After having my gear up on the site for two weeks I received my first booking for my specialty hardware (high speed camera). The contact with the client went smoothly through the Gearbooker platform and I felt secure in the transaction, knowing that the gear was not only well insured but the payment was already being held by their service.

One downside I want to mention to temper the expectations (not of the platform but from the users on it) is that most people set their rates quite low, and there is a commission on those rates so the actual earnings are even lower. Especially for gear that is fairly accessible so there are many providers you're not going to be making a large amount or a good return on your investment. This invites a kind of "race to the bottom" of setting your price lower than the competition. You're only going to get a somewhat good return when a user rents multiple items from you, so it is only worth putting up your gear if you can 1. miss it whenever it is rented out and 2. didn't buy it simply to rent it out, because the ROI is too long to be worth it. But if you have some gear where this applies, it could be a nice way to get a little extra income from it every now and then!

Vermietung hat gut funktioniert. Kritische sehe ich die Gearbooker Provision von 19% und das der automatisierte Mietvertrag falsche Zahlen hatte. Auch hab ich eine Email auf niederländisch von der Versicherung bekommen. Wenig intuitiv ist die Buchung von mehrere Mietgeräten im Bundle.

Tried to verify my account times they asked for many papers no phone to call no direct email to call support after all they verified it next step I cannot book gear they asked to do process again I passed then gives error message sent many times via chat no one's there

The only thing I disagree with is having a picture of your ID taken by everyone you rent something from. From a safety, security, privacy standpoint there's a huge risk of abuse and identity theft.
