Maple Zheng with China Odyssey tours is amazing to work with. My family and I have traveled all over the world and when you don't feel comfortable going somewhere new alone, because of the language or wanting to learn the history and culture, then it is a good idea to work with China Odyssey. Your trip is still private and you can customize it to see and do everything you wish. Maple can select the finest hotels and itineraries to meet your needs. And the drivers and guides are very professional and courteous. I would definitely use them for any of the countries they offer services for.

Reinself Wei, our Odyssey contact, was always quick to respond and ready to help whenever needed. Fabulous private China tour!

An idyllic holiday in China
My wife and I had an exciting yet peaceful 23 days holiday in China. Our holiday was arranged by Wendy Wan who obviously listened carefully to all our desires and needs from this holiday. She included our every wish that included various city highlights, mountain and country scenery as well as sharing a little bit of the Chinese culture both modern day and historic. Wendy planned every part of our tour to included our need to avoid much walking and climbing because of my wife's health. At the end we felt that we had totally shared a glimpse of the total China. Our tour guides were exceptionally good with all having been notified of my wife's health and the restrictions required and all took this into consideration in treating and helping her and sometimes re-planning parts of our tour days to minimize long walks etc. She referred to Tom in Beijing as her another son as he was so caring towards her. He even found and organized laundry services for us and even aided her unto the Great Wall. We had Ben in Chengdu and he too looked after my wife. He was so knowledgeable of the surrounding countryside and took us to some amazing places including the Panda Centre. We had a lovely time with Jessie in Guangzhou; we strolled around riverside parks, markets and some quaint villages. She even found us a church for our Sunday service and came in with us, enquiring about various happenings. She was wonderful; my wife said that she was her new daughter. We tour the prettiest scenery I have ever seen with Yana Ye in Guillin, Yangshuo and the Li River. Yana Ye was wonderful; again caring for my wife like a daughter; helping her on and off boats, gondolas and around some of the most beautiful countryside and river cruises. The tour was well planned, included all our needs and wishes and together with Wendy and some great guides we had a wonderful tour of beautiful China

4th trip with China Odyssey, this time from Zhangjiajie to Guiyang, from beautiful Wulingyuan area to wonderful villages holding minorities.
As usual perfect organization of vacation, from transfers to drivers and finally local guides.
Hotels all clean and close to attractions.

She quickly responded to my requests and planned according to my needs.

The quality of service is second to none. An excellent tour company and I would without hesitation recommend this company to anyone traveling to China. Our accommodation was top notch, centrally located, comfortable and the service was excellent. Our guides were wonderful, helpful, full of knowledge about each area we visited. We had a great trip to China this year
We had a great trip to China this year, organised by Liz Ling at Odyssey. The itinerary was well planned and the guides very good - both knowledgeable and friendly. Our drivers all did a good job too.
We travelled to eight cities on a private tour with us two plus our two friends. The weather in the southern part of the trip wasn't the best, rained a lot which was a shame especially in Guilin and on the Li River, however our last two cities, Xian and Beijing more than made up with exceptional sunny weather.
This was our second private tour with Odyssey, both arranged by Liz Ling (last year we went to Vietnam and Cambodia), and both times we have been most impressed with all the arrangements and believe they have been very good value for money too.
We have no hesitation in recommending Odyssey and in fact are planning another trip with Liz for next year, this time to Sri Lanka.

Took a 13days China tour with odyssey …
Took a 13days China tour with odyssey with my son in middle of Oct2017.Karen Yang our travel consultant book our return flight Canada and arrange the itinenary. All the travel guides and drivers in China was all right and cooperative when ask and I like to thank Karen for her effort to make our trip a wonderful memory. I would recommend her to any one visiting China. The only disappointment was in Chengdu our guide was late to pick us up from the airport the rest of the trip was OK.

Excellent choice
There were so many tour agencies to chose from. I decided to go with China Odyssey tours because of the great reviews I read on Trip advisor. And I had a wonderful time. The entire trip was well organized and the guides very knowledgeable of the history of the cities. Our organizer, Karen, was readily available by email or phone. We were going back and forth quite a lot to finalize tiny details of the trip & Karen was very adjusting with the changes. We made beautiful lifelong memories on this trip to China.

The guides in Beijing and Hong Kong …
The guides in Beijing and Hong Kong were rigid and narrow. In Beijing we did the asking. The guide talked to the driver. In Hong Kong her rigidity was rude and offensive. Hotels great. The person in charge of our trip was very accommodating. I had left something in the safe in beijing and she helped solve the problem. I was insistent we have a guide in shanghai that was knowlegable in a subject. They tried their best to make it work. Our Harbin guide and our Guilin guides were great. There were issues with seating on flights that could have been handled better as my husband was on crutches.

17-day tour of Chinese mountains
Odyssey Tours customized a 17-day tour of China for two of us that emphasized visits to several mountains. Prior to the trip, we maintained a dialog via email with Odyssey's tour director, Mr. Reinself Wei, to design an itinerary specific to our interests. The trip was conducted very smoothly with guides meeting us at each destination and then delivering us to a train or plane for travel to the next destination. We were particularly impressed with travel by bullet train. All accommodations were top notch, and the mountains are spectacular.
