AC broke on a Saturday night. Put in a claim with HWA near midnight. Got an email Sunday early afternoon stating that we had been scheduled for service on Friday afternoon, which I attempted to reschedule earlier in the week. Got a call from a technician at 4:30 Sunday saying he could be there in 35 minutes. Took him 15 minutes to fix the problem. Great service!

it appears the customer has to learn the hard way what or how to work the system from being denied with no rational explanation.

Internet reviews of HWA are very good...

The coverage and costs are also good through the Labor Day promotion...

The real deciding factor is the excellent service by the account rep: Janill Abreu.

I paid my monthly fees. I paid them technician the $75 fee as required. But, when my water heater went out, Home Warranty of America wanted to charge me $896 out of pocket to replace it after approving its need to be replaced. A new water heater costs $600. I say its fraud.

I had to keep calling and calling because I had 9 rescheduled appointments no shows then the tech had just popped up without notice

The response was quick. The claim was processed fast.

My experience with Home Warranty of America has been extremely frustrating. I filed a claim regarding my water heater after my basement flooded. A contractor was sent to my home, but instead of providing me with a clear written diagnosis explaining what was wrong with the water heater and why it needed to be replaced, I was simply told to buy a new water heater and that insurance would reimburse me.

When I requested a copy of the contractor’s diagnosis/report, I could not get it. That is a major concern. If a customer pays for a home warranty and a contractor is sent to diagnose an appliance, the customer should be able to receive clear documentation showing what was found, what failed, and what is being recommended.

I should not have to spend thousands of dollars replacing a water heater based on someone’s verbal promise that I will be reimbursed later.

I expected Home Warranty of America to protect me and help make the claims process easier—not leave me chasing contractors for documentation and wondering whether I will actually be reimbursed.

Until this issue is resolved and I receive the written diagnosis and clear written authorization regarding replacement and reimbursement, I cannot recommend Home Warranty of America.

Scheduling was easy online but the contractor did not schedule at the requested time.

F for a change, I could understand the person on the phone, and it made it easier. In the past they had such a broken English I could not understand them.

I’ve had coverage with HWA for the last 10 years, and I would highly recommend them. They have been a trustworthy and reliable partner throughout that time. Whenever I’ve had a problem, I’ve been able to rely on them to help. They send qualified technicians, handle the issue professionally, and, most importantly, treat you fairly. After 10 years of experience with them, that kind of reliability means a lot.

I did what I was suppose to do, go online write what my issue was, got a respond right away for a target date with a specific vendor - I did not like the day and time they wanted to show up - I called the service help desk - they got me another vendor - they came in two days - fixed the problem - they got paid the 75.00 - all done!

Sadly so far my experience has been less then 1 star you get promises of warranty and they deny claims super fast my tech they sent out submitted the claim and not even 3@ seconds it was denied there is no way someone reviewed it now I’m in the appeal process I’m mad I bout two more warranties for other properties
