Paid a little bit extra as this fire looked worth it & it certainly is. We bought an oak surround with black hearth & black electric Victorian style fire with app control. It’s absolutely gorgeous & I would recommend Fires 2 u as they were cheaper for the same fire elsewhere. Delivered within a few days & very well packaged.

purchase of gas fire from Fires2U

Very wary about buying gas fire on line but bought Gallery Bauhaus HE glass fronted for good price from Fires2U.comm at Liverpool. Dealt with mainly Emma and Chris who gave excellent service and advice. Fire installed by Tony of Cottam Gas Services, Preston who did an excellent job. Early days but so far delighted with whole procedure and should have done it sooner.

Purchased a Be Modern electric fire Fireplace for…

Purchased a Be Modern electric fire fireplace, for our newly decorated front room, the guys who delivered it were very professional and unpackaged the fire before leaving, taking the rubbish with them.

The fire came with instructions and fitted perfectly as we had measured the gap in the skirting boards before it arrived so it fitted perfectly against the wall
Would highly recommend them

Excellent service but always check package fully and at once on delivery.

Bought a Flavel Windsor HE in Aug 2018. Left in packaging after cursory inspection indicated good condition with all parts present. Took ages to find GasSafe reg. fire fitter in South Hants willing to fit.
On fitting an annoying dent in the detachable chrome surround was noted —-in the inlet for auto ignition lever.

Fires2U said that faults should have been notified within 7 days of delivery. But, in the light of my explanation for delay, they would take up the matter with Flavel if I mailed photos. After further photos were sent at the request of Flavel, a brand new decorative surround was sent FOC by Flavel in late March.

The fire is beautiful and customer service has commendably gone way over strict legal liability .

Avoid

I bought a DRU gas fire from Fires2u on 29/01/18 which came with a 2 years manufacturers guarantee. Due to building work the fire was not fitted until November 2018. It was used about 20 times over the Christmas period and worked perfectly, and ignited on demand. It then developed an intermittent fault and would not start.
I contacted Fires2u and they said that they would contact DRU fires and get them to arrange a call out.
I heard nothing for a week and so contacted Fires2u again who said that they would forward my details to DRU and suggested that I get my installer to check the installation and work through the 'fault finder' to work out what the problem was. They also said that a DRU engineer would contact me and visit, if required, to rectify the fault.
I then contacted DRU fires who informed me that the correct procedure is for Fires2u to carry out the repair in the first instance and for DRU to send an engineer if Fires2u could not repair the fire.
I again contacted Fires2u who again said that the installer should attempt to rectify the fault and if he could not, then a DRU engineer would visit.
It was clear that I was being given the run around and that Fires2u were not going to resolve the problem. I contacted Trading standards who said, without hesitation, that the responsibility for a defective item lies with the seller. When I pointed this out to Fires2u they said that it was the responsibility of my installer and DRU and offered no further help.
I discussed the matter with DRU, who were very helpful, and sent me some spare parts that they thought would be needed. I subsequently
had these parts fitted and the fire now works correctly.
As the fault was a defective part and not an installation problem, I have had to pay the installer for his labour to repair the fault.
This whole procedure has left a nasty taste in my mouth and it is clear that Fires2u do not have the procedures in place to deal with problems that have arisen after delivery, even though they have a legal responsibility, under the sale of goods act, to do so.
Having read some of the other reviews there appears to be a pattern emerging !
If you use this firm then I just hope you don't have to rely on their after sales service.

Having reviewed all our correspondence by email with Mr Payne and DRU I am mystified by his comments. He contacted ourselves on the 16/01/2019 at 13.49 pm, we responded to his email the same afternoon at 14.11 pm. We forwarded his issue to DRU service department the same afternoon at 14.50pm explaining the issue he was having and requesting they contact him as soon as possible.
In our response to Mr Payne we explained that DRU would request his installer to call to site to check the installation, since should the fault be installation related they would charge a call out fee, this is something most manufacturers request especially when a fire has been installed for less than 8 weeks.

Mr Payne subsequently contacted ourselves on the 21/01/2019 advising he had not had a reply from DRU, we responded immediately and contacted DRU the same day to advise the customers situation and to contact the customer. Mr Payne then spoke to DRU directly and was advised that he should get his installer to visit his home and check the installation and they would speak to him on site to go through the issue and if it could not be resolved they would arrange a repair. This is what we had advised in our original correspondence on the 16/01/2019 when the issue was first reported to us and at no time did Mr Payne advise us he had not done this. We are based in Merseyside and carry out installations in this area and would follow this procedure on any installation our Gas Safe fitter had carried out. In Mr Payne case he is based in the Midlands area and we would expect his installer to return to site, to advise on the issue. It is standard procedure within the industry for an installer to return to site when a fault arises within the first 6 months of installation and this matter would have been resolved quickly. He has praised DRU for their reaction yet it is their procedure which we have followed.

We regret Mr Payne is not satisfied with our reaction to his issues. But as stated earlier we follow the criteria set out by the manufacturers
as they offer the guarantees.

Brilliant from start to finish

Brilliant from start to finish. Very competitive price for the Flavel fire I have just purchased. Email correspondence to Fires2U was replied to efficiently and promptly. The fire was delivered within days by DPD couriers who were also excellent. No hesitation whatsoever in using this Company again. Highly recommended.

I originally ordered the same fire from…

I originally ordered the same fire from another company but they kept putting off delivery (weeks and weeks went by) with no explanation. I eventually cancelled the order and ordered the same fire from Fires2U. I must say that Emma has been so helpful, she constantly kept me updated about why there was a delay (problem with the manufacturer) and regularly chased them on my behalf right up until the fire was delivered. So, although I didn't get the fire quicker than I would have, at least I knew why and that it was being chased!! I'd definitely recommend this company.

Gas Fire from Fires2u

Just purchased my Gas Fire from Fires2u. Ordering online was easy and quick. Order acknowledged very quickly with online copy of purchase order with order number and contact phone number. Three working days later delivery date agreed. Two working days later Gas Fire was in my home. Minor problem with Gas Fire Coals. Contacted Fires2u and was dealt with politely and efficiently. New coals arrived soon after. All is good.

Only interested in pushing the responsibility around

I speak as I find and sadly I find that this company is very quick to push the responsibility of issues surrounding 'poor quality goods' onto either the manufacturer or my elderly parents! In fact anywhere except with them. Since, Fires2u.com took our money, in accordance with the Consumers Act 2015 our contract lies with them. The Act specifically states an item should be of 'satisfactory quality' but it wasn't. They pushed the blame around to everyone else. The manufacturer couldn't have been more helpful but unfortunately couldn't resolve the issues to a satisfactory conclusion, although they did try very hard. However; I cannot say the same about this company. Do not buy from this company if you want help with any issues following your purchase. Not sure how you can push the blame onto 78-80 year old's accusing them of not setting up the fire correctly - REALLY! It was installed by a registered professional and in accordance with the instructions provided. Own up to your responsibilities as a trader and provide your customers with a better customer service.

The fire was purchased from ourselves on 21st June 2018 and delivered to our customer on 26th June 2018. We received no further correspondence or contact from the customer until the 19th September 2018, It was at this time we were advised that the customer had been in contact with the manufacturer directly and had received replacement parts including a new trim and coal bed although in the manufacturers opinion the problem arose due to the fires fuel bed being incorrectly fitted by her gas fitter. At no time was the customer accused of fitting the coals incorrectly as this should have been done by the gas safe fitter, the customers own pictures sent to the manufacturer showed the fuel bed to be incorrectly fitted.
When we were made aware of the issue by the customers daughter on the 19th September 2018 we contacted the manufacturer who advised ourselves that they had sent 2 new fascias and a new fuel bed but the customers daughter was now requesting compensation, this was also requested by the customers daughter in correspondence to ourselves.
After reviewing the correspondence and actions of the manufacturer which we feel were very generous in the circumstances. We contacted the customers daughter and advised we could not offer any compensation as we felt both ourselves and the manufacturers had acted in good faith. We are not aware if the customer has taken this matter up with her installer.
Subsequently this review has appeared.

What a great company to deal with, ordered crystal remote control gas fire, arrived in short time, installer found few scratches on chrome, contacted company they were excellent and our new pieces arrived in 3 days, would recommend this company to anyone 1st

if only all companies were this good.

we recently bought a flavell Windsor gas fire from this company and the service was excellent. the delivery arrived on time as promised and the price was very competitive. when my fitter was installing the fire we found that the glass front was broken on the lower right hand corner, a fault that could not be seen until installation. an email later and the problem was sorted, a replacement was promised in three working days and arrived on time.
all in all great professional service

Shocking when things don't go to plan.

My advice would be not to order a fire surround with this company unless you are prepared to unload the fire place with the delivery driver waiting, to inspect every piece before you sign anything.
If you aren't able to lift this stone work (the driver won't) or your fitter isn't there to receive it, then order from a different company with more realistic t's and c's.
Their service when something isn't as it should be will be brief and dismissive, and they will hide behind the terms and conditions which serve to help them and not you.
Use them at your risk.

The above person who has written this review has never placed an order with ourselves or emailed ourselves with regard to any issue with any of our products. Our understanding is our customer placed this order for a Limestone Fireplace Suite and the order was placed on the 08/11/2016 and was delivered by carrier on the 10/11/16 and signed for by the customer as received in good condition. It is clearly stated on the delivery note when the pallet is delivered that the customer has 3 days to inspect the goods and report any issues to ourselves within 7 days, so that the matter can be resolved ASAP.

The goods have been at the customers address for over 3 weeks and on Saturday 03/12/16 at 12-23pm when our offices and the manufacturer’s offices were closed, we received an email from our customer stating he had found a fault with the Limestone suite when there installer was fitting the goods.

Having now spoken to the manufacturer who delivered these goods directly to our customer, they confirmed all goods are checked prior to dispatch, and that the goods were signed for as received in good condition. Unfortunately we cannot accept liability for damage that is not reported to us within a reasonable time scale.

Fantastic company

I ordered Balanced Flue Flavel fire. It arrived 2 days later. Exact time they said it would.
On inspection, the fret was broken. I called and a new 1 arrived 2 days later.
Totally trustworthy, professional company.

Excellent service

Ordered a gas fire which arrived with a damaged fuel bed and facia. fires2u arranged for a replacement from Flavel which arrived within 24 hours, unfortunately this arrived damaged aswell, again they arranged for a replacement no questions asked.

Excellent communication and very quick to reply to any queries.

Will be using them again in the future without hesitation!

Dru Global Beau gas stove

Ordered fire from fires2u after reading their reviews. I would like to say that I agree they are a great company to deal with. There customer service is brilliant as they inform you by email of each step of the process. Very happy customer

I purchased a Robinson Willey Firecharm gas fire on Sunday 24th April. I received email confirmation the next day advising me that it was in stock and was being despatched. On the Tuesday I received another email to say it could be delivered on that Thursday, if not convenient they were happy to re-schedule. The fire in question was fitted for me last Sunday and looks beautiful. Brilliant customer service from start to finish - will definitely be recommending this company to everyone I know. Thank you

Great price and excellent service. Recommended!

Shopped around for a balanced flue gas fire and surround. Got very quick replies to my questions from Fires2U, some others didn't even bother to reply! Kept me well informed as to progress of my order and arranged a delivery that was convenient for me. Gas fire was with me within a week, and surround, direct from manufacturer within 2 weeks.
Slight defect noted on Flavel gas fire surround when gas fitter was installing fire on the Monday, so emailed Fires2U and got immediate response. Replacement surround was ordered from Flavel and with me by the Friday. Great, hassle free service.
