They took my money but I never received the car that I paid for.

Was not explained to me that there was a £60 out of hours fee.
What for? I returned the car to the office, and nobody was there, I had to put the keys in a box outside. Why the fee? Disgraceful - will never use them again!

DONT RENT CARS FROM THIS COMPANY!! Low rental charges through AUTOVIA but then cars full of defects which they then blame you for upon return even though you pointed out ALL defects out on collecting (our car had 16 defects recorded on it when we finally left the compound!- they lie about what you are signing for which is only in foreign language then when you return car you find out YOU HAVE ALREADY SIGNED TO AGREE TO DAMAGES BEFORE YOU EVEN TOOK THE CAR!!!!! WHAT A RIP OFF DISGRACEFUL COMPANY - PLEASE SHARE.... CAR DEL MAR WHO WE BOOKED WITH WOULD NOT HELP, WHY DO YOU USE AUTOVIA WHEN SO MANY SIMILAR ONLINE REPORTS OF SCAMS

Hired a car for a week through my debit card when I got my voucher it stated I had to bring my credit card even though I had opted for excess insurance. Sent them an e-mail saying I didn’t have a credit card and if that was a requirement then just to cancel and refund my money. Now I have to send screenshot of e-mail which I have tried to do but alas they say no good. Don’t know why they can’t just look up the e-mail themselves. Difficult rude and condescending staff when you phone I would never ever use or recommend to anyone. You have been warned

Don't touch with a barge pole. Internet booking for car hire in Santorini on 'full to full' fuel policy. Car was delivered with almost empty tank. Agent from sub-contracted Sunrise Rent A Car didn't want to know. When checking the car for dents and scratches, he was rude and aggressive. Condition of car was ropy. On 5th and final day, engine started rattling. Sounded like gear box was about to pack in. Feared we weren't going to make it to the airport. Went over a large bump in the road and the noise disappeared! Wrote a complaint email to MD in Germany, mostly about fuel misrepresentation, but no response received.

Crap company - They asked for a credit card at the last moment which i was born without one unfortunately why the hell do they expect everybody to have one.

Genuinely one of the worst companies on the planet to deal with.

Booked a car hire through them to pick up from Cape Town. Their voucher stated explicitly the one-way fee was a certain amount. When we reached Europcar, the one-way fee they wanted to charge was over 5 times more than what was stated on the voucher. Europcar contacted Cardelmar and tried to sort, instead of apologising they asked me to pay Europcar and then to make a claim to them via their online procedure. I tried doing this on their website and it would simply not accept and ask me to make a force.com account when I have a cardelmar account! Couldn't complain. Then emailed their CEO. No response. Chased up and now they're asking for proof upon proof when I have sent screenshots, receipts and original vouchers. Their customer service in Netherlands or Germany is shockingly bad.

They are robbers - I made a booking through CarDelMar to rent a car with Easirent and on pick-up day, I passed all DVLA checks and provided proof of residency etc, and was about to be given the car when Easirent asks if I have been in an accident in the last 36 months to which I responded yes. Easirent then refused to rent me the car, although this was not in their Terms and Conditions and said I will need to obtain my money back through CarDelMar.

Contacted CarDelMar on two occasions and they have responded no refund with no reason. Have written to their complaints department, at which they said I failed DVLA check when I did not, and is a blatant lie which I will be proceeding to take them to court for.

Please avoid at all cost and do not use as they will not provide any refund and I am recovering the money through my credit card.

Really useless website once you start trying to fill in the form to book.
Why do I have to list my name under "company"?
And why must I choose "Mr" or "Mrs" for driver details? I am neither a Mr nor a Mrs.
Also not happy with the clarity of some of the information. For example what is "order/book with payment commitment? (Or whatever the final button says- something like that)
Also not clear about "refund of excess" when there is no information about what the excess might be.
Altogether not very user-friendly

Zeer slechte niet klantgerichte organisatie. Een boeking geplaatst bij Alamo via cardelmar. Op het vliegveld aangekomen bleek de limiet niet toerijkend van mijn creditcard (mijn fout). Terwijl Alamo gewoon een vergoeding geeft bij niet opgehaalde voertuigen, kan ik hier geen aanspraak op maken omdat Cardelmar er tussen zit en zij het geld incasseren. Volgende keer boek ik gewoon rechtstreeks bij de verhuur organisatie.

The booking process was very clear and all of the information that I needed was visible/accessible. The price was good aswell. Used CardelMar twice now and been very satisfied both with the ease of booking and also the quality of the car supplied. Staff at Las Palmas, Gran Canaria were very friendly too.

Will never use this company again. Complete waste of my time and money. Booked a car through them and they sent me to Green Motion (No concept of customer service FYI). Would not change the main driver, I had to come up with all the solutions as CarDelMar were closed and Green Motion didn't care. Once you make the booking you cannot change anything. You have to cancel and then you have to wait 2 hours to re book.
I have contacted them and they are unwilling to update their terms and conditions to alert people to the fact you can't change the main driver once you have booked.

Do not use this site they use cheap hire companies.We paid for all inclusive plus package which covers the deposit of £1200 and when we arrived we were charged £30 a day for this insurance , it's a rip off.

Looks to have reasonable priced excess refund insurance so I booked car hire with all the insurances for peace of mind. And hopefully no silly arguments at the car hire office.

I only wanted to change my pick up time by 1 hour but the website did not recognise my Booking number so had to tel. helpline. Good prompt and frienly answering service but they had to cancel and refund original booking and I had to make a new one. Worth the hassle as car was cheaper second time round.

Da evitare nel modo più assoluto, inseriscono nei contratti per il noleggio clausole onerosissime, in automatico senza evidenziarle adeguatamente, come la restituzione senza rifornimento. Scoprirlo poi al momento del noleggio dall'operatore è sgradevolissimo. Pessimi! Assolutamente da evitare, mai più un noleggio tramite Car Del Mar.

Could not see how to book in toll charge mechanism online - that kept rejecting me when I tried it.

When returning to payment form after reading Terms & Conditions a lot of the data fields had been cleared and had to be re-entered. The telephone number fields were not long enough, generated an error, and again cleared data from the payment form which had to be re-entered. By then I was losing the will to live. Please test this form thoroughly using a normal member of the public NOT the person who programmed it (who will unconsciously avoid making mistakes he hasn't catered for).

Top Class Company. I use them very regularly to rent in Dublin. Prices are usually the lowest compared to other booking engines. If you need to book something very last minute (i.e. when you are in the airport terminal) than this is the only company I have found that allows me to do that.

Highly recommend and have never had cause for complaint. I buy an annual excess policy (circa £35 annual fee) and so simply pay the basic rental cost on each rental agreement.
