Big problem fast solution
Straight forward company to deal with, easy and pleasant experience. Tommy fixed the blockage problem within 10 minutes and provided advice on how to avoid in future. Would definitely use MJ Harris again in the future, highly recommend them.

Shower Issues
I paid £40 plus for the call out fee which was around 10am, at 4pm I got a call saying the plumber would only be able to attend the following day. The plumber came through first thing (8:30), informed that we would need a new shower unit and taps and he would come out the following day to install. The gentleman was really accomodating and stayed on to do the job as I had arranged time off. He was very helpful and did a great job but an extremel expensive day

Twice the price for half the work
Very obviously overcharge to make as much profit as possible with no quality or craftsmanship on show.
I had 8 quotes for a simple boiler change, with a new thermostat.
These guys were *thousands* of pounds more than anybody else. Actually over double the price for less work. For no real obvious reason than they thought they could get away with it.
Also I almost forgot, they tried to say there was a £40 call out charge! For a quote!
Clearly taking advantage and looking at Company house, can see why they made 350k last year alone.
It pays to shop around and find multiple quotes so you don't overpay.
Lastly, out of all the quotes I received everyone took about an hour. Knew what they were talking about and made recommendations on different work ideas.
Their engineer took over 1.5hrs and spent over an hour on his phone having to constantly call/text his "mate". This is because by his own admission he didn't know what he was doing and was needing to ask others.
It really came across as unprofessional.
The quote price really left a sour taste in my mouth given the experience (or lack there of).

We have a call out charge of £42.00 that covers the engineers travel, to carry out a visual inspection and to provide a quotation. We feel that this is a reasonable charge to send an engineer. This is explained at the time of booking and of course you are not obligated to go ahead.
In regards to the pricing, these are our charges and what we have to charge to be able to operate as a business. Whilst we are family run we fully employ all 17 of our engineers as well as an office team. Our charges cover staff salaries, office premises, vehicles, training, VAT and much more. As stated above, you are not obligated to go ahead with any quotations provided.
We will be sure to pass on your feedback.

New shower
I called at11am, as my shower had been leaking for a while (waiting for a plumber to quote to repair!) I was telephoned by 11.30. Tom was on his way. He said he could replace the shower now. He did. Fantastic service. Could not fault any part of the service. I would recommend 100%.

Excellent from start to finish
I am new to the area so called a few drainage companies M J Harris stood out from the start, I had to wait in a phone queue, but that shows how popular they are, they gave me a rough price, and an appointment for the following day. Jason called 1/2 hr before his arrival, drain un blocked within 1/2hr, and not far off the original quote.

Good, Polite, Efficient but a little pricey
Nathan was excellent at fixing the problem - very polite to deal with. Admin staff were very efficient and helpful too. Only reason for giving 4 rather than 5 stars was the cost. £199.50 (excluding £42 call out fee) seemed a little steep to me. I had already partially unblocked it with caustic soda a couple of days before when visiting my mum, but simply ran out of time to have another attempt. I couldn't leave her to sort it on her own - she's 88 years of age - so called in M J Harris. Thank you.
