We booked a private boat trip on Harmony to Orange Bay through Falcon Adventure, and to be fair, much of the day itself was very good. The crew were fantastic, the captain was excellent, the boat felt safe, and the snorkelling was great.

The reason for this review is trust.

One of the reasons we booked through Falcon Adventure was because they presented themselves as a more professional, more trustworthy company. Before the trip started, I specifically asked whether there would be any extra charges or anything else to pay, and I was told no.

Throughout the day, we were then encouraged to have photos taken constantly - individual shots, couple shots, family shots and underwater photos. Only at the very end were we presented with a £250 bill for the photos.

That was the issue. Not that photos cost extra, but that a charge of that size was not made clear upfront, despite me asking directly. On a boat trip costing around £530, being quoted £250 for photos alone - nearly half the price of the trip itself - felt completely unreasonable and badly damaged the trust.

If the price had been made clear at the start, we could have made an informed decision. Instead, it was only revealed at the end, after the photos had already been taken throughout the day.

The boat trip itself was good, but Falcon Adventure did not behave like a company I would describe as trustworthy. Because of that, I would not book with them again.

I've used Falcon for 3 holidays now and would have always recommended them but today something went very wrong and Mr Said did nothing to put it right and also told me lies and passed the buck. At first, he was apologetic but then when I asked for a refund because we had a wasted day, he came up with all sorts of excuses. The boat trip was supposed to be an easy snorkel, followed by another one further out to sea, followed by White Island. It all happened in reverse. We had to swim about 100m to White Island in very choppy sea. We gave up and returned to the boat because it was so windy and cold and despite our children being strong swimmers they were finding it very difficult. We were never told we would have to swim to get to the island. I was also told that I could do a scuba dive for the 2nd snorkelling stop for $30 and I asked about equipment and was promised all would be available on board as they carry everything in all sizes. The first snorkelling stop was in very choppy water and I was told that's where I would be scuba diving. This was not what I was sold because I was supposed to snorkel with the children during the first stop to help them on their first time and then dive at the second site, but because they had done the trip in reverse this wasn't possible. They then tried to charge me 3000 EGP, nearly £50 instead of $30. I had to message and phone Falcon Adventure to get this sorted. But then I was told they only had shorty wet suits and no boots. I could have got by without boots, but in February in Egypt long wet suits are needed as it's too cold for a shorty at 25m depth. I phoned Mr Said again who spoke to the dive master and told him to find equipment from another boat but this didn't happen. By this time, we had missed the opportunity to snorkel so we couldn't do that and to make it worse the group all saw a turtle. The other diver saw 2 sharks and lots of other marine life which really disappointed me. So by 2.30pm we had left our hotel at 7.30 am just to go on a minibus and a boat to nowhere. The final snorkel stop was close to the port and so not much marine life to see. Then at the end our bus was over 30 mins late to pick us up and we returned to the hotel 45 mins after expected. Mr Said tried to claim that nobody wears long suits in Egypt which is a lie because I've never dived with anyone wearing a shorty since 2011 in Egypt in winter and the dive master knew how cold it was as he was wearing a dry suit. We were also misled about the food and we're promised plain chicken and plain kofta for the children but both came cooked in spices and the chicken also in a sauce. So one child had just pasta and chips and the other just a handful of chips because they had run out of chips. Mr Said then passed the buck to Max who made the booking for me but he's not able to authorise a refund. I get that things sometimes go wrong but when it does, the organiser needs to take responsibility. We wasted a whole day of our holiday on a boat to nowhere so expected a full refund. I will now have to go to our credit card company.

Terrible Experience – Avoid Falcon Adventures Sharm El Sheikh
We were picked up in an old minivan with no proper air conditioning. After baking in the van for about 1.5 hours, we arrived in Dahab. They made one stop at their own store in the desert for a toilet break, where everything was sold at inflated tourist prices.
We were promised a jeep safari to the Coloured Canyon (Abo Galum), but instead, we did the whole trip in the same overheated minivan. There was no jeep safari at all.
They took us to a mountain for a "panoramic picture," which required climbing unsafe, homemade wooden ladders — extremely risky and definitely not suitable for everyone.
To make matters worse, we found out that the Coloured Canyon has been closed since 2013. The person who sold us the tour must have known this, but it was never mentioned.
Before visiting the Blue Hole, we were forced to stop at a snorkeling equipment rental shop. Despite the ad saying gear was available to rent (not mandatory), they pressured everyone to pay €10 for flippers, goggles, and a life vest. I told the guide I had my own gear and wasn’t paying extra. Only after complaining did they give us a vest for free. I paid $45 per person for this tour, while others from Belgium with a different company paid only $25 for a better experience.
The guide then began complaining about having to pay €10 per person to the local organization at the Blue Hole, and even said he could have taken us to a “fake” Blue Hole and we wouldn’t have noticed!
The camel ride was okay — it lasted about 5 to 10 minutes.
Snorkeling at the Blue Hole was the highlight — beautiful coral and fish, and we had about an hour to explore.
However, the included lunch was awful: burnt chicken and some rice. It was barely edible. I ended up feeding the chicken to a hungry dog, who even hesitated before eating it.
After snorkeling, we were supposed to go shopping in central Dahab. Instead, they brought us to a store (clearly for commission) and made us sit through a 20-minute sales pitch about oils and perfumes — all very overpriced. That was the extent of our “shopping experience.”
After I voiced my frustration and said I was going to write a review, they offered to refund €10 if I went to their office in Sharm — as if I’d waste more time with them!
In summary:
If you want to pay €45 (+ €10 for gear) just to swim at the Blue Hole, go ahead. But this is the last time I book anything with Falcon Adventures Sharm El Sheikh.
This was a complete scam. Avoid at all costs!
