Ordered Berkeley PowerBait through Amazon but The Angling Centre delivered to the wrong address, When I asked where the order was, the person sent me a photo of the delivered item to an address they guessed was along the road from me, I was asked if I could pop along and try and collect, This person came across as a bit arrogant regarding a comment he made which probably annoyed me more than not receiving the order, I eventually received a refund from Amazon and all this carry on for an item less than £8.
I am a regular visitor to the Possilpark Branch but will stay away from now on.
Well done to the person that dealt with my order.

Couldn't ask for more. Good selection of gear. Well priced and sturdy packaging. All arrived as requested and no hassle. Just a good shop.

First time shopping with them; and certainly the last. Tried spending a grand on rods and reels over two orders; one took its time to arrive, but it eventually did (caveat proctor, though: they use UPS!). With the other one, nothing happened for two weeks. Called them. 'We are just waiting for your rod, it takes a couple of weeks'. The rod was supposed to be in stock! Anyway. A few more days, still nothing. Called them again. Turns out, it actually wasn't in stock, and they have been 'trying to see if they could get one' - for two weeks, while not bothering to let me know. And I know for a fact they wouldn't be able to get one - my usual country shop couldn't, and they actually know what they are doing. Glasgow's basically just sat on my money for a fortnight knowing jolly well that they didn't have what they had purportedly sold me.
The chap on the phone was polite to begin with, but when I told him I was unhappy, he said 'Listen, I'm not going to get into an argument, I'll just cancel the order and refund you'. Good riddance. Ordered the same rod on Amazon for a smidge more, delivery in two days. Won't be shopping with these people again.
The thing is, their catalogue looks massive, but when you do click on products, the majority of them are not in stock and 'will ship in X days' (or even weeks). And even when it IS in stock - well, let my experience speak for how much it means. In general, they are the kind of a shop that mostly sell maggots by the quart to be drowned in a canal somewhere; if you want premium hardware and customer service to match, stick to decent shops like Farlows and Uttings - with those you can at least be sure that they won't see messing an order up as 'not a problem at all' (sic!).

Ordered something online and paid £12.50 for express.delivery. They refuse yo leave items in a safe place. Eventually the items were returned to the Glasgow Angling Centre and they refuse to reimburse the £12.50 express delivery fee. Will never use them again HOPELESS

Website doesn't connect, have to go to another vendor, it won't load up.

Recently ordered a dozen alder flies for fly fishing
The delivery was extremely prompt the price was very competitive and the quality of the flies is excellent
The flies came well packaged just got to try them out now
I would highly recommend them and will definitely be using them again

Called Glasgow Angling Centre to order a Sea Fishing Rod.
As it was a non stock item I asked advice about an alternative rod.
The chap I spoke with advised he didn’t know about sea fishing, but would try to help.
I explained that would not be easy as selecting a rod is fairly involved but could do with speaking to a specialist.
He advised no one was available.
I said ok let’s try.
Gave him a description of the type of fishing I was intending to do, beach casting and pier fishing told him the rod I had selected, weight, length, etc
He then asked me what type of fishing would I be doing?
I explained I had just described that to him.
He said don’t be rude and hung up on me!
I have spent hundreds of pounds with GAC over the years but now I have done with them.
Customer care zero and he was the one being rude.
I have since contacted Gerry’s Fishing in Morecambe who were very helpful and excellent advice was offered. Ordered the rod from them ex stock too!

I bought a fishing rod (Shakespear Ugly Stik) from this company and it was a well known, well reputed brand. One of the favoured features that apparently makes this better than others is that it has a clear fiberglass tip which helps with bite detection.
When I opened the box, sure enough the clear tip was listed on the attached label but upon checking, there was no clear tip. I called the Centre and was told that if I didn't like it, I could return it (which was my only option). I had already stayed home for the delivery which would not be left without a signature, and I didn't want to take another day off work so that it could be collected so I reluctantly agreed to keep it.
No apology was given, just a claim that "Glasgow Angling Centre is the biggest and the best and didn't need to sell sub-standard or fake goods".
My point is that items bought at full price should not be advertised with a specialised feature which claims to be unique and exclusive to that brand when it doesn't actually exist.
I won't be buying from this place again.

I ordered the incorrect rod, called and spoke Gareth who was very helpful. New rod arrived less than a week after I returned the first delivery. Polite, professional and efficient

I ordered a large Pike fishing net and at very short notice, Glasgow Angling managed to get the sent to me with a day to spare. It was well packaged and the product was everything I needed. I bought a Westin W3 CR Landing Net XL.
Overall, I give Glasgow Angling top marks for going the extra mile to get the item sent super fast.

I received a broken item. A member of staff emailed me to say I could have an exchange or refund but then was ignored terrible to wake up on Christmas day excited to give your partner a gift and it's broken. Was absolutely mortified. No further luck on a refund or replacement. First time ordering from them and can't believe I've just been ignored after the initial email. Shocking.

I haven’t had any dealing with The Glasgow Angling Centre before. I rang and ordered a Penn Multiplier.
Gareth was very helpful and informative. Easy to deal with, and it was delivered two days later ! Brilliant !!

I've bought a few things of them in the past and the company itself is all good. However please stop using UPS for delivery they are the worst delivery service in the country. Everything sent by them is late if it gets here at all. I won't buy anything more online, I will continue to visit the stores when I'm down south. I feel UPS is costing you custom.

Wanted a 4wt intermediate fly line. This shop was one of the only ones that sold them - good price and rapid delivery

I went to the angling centre with a damaged fly reel not knowing if I would get a refund or it replaced but Jim at the click and collect was very helpful from the get go he replaced my fly reel and even tied on my fly line back onto the new fly reel he was very helpful he even helped me understand why it could have broke and tips on keeping my fly rod and line in good condition had a great experience Jim is a top man

Ordered this rod on the 18/06/2025 and was delivered on the 19/06/2025 very Happy with the service i received. The rod was very well packed and undamaged and delivered by UPS. I would highly recommend glasgow angling centre for the service and advice which they offered me.
