As mentioned in previous reviews, Livedrive also lost a bunch of my files. I have a support ticket that's been opened for 2 years about it and every time I inquire about the situation, they politely respond that they are doing some diagnostics, server scans, etc...
In the last reply to my request for an update, they now blamed me for not having properly uploaded the files:

All investigations on this issue indicate that during either the initial upload, or a subsequent update, the transmission of the data from the PC and the Livedrive servers was interrupted. It is impossible at this time to determine without any uncertainty as to exactly why this has happened, although some of the most probable reasons could have been caused by a PC crashing or shutting down unexpectedly, such as a forced shutdown.

This is false, they even have a tool in their syncing software to check the integrity of all the files and it never failed.
I suspect that Livedrive was the victim of a major data center outage or issue or even a ransomware attack and did in fact lose a bunch of its customer data. This is very bad.
Also, at the end of my subscription, transfer speeds were incredibly low. We are talking a couple of megabytes per second, absolutely pathetic!
Now, I would not even choose them as my 3rd cloud backup option even if it was free, which they are not, they are actually very expensive!
AVOID THIS PROVIDER AT ALL COSTS.

This sounds a lot like a massive data loss or something worst that you are not telling.

Then I never had any updates about this alleged scan... Now your narrative has changed by trying to blame me for the missing files.
At the end of the day, I should not worry if my files are uploaded correctly or not. Or if I would be able to get them back. Also, you did not address the slow transfer speed issue.

Does not safely store files. Avoid.
Livedrive's purpose is to safely store files. Unfortunately it does not do this. Since September 2020 I have had over 1000 files which, although successfully uploaded to Livedrive, livedrive's systems cannot access them. This isn't a case that the files were not uploaded in the first place, as they are showing as uploaded on the website, just unable to retrieve. Their support is polite, and confirms each time I ask that the matter is being looked into... but it simply doesn't work as intended.

Yes, it’s very sad that they just announced a price increase. Unfair. It annoys me. And yet the service is good.

Great pricing, but unreliable, many times when try to restore files to find files unable to restore even though you can see them on the list.
Use it as a secondary backup of your main backup or you may be sorry when you do need your data back in a hurry.
The software is OLD !!! Still listed as for Windows 7, sure it works under 8 and 10 but clearly showed not updated for many years, sometime I do wonder if all my files are backed up or not as the software just spin and spin showing upload status, and often one will find a long list of files not uploaded for unknown reason, the files are not opened, yet it just refused to upload.
These guys really need to get their fingers out and start again with better software and more reliable storage, after almost 7 years with them I am at the point of giving up and run our own SFTP server instead of paying for LD, it wont be as flexible as LD but at least I know my data will be a lot safer.

Why does a free trial need a credit card?
I instinctively get nervous when I'm offered a free trial but they want my credit card first. Anyway, went ahead with it and found it didn't recognise my partitioned virtual D drive so filled in the form to cancel. Not cancelled but they sent me an acknowledgement and told me to expect an email. I got an email and am told I have to ring them to expedite the cancellation! Rang them and the man was very helpful and closed the account. But why the hoops?

Livedrive can't be trusted
When I signed up for Livedrive it was with a lifetime guarantee that the price would not be raised on my subscription. Ever. It was very clearly stated.
Now Livedrive have announced a more than 100% increase in my yearly subscription fee.
How can I thrust them taking care of my data when they can't keep a very simple and very clear promise?

Nothing but a bunch of highwaymen with 100% price increases
Have used Livedrive for many years, and today received an email that the rates are going to be increased by 100% next year. You must be out of your minds to use a firm like this. I asked for a refund for the funds I have paid and they refused - but simply there is no point in me using the remaining 6 months on my account knowing that the account will be deleted when I don't renew. Find yourself a more realistic backup provider.

Cancelled account
I have received an email saying the cost of the subscription is going up. I have cancelled this last year after the last subscription. I can’t get in touch to cancel again because I’ve not got a login as it was installed on an old computer by a company and there doesn’t seem to be any way to reset the login. I will have to write to you again obviously. So frustrating please can someone reply to this review from your company? My credit card company say they have to honour it if you take the subscription out!!

This is a highly responsive company.
They stay with you and check on your progress until any issue you might have is resolved.
The staff are patient, well trained and know their stuff.

Terrible service with no meaningful technical support. Data corrupts once once their servers and becomes irretrievable. Stay away form these clowns at all costs. You have been warned!

Cloud Backup underlying software is LiveDrive and is not fit for purpose
(Currys) Team KnowHow sell Cloud Backup of which the unerlying software is a reseller of LiveDrive. Accepting that I did not buy the software directly from LiveDrive, I still find the software unfit for purpose. Backups fail, reinstalling starts the whole backup process again and once the files are backed up, complete folders will not restore (0 files restored even with overwrite selected to a new location). Team KnowHow have zero Know How on this software and are unable or unwilling to help. LiveDrive do not help 3rd party customers. I dont expect the sofware to function any differently regardless of who it is purchased from. I have purchased a backup solution which us not fit for purpose with zero support.

No payment notifications. No online cancellation function.
1. Be aware that Livedrive will not notify you that your subscription is running - they will keep taking your money for years on end until you notice the payments silently going out from your bank account.
2. There is no facility to cancel online. You have to ring them up, where you get a muffled answerphone. That said, they will ring you back and then cancel. But the lack of automatic cancellation is a device to keep you paying.
Worth every penny
The system causes no inconvenience 99.9% when i is just backing up in the background. On the rare occasions files go missing or get corrupted it its worth its weight in gold.
