No one answers the call. Automated system repeats “ ok let’s get started. Tell me how I can help you today” non stop.
All 3 credit agencies needs to be shut down and have done other system.

Curious about my credit score, I signed up with Equifax when they offered a one-month promotion and paid 5.59 Canadian dollars on July 08th, 2023. I found several mistakes on my profile, including my birth year. So, it has little value to me. Before the month ended, on August 3rd, I called them to cancel. The lady asked me for my credit card number. I have three credit cards but I could not remember which card I used. So, I pulled out the first card to try. Then I was told it was wrong, and I didn't have another chance to try another card. I had to mail them my information or cancel from their website online.
When I remembered to do it, they charged me for another month. I'm a senior with decreasing memories. By the time I saw their second charge and remembered to contact them, it was one week before the next payment, which was on September 7th, according to them. However, no feature on their website allows cancellation. I had been searching for a few days. Finally, I had to use an email link on their website to send them an email cancellation notice, but I got a reply that they could not find my membership ID. I asked my brilliant and detailed daughter to help me find the unsubscribe button on their webpage. She could not find one either. Finally, I called them on September 4th. The recording said it was a public holiday. So I called in the morning on September 7th. Another lady answered. First, she offered to lower the monthly fee to about 50%. When I said no, she threatened me with all sorts of "loss" that I would suffer if I quit. When I insisted on canceling, she said I was charged for another month today, September 7th, and my subscription could not be withdrawn until October. (I could not get a confirmation for my cancellation until October, either.) After I finally confirmed my cancellation, I asked for the contact of their customer service. She said she was. I asked to speak to a manager, and she put me on hold to listen to music forever! Since I'm writing this review anyway, I didn't mind waiting for the manager to show up.
More than an hour later, her manager, Karlo (employee ID: 15385), picked up the phone. He listened patiently to my story, refunded the two-month charges (August and September), and told me I could still use the service until October if needed. And he promised to correct all the mistakes on my Equifax file.
Equifax interaction is so bad
Wow. Equifax is not only rubbish from a data perspective, but customer service too. We own two properties, both without mortgages and neither appears on the credit report. Pay off loan eraly and no improvement in credit score. Slow updates will no doubt be fixed by paid subscription! Can anyone else send a meesage via an online help account?

Same with transunion, they will take away points for you doing the right thing and paying off your debt on time. I suspect it's because they can pretend paid memberships will fix it but I won't experiment to find out. We need to flood the cfpb/ftc with complaints to get this to stop. We are suppose to earn points for paying off our debt on time not lose points.

Successfully logged in, but it just says call their customer support. Except when I call customer support, it says it won't accept my call, even after I correctly answered all their lengthy security questions. So what am I supposed to do? There doesn't seem to be any other way to contact them. And this company is in entrusted to be in charge of our credit history? A great example of how dysfunctional America has become.
Equifax has 1 job
Equifax has 1 job, and that is to create trustworthiness between consumers and lenders, and yet they utterly fail at that. Even with Equifax access, they'll show you a credit score, but make it impossible to see what factors are impacting it. You want to see if you missed a payment somewhere accidentally? Too bad. You want to be responsible? figure it out on your own. You want customer support? Phone only, get ready to sit on hold.

I have spent 2 plus years getting my credit score up , They say to use your cards and pay on time, I usually pay ahead of time and pay them offost of the time, I have been at the 690to 697 for a few months and I complained about Equifax dropping my score 50 points for paying off a loan. They put it back, now they have dropped it 17 points and few days later 16 points lower again. My cards limit is 15,000.00 dollars I am using only 17percent of my usage, they said my score is going down because my usage went up on 2 cards, WOW almost 500.00 total, I am not a Genius, but dealing with this company is not good, it's always a uphill battle of double standard, I advocate for Autism , mental health and Elderly Abuse, I have now been convinced to start with the same congress and senators about holding Equifax accountable for the damage they can cause family. Equifax are liars. My details were stolen and a fraudster attempted to buy something from Vodafone whereby a hard credit search was applied by Equifax to my credit report. Vodafone sent me a letter confirming this but Equifax refused to remove the search from my credit report?!?!? You can't speak with them on the phone, they repeatedly lock you out of your account, they don't reply to your emails unless you count a reply which does not answer your query or be in any way relevant or helpful towards fixing their shameful mistake. In fact Equifax are fraudsters for doing this! I thought Virgin Media were the worst how wrong was I? Whilst we are on it - Clearscore are charlatans "Oh we'll help you build your credit score", when in fact you are bombarded with texts and emails to take out credit cards and loans to put you into debt - is it just me?
Problems freezing credit report
I've spend hours trying to freeze my Mom's credit report at Equifax. The other two agencies only took minutes. First they couldn't verify her identity and had to snail mail a verification code. Once the code arrived the account setup completed without error. Now when attempting to login I continue to get a "We are temporarily unable to complete this request". All of this just to protect her from a data breach at her Doctor's office.

What an abysmal customer service experience.
I tried to cancel my premium subscription today - which, with any other company in 2023, you can do with a click of a button.
Instead, I was on hold for ages; the call-back option did not work; the verification process was beyond tedious. Even after I identified myself, later in the call, I had to find the credit card I used for the purchase - for security purposes. What a massive waste of my time.
I just wanted to cancel a simple subscription, and it was made way too complex.
They make it time-wasting hard work to cancel a subscription.
Then, when I said it was too expensive, I was told I could still have the same service at 50% off. What? Really? Why do you charge 20 bucks, then? I refused.
These people make it very hard to quit them and connect with them. It feels intentional.

I have read the reviews in Trustpilot from different customer and I was absolutely mouth dropped by the way that Equifax responds to the bad negative reviews. They write that the customers haven't given them enough information about the complaint and when I read the customer reviews, I can see that there is a lot of information there. iS THIS COMPANY REALLY WANTS TO IMPROVE OR NOT? BECAUSE DEFINITELY IF THEY DON'T WANT TO IMPROVE THEN THE BEST THING TO DO INTO THE SOCIETY IS TO GO HOME AND NEVER COME BACK. ABSOLUTELY BOGGER, USELESS AND INCOMPETENT AGENCY. Never use Equifax! It’s a awful company
After cancelling my subscription, they continued to charged me. When I was finally able to speak with customer service regarding the over-charge, the representatives were extremely rude to me!
I spoke to three different people in total.
The first person told me that they cancelled the subscription in February.
I was fine with the outcome and didn’t think much of it.
The second person told me he had cancelled it again, and I “may receive a refund in 14 business if it was approved, and I should just be thankful he helped me”. He then hung up on me with no explanation for why he was treating me like that, or why I was over charged in the first place.
When I called back, the last representative told me that my subscription hadn’t been touched either time I previously called.
They ended up only refunding me half of what was taken out of my account.
This company should be ashamed of themselves for attempting to scam customers.
