Amazing assistance from hte Team (Maja was always precise and supportive)

We use Now Health, it's one of the best insurance companies for corporate insurance companies in the past, in terms of response speed, follow up, customer experience.

I have had several claims made over the last couple of weeks and the service is absolutely incredible - they are super fast and very helpful (in my case, Ibu Ratna Siswoyo)

As you look through all the positive reviews, I suggest you compare style and content.  To me, they seem remarkably similar, as if written by some intern/insider to push the score up.  Instead, consider the 20% 1-star reviews, most of which relate to refusing to pay legitimate claims.  This has been my experience.

I have had health insurance for 40+ years and Now Health is the most unprofessional, disingenuous company I have dealt with. I experienced them as a border-line sham operation. They were quick to collect the premium but tried to find any excuse no matter how contrived to deny a genuine claim.

 Here is what I went through:

- I went to my optician for a regular exam.  She discovered cataracts and referred me to surgery

- I spent a month repeatedly asking for pre-authorization and receiving non-responsive answers along the lines of “we cover cataracts .. but, it depends”

- Finally, on the day of the surgery, via both a phone call and an email, they confirmed they would cover the surgery

- When I submitted the claim, complete with the optician report stating cataracts and a claim form signed by the surgeon stating cataracts, NowHealth denied the claim saying that the reason for the surgery was not cataracts but vision correction.

- I obtained a letter from the surgeon reaffirming that the reason for the surgery was cataracts.  Once the letter was sent to NowHealth, they pivoted asking for info on onset of condition, diagnosis, treatment plan (all of which is included in the optician report) as well as what previous treatment took place (there was none).  NowHealth also claimed they didn’t have the payment receipt, although they did.  I experienced this as a thinly veiled attempt to deny the claim on the basis of a preexisting condition.

- When it was pointed out to them that they already had all the info requested in the optician report, they still demanded a letter from the optician restating that info.  I escalated to their CEO and NowHealth claims reviewers backed off that request.

- They then applied an in-patient claim (high deductible) to an out-patient procedure (low deductible). When disputed, they reclassified it as a day-patient claim (same high deductible). Their definition of "day-patient" includes any procedure requiring “medically supervised recovery.” Although I explained that the procedure was a simple, non-anesthetic, half-hour procedure after which I went home immediately, they insisted on yet another letter from the surgeon to now confirm these details.

- Finally, nearly two months later and after much jumping through hoops, they ran out of excuses and settled the claim.

I view this continuing three ring circus  as a thinly veiled attempt to deny coverage.  As a retired person, I had the time and fortitude to jump through the various hoops.  I wonder how many others would have simply given up, which I suspect was Now Health’s expectation.   My insurance broker, who was heavily involved in the entire process, cannot believe how uncooperative and unprofessional Now Health has been.

There is a recurring theme in the reviews on Now Health that it is a company that will try anything possible to deny coverage.  This certainly was my experience.   They may entice you with attractive premiums, but they will fight your claim to the bitter end.

 If you’d like your insurance claims to be settled in a manner comparable to bargaining for a carpet in a Middle Eastern bazaar, Now Health is the way to go.   Sensible people should avoid them at all costs.

The benefits are great, the direct billing process is smooth, and the customer care service is excellent (in my case, Ibu Ratna Siswoyo). Selalu juara!

Not only is she efficient with standard and more difficult issues that might arise, but she is so kind and caring and remembers me as an individual. Always ready with an encouraging word, she has brightened up my day many a time. I cannot express how thankful I am to have her helping me!

I submitted a legitimate claim in April and as of today 6th Sept 2024 it remains upapproved due to relentless stalling and requests for information that is unrelated to my claim.
I have responded to several absurd information requests and everytime I provde a document or clarification, NOW HEALTH INTERNATIONAL come up with yet anothe rdocument I need to provide, it is now at the end of my current policy and it would appear unless I renew my policy (with a medical prvider who will not pay) then my clain will sinply be binned as I am not a policy holder.
in 25 years living as an expatriate, this medical provider is by far the worst I have ever had the misfortune to engage and buy a USD$5,000 policy

Having previously experienced superb customer and medical services from NOW, I once again found myself in circumstances where I needed a decision, outside the box. Customer Services and the Technical team excelled, once again!!!

Excellent service from ABUBAKER at NowHealth!!!

I had a few questions regarding a claim, so I connected with NowHealth via WhatsApp.....I then requested that they give me a call to discuss my concerns...shortly thereafter I received a call from ABUBAKER!

ABUBAKER was very professional and knowledgeable of the claim process. He was also extremely patient (although I had tons of questions:) ), and he spoke clearly and slowly to ensure that I understood what he was explaining. Before I spoke with him....I was a bit anxious because I didn't have a full understanding of what was required and I immediately thought that my claim was being denied.....however, the explanation from ABUBAKER was all I needed to settle my mind!

A very professional and timely assistance by ibu Dewi Tambunan in assisting in the settlement of our bill at the Mayapada Hospital ( after being pre approved ) as well as immediate action in making sure that payment is settled properly.

When I think customer service, my blood pressure rises. NOW insurance is the first to have changed my perspective. For all big and small matters, Ms. Ratna Siswoyo have always handled my queries promptly and sincerely. She has shown professionalism and knowledge, giving my family security, knowing that we can rely on NOW. Thank you Ms. Ratna and NOW.

This is my first submission of claims after all these years. I was especially daunted on the submission procedure, but I felt so comforted by the support from customers services, especially from Maja Mucibabic, who patiently took me through the process of submission & documents requested.
I thought this must be a road block from processing claim.
However I stand corrected, as long as the submission procedure is done with the proper documentation, everything turned out well.
I was able to obtain approval after 2 working days.
Clearly this implies that if all proper documentation & forms had been submitted as requested, the review process would be smooth & without issues.
Once again my kudos to NOW health customer services & claims personnel’s for their professionalism which cannot be faulted.
My heartfelt thanks at these times of my life.

I always get fast replies to any query. The cover is excellent but it is pricey. I recently had to get pre-authorisation for surgery which they sorted for me pretty quickly so I did not have to wait longer. All in all, I am happy with the service NOW Health provides.

I needed a second opinion and now health sorted it out.
