Air conditioning was faulty when sold to me and promised repair was never carried out
I purchased a car from Car Firm Stamford on 24 June 2026. The air conditioning was not working when I bought the car, and I was told by the company that once it had been re-gassed, the air conditioning would be sorted.
After the purchase, I contacted them about the problem. I was initially told to try claiming for the repair through the warranty that I had purchased with the car. However, I was also asked to suggest to the warranty company that the air-conditioning fault had occurred after I purchased the vehicle. This was not true — the air conditioning was already faulty when I bought the car.
I did not feel comfortable making a claim based on something that wasn't true.
I subsequently sent emails to Car Firm regarding the problem, but my emails were ignored. Eventually, after trying to get the matter resolved, I was called a liar and the company refused to do anything about the air conditioning.
The issue was known about at the time of sale and I was specifically told it would be sorted. I am extremely disappointed with the way this has been handled, particularly the lack of response to my emails and the way I was treated when I continued to ask for the problem to be resolved.
I have kept the relevant emails and other documentation relating to the purchase and the air-conditioning problem.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Car Firm Stamford and would advise anyone buying a vehicle from them to make sure every promise regarding faults or repairs is put in writing before completing the purchase.

I have had to seek medical help, due to mental health , into thousands of pounds in finanicail difficulty, going to garages, getting inspection reports. Hiring, loss of business,ect ect.and no further on. With no vehicle back. No responce from calls, or emails .

This is Carfirm on the A1. This change of name is fooling no one! You’re still a load of crooks that forged my signature!! Sold me a dangerous car then fought for six months until I eventually got my money back off the credit card company.

I absolutely do not recommend this company. I feel completely deceived, and this matter will most likely end up in court.

I took out a loan to purchase my company car. This company delayed handing over the vehicle for three weeks. When the day of collection finally came, it turned out that none of the previously agreed issues had been fixed. On top of that, new problems appeared — the rear light in this electric car was half-filled with water, the bumper was damaged, and there was a sticker placed on the front seat to cover a hole.

I refused to accept such a dangerous vehicle, and I was then told that neither my money nor the loan would be refunded.

If this situation does not change, I will see you in court.

This was a great experience overall as I got a brilliant service from the sales team who met my demand when looking for the perfect vehicle and were really friendly.Would recommend to buy from here

Do not BUY any vehicle whatsoever off these scammers, What a bunch of crooks! bought a Land Rover off them 3 years ago (the engine blew up after 5 weeks with an repair bill of £16k!) They lie and deceive people and have no morals!
I have only just got my money back after a lengthy legal battle. I won in court but had to instruct enforcement officers to get my money back! Steer clear at all costs!

One-star – The biggest mistake I’ve made buying a vehicle

I raised concerns before purchase and was told the van had been fully checked and was in good working order.

Within a short time, it was clear this was not true. Serious faults appeared, leaving me over £3,000 out of pocket on hire vehicles and facing a repair bill of more than £3,000.

This is not about the sales staff – they sell what they are told. The problem goes beyond them, to how vehicles are prepared and how serious issues are handled after sale.

Another worrying dealership. Do not even bother with them.

Absolutely terrible after sales.. it’s not existent search on companies house the directors… purchased Land Rover discovery which has some major issues then within the 30days I have contacted this company for return or repair and zero response, It would have been good to make a deal the easy way but now it’s the long route. See photos of repair bill and car that was sold it’s not a cheap car also not a cheap fix!

I wanted to leave my feedback on these guys, they made the purchase easy and swift. Huge selection of vans in very good condition to, a large operation that’s providing every type of commercial vehicle. My personal experience has been excellent. I was dealing with a gentleman by the name of Ayaan.

Don't trust Car Firm. They will ask for a deposit and not advise that this is non refundable. They are deceitful, untrustworthy and just don't go there at all. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY DEPOSITS you will never see your money again. They are probably making more money by keeping deposits than selling cars.
They will lie their way out of giving the money back both to the banks and the courts. We will be contacting Trading Standards to make a formal complaint about this company and advise everyone else who has had the same experience to do the same.

We’re do I start with this company, from start to finish this company messed me around with delivery, they lied and never valeted the car was dirty , they also lied about it being serviced. I received the car nearly four weeks after wanting it. It came with large chips in paintwork and rip in the ceiling also a large rip in drives seat. After only driving it twice all electrics started failing and took it to the garage to hear the alternator needed fixing ( which they must have already known!!
Then on pickup I was told by the garage the engine is on its last legs and it has an oil leek, thanks for ripping me of be careful buying cars from here u may aswell set fire to your money. If I could give no stars I would.

bought a van online, rang up, sales said the van was all good to go, Traveled 5 hr from Manchester to get there and find out it needed two new tyres, no code for media system it's still broken, broken wing mirror broken back door lock, i was not going take the van but was told it would get fixed for me in 7 to 10 days its been over a month now, iv gone to trading standard and so far had nothing but head aces i would avoid this company. better car and van sales

Would give 0 if I could. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Dreadful. Easily the worst place i have ever bought a car from. Faulty vehicle, never fixed. The place is run by kids fresh out of school. Complete nightmare experience.

Trust the reviews, the way they deal with complaints at this place is shocking. I cant go into too much detail due to legal reasons and having to take thing further.

They also should be investigated for the many number of fake positive reviews. Groups of them are written similarly, and some when you click on the name are reviewing the same companies.

The worst experience my parents have ever had with a car purchase, it went wrong countless times, the service was appalling and repairs took for ever then weren't even done properly. Management made a lot of promises which were never fulfilled and then communication ceased and calls were ignored.

On 29th June 2023 I purchased a Land Rover Discovery Sport from CAR FIRM. At the time of purchasing the vehicle I also purchased the premium warranty service through AUTOGUARD WARRANTIES.
The next day I notified CAR FIRM that there was a smell of burning rubber every time the car had stopped or was at a standstill from being driven. 7 days later CAR FIRM instructed me to get a diagnostic done on the vehicle from a local garage which confirmed that the car required a replacement clutch and I should not be driving the vehicle anywhere else. The Manager of CAR FIRM, Adam KHAN told me to go and get quotes from local VAT registered garages then fused to communicate with me going forward.
On Monday 10th July 2023 having found a garage, the mechanic informed me that the car had a burnt-out clutch and Dual mass flywheel costing just under £2400 to fix.
On Tuesday 11th July 2023 I contacted CAR FIRM to confirm how they intended to pay for the repairs. CAR FIRM refused to pay for the repairs. This put me in a very awkward position where I had to pay for the repairs myself. Also, I had discovered that the premium warranty had not been set up.
On the 22nd July 2023 3 weeks after a lot of phone calls back and forth; CAR FIRM confirmed that my warranty with AUTOGUARD was set up. I noticed that the account start date appeared to be back dated to when it should have been made active 3 weeks earlier. This meant that I was only getting 49 weeks of warranty cover instead of 52 weeks. We also realised that the V5 log had not arrived.
On the 9th October 2023 we had to completed a V62 form requesting a V5 log from the DVLA as the new registered keeper of the vehicle. As CAR FIRM failed to do this.
I started court proceedings as CAR FIRM refused to talk to me. After a 2-year process through small claims court We won our case and got the full refund for the repairs and court cost. We even use the trust pilot reviews as evidence to show that CAR FIRM are a dodgy corrupt second-hand car dealership that bring in cars and stick a fresh MOT on them regardless of their condition and take your money and will lie and fob you off to keep your cash.
If you choose to ignore this review, then please take this advice; RECORD EVERYTHING! Emails, phone calls and all documents as you will need it for when you go to court to get your money back. Also do not believe a word the manager Adam KHAN says as he is a has no problem lying to a County Court Judge to keep your money. He will certainly lie to you.
Or do the sensible thing and stay away from CAR FIRM.

This is one of the most disgraceful companies I have ever encountered in the UK motor trade.

Car Firm took a deposit from a vulnerable individual for a van that was never delivered, never accepted, and later proven to be in defective and unroadworthy condition. Rather than doing the lawful and decent thing — refunding the money — they doubled down with lies, deception, and intimidation.

They submitted a chargeback defence to the bank that was riddled with false claims: they pretended the customer had taken the vehicle (they hadn’t), accused them of fraud (they hadn’t), and even threatened to report them to Action Fraud — a blatant abuse of process and power.

This wasn’t just poor service — this was deliberate, strategic misconduct, targeted at someone with limited resources and personal vulnerability.

The case is now the subject of legal action and formal complaint to regulators. In my opinion, this company should be on the radar of Trading Standards and the Financial Conduct Authority, and should be avoided by anyone who expects even the most basic ethics from a business.

Shame on Car Firm. No respect for the law, no respect for customers, and no integrity whatsoever.

If I could give less than one star I would do. This company are absolutely diabolical. I bought a van for work from them and then within less than eight weeks the clutch had gone and I was left with a £1400 bill. Trying to talk to them about their so-called warranty scheme was an absolute disgrace. They denied all liability; refused to help and were rude and abusive. Do not buy a can or car from these people as they are dishonest.
