Very prompt efficient service

Daylight Robbery mr D Turpin - maybe a better name ! Called charged £42 for a call out. Told them on the phone exactly what was wrong. Promised someone would come that day, took money 10 mins later got a call to say that they could not make it. Told them was not available the next day but available day after. They kept calling on day I was not available saying they had tried to visit. Arrived the following day diagnosed exactly what I had told them and tried to charge £510 to change a £46.99 valve! Called to complain and was told they can justify their prices ! Anyone mad enough to use them carry on. She did say she would refund the £42 but still waiting. Only gave them one star as could not write a warning if I gave them zero

Failed Part replaced same day but system not checked before engineer left. Told us to leave for 2 hours but when we started system still not working properly. Office then closed for weekend and bank holiday. Suspect he didn’t want to stay on to make sure system worked. Second engineer came 3 days later and eventually sorted the problems. One problem was valve had not been turned on again. Be aware that labour charges are very high. Would not use again.

Booked for extra sockets took time off work so I could be at home when they came they phoned and told me was unavailable so said they would come the following day phoned at 9am to find out what time they were coming said they would let me know waited a few hours phoned them and was told not available so canceled job very poor

Never, ever use this company. They create fake websites to make it appear as though they are local, but they are not. Their website features several different pages for various towns in South Wales, each with a local-looking number, but they are not genuinely based in most of these areas.

They charge nearly £50 in advance as a call-out fee, then make you wait all day – only to phone just before 5pm to cancel. In my case, I lost a full day’s work.

On their website, they state: “Welcome to M.J. Harris Plumbing Repairs Carmarthen. We’re a family-run business employing fully qualified plumbers who are local and ready to help in Carmarthen. This means a FAST RESPONSE and more reliability.”

Almost all of this is untrue. I run a small family business myself, and I would never let my customers down in this way.

Hi there was a miscommunication to start with. I'm 80 years old so there's a clue.
But the service wad carried out to my total satisfaction

We were promised that the repair man would arrive on two successive days, but he did not. The second time i was told he "was on his way" which was untruthful.
i had to call on the third day for him to arrive.
once he came he fixed the fault easily. So no complaints about him, just the way you keep customers informed

Our toilet developed a problem flushing solids. The attending plumber stated that the toilet had been incorrectly installed (eight years earlier) and they were amazed it had worked for as long as it had without developing this problem. Here, I made my first mistake, which was accepting that what the plumber was saying was correct, despite it not making much sense. Their solution was to raise the toilet on a plinth at a cost of £515! This was my second mistake, accepting the quote, however I wanted the issue fixed and was concerned that it might stop flushing completely.

Following installation of the plinth and the damage to the bathroom cabinetry associated with this, of course, the problem was not fixed at all! A plumber returned to the premises (once I paid another £42) and stated that limescale build up was the cause of the issue. On having the limescale removed, the issue was fixed.

I spoke with an administrator about this,who reported that the plumber felt the initial work had been necessary however I don't see how they can rightly say this, as it had no impact upon the issue whatsoever. A promised follow up telephone conversation with a senior member of staff did not occur.
Fortunately, my legs are longer than average because I now have a very high toilet to sit on plus I am faced with a further bill for repairing the bathroom cabinetry. They were kind enough to refund the second £42 call out fee, for which I am eternally grateful, thank you MJ Harris, you are too kind :)

Marius did an excellent job and responded quickly to help us meet the office opening deadline.

However, the price charged for the work was excessive

The response of the engineer was prompt, he worked out the situation quckly and addressed the problem efficiently.
He was professional and friendly

Very expensive service for a simple waste pipe job. I would urge other customers to try and get other quotes to check affordability. Unfortunately, we are new to Bath and just went with it.

Was punctual and did the work quickly. After fitting the flue the engineer tested the boiler and said it was now safe.
