the very beginning of booking the holiday to the end Orbital Travel have been great. Our circumstances were not straightforward but they helped us get around these and were on hand to answer any queries (we had a few!!). When we arrived for our Nile cruise, we had the same level of service with a great guide (Hany) who couldn't do enough for us. All in all, I would recommend Orbital Travel if you want a knowledgeable and smooth process.

I have just returned from the most fantastic holiday in Egypt. We stayed at the Mena House in Cairo, cruised along the Nile in Grand Mandarin Nile cruiser then to Steigenberger Ras Soma Hotel. Orbital travel from start to finish were amazing there service in the UK and Egypt is second to none. Grand Mandarin was outstanding the staff were absolutely lovely, food outstanding and the boat was beautiful and clean. Both hotels are beautiful. If you want to go to Egypt with a company who know there products I would highly recommend Orbital Travel.

All we can say is what a well organised trip we had to Egypt with the assistance of Orbital. No matter where you were or where you were going there was always someone to watch over and guide you. Our guide for the duration, Sam, was so experienced, having so much local knowledge, there was nothing he couldn't help with. All in all the staff were great and made a fantastic bucket list tick.

Service provided by Orbital Travel was exceptional - from being met from the plane - taken through passport control, luggage, and checked into the hotel, this happened every time we moved location. The tour guides they have are amazing and very knowledgeable - really passionate about the sites and giving great information. Its great that on the Nile they are on the boat to be able to give you information daily and give tips and advise on all locations visited. We will be back!

BUYER BEWARE MS ESADORA
word of warning to anyone joining one of the nile cruises .
I recently took the nile cruise on board the MS Esadora operated by Orbital travel .
while on board I purchased a cartouche from the jewellers , I chose the one with the beautiful black background and was thrilled with my purchase , however after only two weeks the black background turned to a muddy brown and began to flake away from the pendant .
I contacted Classic holidays to try and find some contact information for the jeweller to find out how this could possibly have happened and to look for some kind of resolution .
my details were sent on to the boat operator as they had requested and also some photos of the cartouche showing the damage and a copy of my receipt .
that was three weeks ago and despite many follow emails I have had no contact from them whatsoever.
I know that many people staying in the various hotels go on to join cruises and wanted to warn anyone who might be considering the purchase of jewellery on board , hopefully I can prevent the same disappointment that I have experienced .

10 day Cairo / Nile cruise booked through Greg at orbital travel excellent from start to finish finish. There are such an array of Nile trips when you look on line it’s overwhelming so much NOT included when you see those from £599 price points. So make sure you know exactly what is and isn’t included . We whittled it down to three company’s and after speaking with Greg at orbital it was defo just gonna be one. Greg explained everything and was very patient with us and our endless questions!!😂we knew exactly what we were getting and how much was going to cost clearly broken down.With clear definition of what was extra if required
Flights / transfers everywhere /excursions all arranged for us excactly as we wanted and as recommended by Greg
The trip itself went extremely well from being met at Cairo plan side of passport/security so just had to hand over passports to orbital rep who took us through. (Egypt air delay of hour for luggage 🙄)but orbital rep was with us. So no issue with missing transfers
Cairo stiegnberg pyramid hotel with pyramid view room recommended by Greg was excellent choice for 3 nights. 2 great days of visiting all Cairo sites.Pyramids etc.with great guide mana wyfly
Then internal flights Cairo to luxor. Again orbital there all the way sorting everything else.We felt like first class passenger!
Smoothly transfered to boat. Should have been esadora but ended up being blue shadow 2. It is stated boat could change but all boats orbital use are in there web site with vids for each. And all of like for like level. (They have to keep occupancy level of boats at reasonable level to be viable and with current issues lots people have been cancelling. So will be consolidation of boats ) comms could have been better here
Boat was absolutely fine.Good rooms good food good cleanliness.Good fun !!

We have just returned home after spending a lovely week on a Nile cruise aboard the MS Orbital Royal Esadora.
The boat was very nice, spacious and clean, the staff onboard were all very friendly especially our waiters and the cabin boys who were very creative with Towels!
We was lucky enough to have Hany Refaat has our tour guide, we couldn't have wished for a better person and would certainly recommend him as a tour guide to anyone wanting to do this trip.
During our week Hany was not only our tour guide but was always there to help not only while we was out on excursions, but he was also always present around the boat, he greeted everyone with a smile and was happy to sort any problem that arose.
We can happily say that we finished our holiday with a greater understanding of Egyptian history, and this is all down to Hany, his knowledge for Egyptian history is outstanding and he has an obvious love for his job, this shows by the passion he demonstrates when sharing it with us, for that we thank him.
We would happily recommend the trip to anyone thinking of a Nile cruise.
