we can not use their service from iran! why dont you support us?
I created a new account and minutes after giving my credit card information they cancelled my account. I have never had any problem of that nature, in fact I have subscriptions in competitor's services without any problem.
I then tried to contact support via email but received no response.
First and last experience, I do not recommend it at all.
Bloody fraudsters, they accuse customers of being frauds
The company charge my card and ban my account. I can't trust linode at all. Just a bunch of liars

I have been using their services for about 5 years. Recently tried creating account for another customer but it failed. I thought may be there is some problem in the email address or credit card info so I tried several combinations and none of them worked. Whatever I do they always reject the new account creation saying "This was due to activity or patterns associated with fradulent behaviour". It seems after aquisition by Akamai they people from Linode dont want to get new customers.

Immediately canceled my “account” after getting all of my personal information and credit card detail.

Good experience.
I have had several linodes over many years and have had no issues with their support or payment handling. The servers have been reliable and downtime has been negligible. My over-all experience is positive and good.

Their support was very responsive and helpful in solving my issue. I am very happy for the options they provide and the excellent customer service that comes with it.
"A recently created account with this email address was canceled by our automated systems. This was due to activity or patterns associated with fraudulent behavior. Additional attempts to sign up may also be rejected."
This is what they told me after I tried to make an account. I tried to fill in everything correctly and did everything as they said, only to be terminated right after.
When mailing them I got no response and calling them didnt work because they hang up immediately. Can't seem to contact them anywhere :/ :/ :/
They are doing their best to keep an illegal dmca infringing site online, they'll just bounce back with as many questions as they can to stall the time and earn money from the client who pays for the hosting.

Well linode is ok!!
but they need to be a little faster with the support
so i -1 star due to the fact that support could be slow.
but it's 100% human support so that is expected.
You need to have some basic knowledge on linux os.
It's not for newbies . Since its not fully managed like other hosting providers.
I think most of the negative reviews are bit misleading since it hold no real bases .
Linode is pretty very much reliable.
It's very easy to use.
For newbies please use the marketplace .
it makes life much easier for you.
For experts
Installing your own distro .
is better for me.
Anyways 4 out of 5.
Linode is ok.!
They did not let me sign up without my credit card info and once they received all the data, my application was rejected stating that my activity may be fraud related. What a crazy thing. Now they got my credit card data…
They are pretty much a scam when it comes to the price. Linode has made things simpler, but their price is expensive, pretending to be cheap, they charge you as a customer to pay tax. Check the invoice, when you buy their services and they don't even mention the tax until you get the invoice. I would say, stay away from them.

Linode is not great, they couldn’t handle our kub-cluster capacity so we had to move to AWS a much larger provider.
Support was very slow, took days to fix easy issues. Overall in the end they couldn’t handle our large infrastructure and we had to move elsewhere.
Infra is okay but management is very bad, I don’t recommend hosting large infrastructure here.

It the price seems ok until they send you the invoice, the invoice will be a suprice for all. They will add extra price for this and that and also tax, they force the customers to pay for it. Not good...

I have been hosting multiple VPSs for different projects, as well as running a web-hosting business for 4 years until the pandemic hit.
I was being charged either separately for services, or from multiple service providers.
As I web host/design I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos, and it was there I found Linode. At first I was going to have all my projects on multiple small Linodes, then came to the realisation - these are all low traffic - and if one project needed to break away to a new Linode - then that would be the case.
The provisioning of Linodes is intuitive, the billing is simple, and you have FULL access to the Linode - so you have complete control over the 'server'.
I was having issues sending email - and after a day of searching the web - I realised that Linode restricts those - for good reason. A ticket later, and everything is up and running.
Linode is not for the faint-hearted - you are left on your own - but this is for developers by developers, if you don't know how to setup a Linux Server - then this service is not for you, as the Linodes (servers) are unmanaged - that is, you break it - you fix it.

En terminos es bueno pero trae consigo fallas, lo bueno es que puede bajar el precio de tu maquina si en caso no esta sastifecho pero trae consigo errores aveces no se enciende se trava y lo peor elimine los servidores pero no se eliminaron , deje de usarlo, para luego dame cuenta que me estaba cobrando a escondidas , pero bueno cada uno tiene su propio opinion yo solo cuento mi experiencia, me quitaro dinero nisiquiera le usaba xd

Despicable.
The company suspended our account because we did not update our contact name on the file. We were offline for ONE HOUR and our business was out for one hour on a busy Monday morning. They said they sent us support tickets and we didn't respond, so they suspended our account to get our attention! WTH. Our business was out for 1 HOUR.
First of all, we don't just sit around and respond to tickets, we have got a business to run.
Secondly, it was for a contact name that didn't get updated. Do you really need to suspend our account for that? We have been with you for five years! This company has changed after the acquisition.
Thirdly, there are so many other ways you can reach out to us, like direct email (Vs. a support ticket - we thought it was a response to close a ticket) or sms to get our attention
Overall, this experience has made us realize that we ought to switch to a provider that cares more about their customers and user experience. What gave them the right or authority to shut down our business just because of a contact name?
We don't believe this is the vendor we want to stick around. We will take action to switch to another more credible vendors

I really wouldn't bother, not reliable at all, always issues, connection problems and downtime, I can't say anything but beware you will be very disappointed.
Very smooth, reliable, and trustable. I had no problem with Linode compared to other services.
