Had a great experience at Optical Express Huddersfield for my laser eye surgery consultation. Junaid the optometrist was very professional, thorough and explained everything clearly, which made me feel completely at ease. Usama and Javeriya were also extremely friendly and helpful when booking the surgery, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. It was difficult for me to put 4 stars…
It was difficult for me to put 4 stars as the operation for replacement lens surgery was an overwhelming success with better than 20/20 vision within 24hrs (via vision tests carried out next day). The operation itself is painless and very quick but the weirdest experience!
The negative comes with the administration before hand, though my experience was likely to have been quite rare, the original date was cancelled and I had to call when I wasn’t contacted via teams as advised. A few challenges like this but far outweighed by the results. Lovey people with your best interests at heart. I was also a little surprised by the tone of the comms regarding final payment ets, these were automated so they may want to look at this. Overall, very happy!

Visited the Leeds white rose site for a laser eye consultation. I was really nervous but wanted to see if I was eligible and if it would work for me. I have been booked into laser eye surgery later this month. But wanted to leave a Review for the 2 members of staff. Maleehah who did all my initial eye scans and Junaid the Optometrist were absolutely fantastic. They gave me all the information I needed and were so patient and made me feel so reassured that this is definitely the place where I would like to be treated. Thank you.

My experience with optical express was very good. The staff were very helpful and explained everything so I would understand. Hardip from the Maidstone store was extremely helpful. And I’ve chose to go forward with the lens replacement surgery. I would totally recommend the Maidstone store if you are considering eye surgery.

Sharp practice and heavy selling
I recently made an enquiry about laser eye surgery. I was contacted by someone one from a centre in Glasgow. The took me through a very long, tedious and scripted questionnaire. This included a variety of pricing points. I repeatedly told him I wasn't interested in anything over the £595 per eye for laser surgery.
Since then I have made an appointment, completed another questionnaire and today had another call. In today's call they tell me I am not eligible for laser eye treatment because I am over 40 and have the start of a cataract. The minimum charge I was told would be is £3000 per eye!
Consequently, I have cancelled the appointment. What a colossal waste of time for everyone involved. I feel like I've been scammed and these are heavy-sell tactics where people end up paying much more than advertised.
They also now have a lot of my personal information and my bank details for their cancellation charge. So I'm also scammed out of sensitive information on false pretences.
These are all very poor practices.
Having just read the reply below, I have already sent this to customer services and received no reply. I have also requested confirmation that all my personal data has been deleted and that I won't be charged a cancellation fee. No reply. I've called, computer says "I don't know"
