made lots of deposits on a card not in…

made lots of deposits on a card not in my name. they accepted all deposits over a period of time. I made more deposits and then tried to cashout. My account was immediately suspended. IBAS say that because the funds came from a 3rd party I have no rights to withdraw any funds. So, Betfred can take your money but when you cashout they dont allow. much more to follow

Unfortunately there are risks associated with using someone else's card to pay for gambling transactions. If you're unhappy with our Adjudication Panel's decision and you think a company has got away with an unfair practice, you could always share your concerns with the industry's regulator, the Gambling Commission.

My case with ibas was truly extraordinary and is as clear and concise an example of how they side with operator's based on an imbalance of power, only when they are called out but those who know what they are about do they then apologies and make up excuses.
This organisation when siding with an operator against me quoted WRONG terms and conditions and provided WRONG information, these ofcourse were used as clearly stated by them to adjudicate against me however when it was put to them the the t&C's that they quoted where emphatically wrong as was the information that the operator provided that ibas quoted ( it suddenly was a mute point)- basically it only becomes a mute point when IBAS are called out for their incompetence, lack of diligence and habitual process of quoting operator's terms and conditions.
For everyone out their don't use this service they are emphatically not fit for purpose, are legally misguided and only use retrospective examples of previous adjudications when its used to side with the operator. We all know that the gambling Industry has gone to pot, this lot are part of the problem. They are so legally profoundly incompetent that their service can not and never will be an appropriate place to legally challenge an operator who can't wait to pass you on to this organisation... Ask yourself why?

Ps the gambling operator is not an agent of the tote and tote bets absolutely can be cancelled before the first the race- don't let gambling operator's tell you otherwise and certainly don't let ibas copy and paste the operator's legally wrong terms and conditions.

IBAS is an absolute must for all online…

IBAS is an absolute must for all online and/or shop gamers. Ultimately, they are the fairness and pieceof mind between customers who feel aggrieved/chested by bookmarks.

However, playing devil'sadvocate, they are also vital for gaming operators who also need shielding/protection from problem gamers looking to blame anyone but themselves.

I found the IBAS process, kind, non judgemental, transparent and totally fair and reasonable.

The IBAS teams respond promptly efficiently and effectively

They should never become the UK Ombudsman

There is no way u should be allowed to run as the ombudsman. The service should be totally independant and have nothing to do with you and the pathetic imcompetent UKGC. We need someone who can actually put pressure on the UKGC and tell them how incompetent thay really are. The problem is that gambling still has so much corruption and deceit and lies involved and we need someone who can investigate companies like playtech and evolution gaming etc and dig deep onto the fraud from countries like Malta and Latvia that have online casinos so rigged its fraudalent how thay are allowed to operate.

Fantastic company ,

Had a dispute with a company who said they were excluding a card I used but I missed the email and kept depositing money which was accepted over and over by betting company . Betting company shut my account suddenly and thst is when I found out they had emailed to
Advise exclusion of a card. Betting company refused to return my deposit money
Contacted IBAS spoke to a James Ironside and this man listened , understood and passed on complaint to the adjudicators, who after 6 weeks made a final decision the betting company was wrong and I just had my significant deposit returned into my account from the betting company today
Totally over the moon , I cannot thank IBAS enough for their patience with me and their help , I would have been lost without them
Totally recommend this company

put an anti post 8 fold…

had put an anti post 8 fold football bet with sky bet in October and a few months later because all of the selections where all doing very well for the £15 stake they where offering £217 on the cash out obviously with a long way to go of the football season , i let it go on because the pay out if all came in was exactly £12,278 but then a few days later after most of the selections had a good weekend i logged in to the account only to see a pop up message wich stated that the account had been suspended they said to send in some photo with ID wich I did and then they kept saying the same thing asking the same over and over for months till eventually got fed up of it all as it looked in Feb--march time that the bet was going to go down but it has now eventually won all 8 selections have come in , and suddenly after the confirmed winners had been sorted Sky bet re opened the account and in amasment the bet had one selection changed and where confirmed runners up they had changed Portsmouth in league 1 wich where champions to Derby county runners up but Derby was a totally different price at 7s to Portsmouth at 6s meaning that the amount would not add up to what was written down on the betslip after it was placed because the only selection wich would of paid out the £12,278 was Portsmouth, Derby would of been over £14k but they had changed even that 100% they have committed fraud and only re opened my account after the winners where confirmed and IBAS has told me that they can't do nothing won't even contact them about it even to ask as to why was there a cash out offered so high to this bet of £217 after a short period wich if it had derby in it wich where in 5th place at that time the offer was made and where 10 points adrift they would not of been offering even the stake back if it was Derby in the bet it is obvious that the team Portsmouth which was in it was doing very well , on top 4 points clear that is why they where offering this £217 at that time and when after the following weekend results won they suddenly suspended the account and did not open it up even thou everything that was asked for was sent then all of a sudden they asked again for ID and re opened my account after Portsmouth where confirmed winners and they had removed them and re placed with a looser the season was over it stinks to the hilt of fraud and IBAS don't want to know and they are the police of the Gambling industry don't know who to turn to my god how on earth can they get away with stealing over £12k from someone that have chosen rightly 8 selections and waited 8 months for it horrible people in this world and IBAS can't be asked even to go and ask some questions inspecialy about why they where offering such a cash out with one selection 10 points behind it not hard is it to work my god our police not bothered about a fraud such as this , (Ron hearn) remember the name in charge of my complaint is such an arrogant person who 100% should not be working with such a firm to help people but he does nothing to help anyone its like he is on the bookies side dont think he has anything between them eyes who else is out there to try and sort something like this as IBAS is none existing in specially when on the other side you have Ron Hearn my god what a nightmare

I have seen the messages that you exchanged with Ron and I think it is completely unfair to say that he is not bothered.

IBAS can only look into a complaint when a company's own, in-house complaints process has been finished. The company then provides you with a reference to IBAS and that signals the start of our process. Ron has explained that we can't look at your case until that reference has arrived. He is not trying to stop you getting a fair outcome, he is just doing his job.

I am aware that you feel strongly about this and have sent us a handwritten list of the teams that you selected but we do need you to show us that the company has referred your case to IBAS before we can look into what's happened.

Ibas in the bookies pocket

I was using IBAS to resolve a dispute with Copybet bookmakers as they froze my account when I requested a withdrawal. I sent copybet bank’s statements, bank cards and id, but they refused to reply to any of my requests. They replied to ibas’s request but would not email me personally. Copybet now just emailed me personally for the first time in months, asking for a bank statement. I REFUSE to give copybet my bank statement as they are a rogue company and I DO NOT trust them with sensitive information. Copybet had previous bank statements clearly showing copybet on a deposit. I informed ron hearn(ibas) of this. He has now sided with Copybet as I refuse to give them any more of my documents. When it became apparent that I wasn’t prepared to give copybet anymore documents, Ron Hearn's(IBAS) became arrogant and condescending on his final emails to me, Not fully recognising that id been scammed and was at my whits end. I will now disrupt copybet and its endorsers on the race course as IBAS and the gambling commission are in bed the copybet and bookies in general. The whole racing community, riders, trainers, owners, IBAS and the gambling commission are all paid by bookies one way or another. The arrogance is astounding

IN RESPONSE TO IBAS’S REPLY. I WAS USING MY CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS WHEN I MADE SEVERAL DEPOSITS BEFORE ANY ISSUES. I HAVE RECEIVED EMAILS FROM COPYBET DATING BACK TO JAN 24 USING MY CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS. I WISH I COULD POST IMAGES OF THESE EMAILS ON HERE. THIS DOESN’T CHANGE THE FACT THAT IBAS ARE FUNDED AND INFLUENCED BY THE BOOKMAKERS. COPYBET HAVE SCAMMED ME AND YOU SIDED WITH THE SCAMMERS.

IVE JUST RECENTLY SELF EXCLUDED MYSELF FROM COPYBET IN THE HOPE OF GETTING MY MONEY BACK. JUST HAD AN EMAIL CONFIRMING SELF EXCLUSION. THE SAME EMAIL IBAS CLAIM WAS ANOTHER. ANOTHER SHOCKER FROM IBAS. IN THE BOOKIES POCKETS

A few observations from reviewing your file.

1) According to regulatory standards (beyond IBAS's control) a business has up to 8 weeks to respond to a customer complaint. We understand it is frustrating if companies don't communicate well during this period of time, but that isn't our fault and we can't make it pass any quicker and we can't begin to look at a case until the 8 weeks is up.

2) It seems to us that the main problem with communications from the company not reaching you is that you changed your email address and the company did not have your new address on file. Again, that can't be IBAS's fault.

3) I promise you that every member of our team is doing their best to help resolve betting disputes fairly. They are only human and sometimes they can become frustrated too if they don't believe their advice/assistance is being listened to.

I am sorry you felt condascended in the way we wrote to you, but once the company's complaints process has been completed you can come back to us then if you want.

Great impartial service!

Great impartial service!! Scammy Paddy retail shop refused to pay 1k in dog winnings reffering to a "!!business decision??" so I had to contact IBAS. Without this service those billionaire fatcats could add another 1k to pay for those lovely escorts, restaurants, yahts, jets and private islands they spending the immasurable exess they make from selling terrible odds to the stupid masses.

So far so good with hardly any response from the gambling site and refusing to payout 18k winnings it has resulted in a deadlock and involving IBAS, case is still on going but Danny is very prompt at replying and very helpful thank you IBAS for this service

Brilliant service

Brilliant service. My complaint was with Aspire Global who are most definitely the most corrupt casino. IBAS are very fair and looked into my complaint throughly and without judgement. The casino were instructed to pay net deposits and not the winnings which is fine. Obviously I would’ve preferred the winnings but totally understand the ruling. Thank you to James and Jim who reply to all emails very quickly.

Absolutely terrible communication (other than Jim). No ruling received. Phoned at least 40 times at different times of the day and every time the same message stating that they are busy.

Is IBAS fit for purpose?

I had a recent dispute with Betfair over a bet they voided over an hour after an incident had occurred in a big football tournament.

About 20 mins into a game I made a trade back bet and a lay bet later on to look to make a small profit as it is a trading platform.

Everything onscreen showed the transactions going through and the bet matching.

Shortly after the game finished they voided my lay bet which left my original back bet exposed. There was no indication on the betfair screens that there was any issue with the bet.

If there are incidents in a game, the market should be kept suspended until the outcomes have been settled and then the market is unsuspended. Betfair failed to do this for me and many other customers.

Betfair are leaving customers unaware that their trades despite showing correctly on the screen may be voided and left financially exposed if there is a game incident which the trading floors do not correct in play.

Betfair uses this to take retrospective action:

“If [the company] does not suspend a market on time for the occurrence of a Material
Event, [the company] reserves the right to void bets matched after the Material Event
has occurred. Voiding of these bets may take place during the event or
retrospectively once a game is completed"

It's the retrospective nature that makes betfair an unsafe trading platform.

I understand the need for a retrospective nature of a Sportsbook for instance if a favourite goalscorer like Harry Kane was given odds of 100 or 1000/1 instead of maybe a 4/1 price, this would be a clear and obvious error. But when there a game incident and the traders fail to do their job, the customer is left to take the fallout.

IBAS has in their terms that they promote fair and transparent business practice terms yet side with Betfair who don't promote this.

If a customer is completely unaware that they are financially exposed through no fault of their own and this is deemed fair and transparent, I have to wonder if IBAS is fit for purpose.

I know from betting forums and Betfairs own forum that lots of customers are experiencing this yet they are allowed to get away with it time and time again.

I'm sorry to read of your disappointment with our Panel's ruling.

You say that "the customer is left to take the fallout" of markets being left open when they should have been suspended, but the nature of a betting exchange is that one customer benefits when another suffers. If we reached a different decision, it would be a different customer, not the company, who suffered. So while in most cases we take into account the imbalance in power between company and customer, in exchange transactions the dispute dynamics are often slightly different.

In this case, our Panel decided that it was reasonable for the company to resettle markets, making void bets struck during a period where the markets should have been suspended. That decision took into account the effects on both the backer and layer.

As with all IBAS decisions, if you believe them to be unfair you are free to pursue the matter through the small claims court system.

My name is Aaron and I think it is a disgrace how I only JUST got a response back from my complaint. Nearly a year after complaint. Of course in bed with the bookmaker!

2. The bets were as follows:
£600 on Iryna Shymanovich at odds of 4/9 to win game 2, set 1 of her match against
Caijsa Wilda Henneman
£310 on Iryna Shymanovich at 4/9 to win game 2, set 1 of her match against Caijsa
Wilda Henneman
£101 on Lavinia Tanasie at 4/1 to win game 5, set 3 of her match against Martina
Caregaro
£676 on Maileen Nuudi at 10/21 to win game 2, set 1 of her match against Enola
Chiesa

Corals response was.
5. The operator responds that because of a technical problem with their live feed,
markets on the above matches did not suspend on time, allowing bets to be placed
after the outcome was known.
6. The operator has supplied system data showing that the customer’s bets on
Shymanovich were late by 32sec and 56sec, the bet on Tanasie was late by 71sec
and the bet on Nuudi was late by 46sec

If there was a technical error then why wasnt the market cancelled? As a punter I can not tell that I am 1 minute or less late when placing a bet? If they have the market open then that means under UK gambling Act laws they are accepting the bet? i do not accept these findings and I want my £4,788.40 back! I am not even complaining about the odds I am complaining that they accepted my bet yet didnt close the market then they are saying seconds is the reason why it would invalid. Complete clowns!

Then why is it that I place a bet and they use seconds as an excuse for taking away my winnings. That does not give the punter an opportunity to win. I placed my money on markets that I thought was active and live to my knowledge. I only have the betting website as a guide. I do not have access to any other live sport feed. Coral does. Yet they still offered those odds and accepted the bet. This basically means that any markets they deem they can turn around and "void" or class as "late bets" or even hide behind palpable error. So it isnt palpable error or late if I lose my bets? The opportunity for the bookmaker to win exists when they draw up the odds! My opportunity is when I put my money on the line! IBAS can only be on the side of bookmakers! I did not have access to data on the exact second my bet was placed vs what coral says happened in real life when each point was won! That data I have not been shown.

All I could do was login and place my bets. I had no stream and no live data available. Just a market that I decided to bet on!

Please Please Never rely on IBAS they are in bed with the bookies.

I'm sorry that you were disappointed by your ruling. We accept that you had no idea that the outcomes of these bets had already been determined when you placed them, but our Panel's ruling also explained:

"11. One of the essential conditions which must be satisfied before a bet can be considered valid is that both parties must have an opportunity either to win or to lose. It follows that any bet struck on an event that has already occurred must be declared void"

We stand by that as a principle of fairness. It's not about taking 'their' side or 'yours'.

If you want to pursue the case through the small claims court system, we would advise you to consider taking independent legal advice first. If you do take the case to court and the court upholds your claim, please share the judgement with us so we can take its findings into account for future similar cases.

Five stars for these guys

Five stars for these guys. I had a dispute with a lesser known UK based online casino and sports bookie.

Long story short, they made my life hell to get a withdrawal by way of red tape.

When I went to IBAS, the bookie no longer contested the case and I received the withdrawal amount which I was entitled too.

I still feel like it was a total waste of time being on that site, but I wouldn't have got the cash back without IBAS so it would have been an even worse loss.

I would also extend a quick personal thanks to James and Ron at IBAS who handled my case. Very friendly, professional and they know what they're doing.

Insufficient, lacking any substance.

IBAS garnish themselves with a 90-day turnaround time, so you would expect them to provide a reasonable level of detail in response to a complaint.

After 80+ days, my report contained no more than 10 bullet points altogether, each of which had incredibly limited scope or detail. Furthermore, the report itself had overlooked or ignored several aspects of the complaint that I had raised, the panel choosing instead to focus their measly 2 points of attention on elements that obviously looked favourable for the betting company (e.g., 'they have a line in their policy on their website').

The complaint that I submitted included multiple pieces of evidence, as well as pages of explanation, detail and rationale for the claim I was making against the betting company. IBAS' response to my arguments? 4 small bullet points, 1 of which was only to flippantly dismiss the level of education that I hold in the area of sports analysis.

For a service that is paid for by financial giants like the companies they supposedly hold to account, it doesn't half seem that they are far from 'independent', but their customer service is borderline non-existent. When it does appear however, it is sharp, rude, and totally unsympathetic.

The only credit that I can give to them is the simplicity of their online complaint system. Outside of this - they're not worth your time.

I wouldn't bother using them again - go straight to the small claims court if you have a fair complaint to raise.

I have read through your case file and can assure you that careful analysis of the disputed market was conducted by our panel, and that as part of the adjudication process the bookmaker was challenged to explain the rationale of comparative prices/offers that you submitted as part of your case.

Had a great experience with Mr Ironside…

Had a great experience with Mr Ironside at IBAS. He assisted very professionally with my bets with Betfred. The Betfred Croydon area manager refused to pay me the higher odds when the bets were struck because the horse odds I wrote had drifted out and both won. There had been countless number of occasions where I had written the odds on the slip and the price have shortened and I have had to accept the lesser price.

The difference were £575, a large amount and thankfully Betfred came to their senses and paid out. The rule is that all odds taken on shop bets should be honoured if you take the price at the time when the bet is struck and not what odds you have written down or asked for which can differ. Not sure why the area manager decided to go against their rules.

Try IBAS to help, worked for me

I contacted IBAS to help me solve a dispute and Jim Cremin came to the rescue, i don’t think i would have received my winnings without his guidance. Thanks Jim! IBAS made a massive difference. If you have a grievance contact IBAS and copy them in on any emails you have with any gaming site who is reluctant to pay out. Worked for me

IBAS vs Aspire Global, a Christmas miracle.

I had issues with multiple bookmakers all owned and run by Aspire Global. Horse racing bets across all my accounts were being affected by miscalculated Rule 4 deductions to the sum of over £3000. Aspire Global continued to ignore me, deny my claims and stall indefinitely.
After a year of waiting for Aspire Global to correct the bets I contacted IBAS who agreed to take my case and within 2 weeks they had instructed Aspire Global to correct the bets and pay me in full for the error.
I can't thank Mr Ironside enough, he has made this Christmas very special for my family. He even went out of his own way to assist in a withdrawal that Hopa were delaying for over a year, despite it being unrelated to my original claim.
I highly recommend seeking the help of IBAS, they are working for us, the people.
