I've now ordered from H G Walter on five occasions, a different meat each time, and the quality has been uniformly excellent. I have also used the recipes on the website which I also can't recommend enough. Fantastic service and quality.

The low mark is for you allowing SHOPIFY to interrupt our shopping experience. We need a method to buy from you without them being involved the next time!!!!

Speedy delivery, but light on weight by 10 %. Loin looks good but have not tried it yet.

Good Product - Shocking Service
The meat was delivered in an un-insulated box left in my front garden. The driver didn't wait to see if I answered the door - the package could have been outside for hours on one of the hottest days of this year so far. When I questioned this I was told that the meat had been delivered by one of HG Walter's own drivers and that HG Walter's assumption was that deliveries by their own drivers would be immediately accepted and dealt with by the recipient. I do not believe this to be a safe or reasonable assumption.
In addition to this, the enclosed hard copy invoice was confusing and wrong. The delivery charge was itemised under a cryptic code and turned out to have been applied twice. When I questioned this I was informed that HG Walter knew of this problem with their printed invoices and that 'IT' were looking into it. I was assured that I would only be charged once for delivery - no matter what the invoice said. I will be checking my card statement.
No apologies were offered at any time.
Good product, seriously flawed service.
I won't use HG Walter again.

First and foremost, I am very sorry for the experience you’ve had. This is not the level of service we aim to provide. I was pleased to hear that you were happy with the quality of the product itself. We take a great deal of pride in the sourcing and preparation of our meat, so it’s reassuring to know that aspect met your expectations.
In terms of delivery, our parcels are intended to be delivered directly to the customer, straight off our refrigerated vans. Because of this, we do not insulate these boxes, and they are not designed to be left unattended. We have since spoken to the driver, who appears to have assumed that someone would be arriving to collect the parcel shortly after ringing the doorbell. That said, the driver should have waited to ensure you had received it. We are addressing this internally to ensure clearer procedures are followed going forward.
Most importantly, I apologise that this situation was not handled with the care and clarity it deserved when you first raised it. You should have received a clear explanation and an apology immediately.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and helps us improve both our service and communication.
Meat quality was excellent
Meat quality was excellent. Communication was excellent. Delivery was excellent. However the delivery was incomplete which left bus chasing a refund which was made.
Clearly some internal procedures need to be looked at.

It arrived at date / time expected.
It was boxed with lining and ice packs.
Ice packs were still frozen.
The meat was beautifully packaged.
Each joint individually packed and sealed.
The meat was delicious and very tender.

Outstanding Beef Wellington
Ordered two beef wellingtons with the red wine jus for a dinner party. The cooking instructions were spot on. The beef was cooked to perfection. From experience, the quality of HG Walter’s meat is always exceptional. On this occasion, the beef wellington with the accompanying jus was so delicious, it exceeded our expectations. Definitely will order the beef wellington again.

Inadequate packaging. Meat warm on delivery
My order arrived on time but was packed in a plain cardboard box with absolutely no insulation to keep the meat cool. It was warm and the vacuum seal on one of the packages was compromised. The condition of the meat (split pig's head) in that package was not good- the skin was slimy and the colour of the meat was off. I threw it away but the other items looked ok so I kept them. However, the smoked iberico bacon Is delicious. Not sure if I'll order meat from this company again.

With our local deliveries, all orders come straight out of our refrigerated vans and directly into the hands of our customers. They are never left on a doorstep or unattended, which is why we do not include ice packs with these deliveries.
That said, the condition you’ve described is absolutely not up to our standards and we sincerely apologise for this experience. Please do get in touch with me at georgia.cotton@hgwalter.com so I can investigate this properly and arrange a refund for the affected item.
