Pembrey Country Park Club Site
We’ve been visiting Pembrey Country Park Club Site for over 20 years, and it’s a place that holds a special place in our hearts. We’ve enjoyed so many visits over the years, and it’s always a pleasure to return.
One of the things that makes this site so special are the wardens. They are always so friendly, welcoming and helpful, and you can really see the pride they take in keeping the site looking so lovely. The site is always clean, tidy and well cared for, which makes such a difference to your stay.
The location is fantastic, with Pembrey Country Park and the beautiful beach right on your doorstep. There are so many lovely walks to enjoy, whether you fancy a stroll through the park, a walk along the beach or simply getting out and enjoying the fresh air.
After more than 20 years of visiting, we still love coming here. It’s one of those places where you feel comfortable and welcome, and we always look forward to our next visit.
A huge thank you to the wardens, past and present, for helping to make this such a wonderful place to stay. We wouldn’t have kept coming back for over 20 years if it wasn’t special. Highly recommended!

Well situated, short walk into York City centre and access to main historic sites. Also access to some local shops behind the site which is handy. A very busy site so book first.

Standards
Overall the sites are always maintained to a high standard with toilets being a must for hygiene. The only issue along with many of our friends saying the same is the prices, slightly higher than we expect. (Although we will still be renewing memberships for the vast choice of sites it offers) .

Finally, zero cover available for any property in Northern Ireland with the Clubs home insurance company … despite NI being in the United Kingdom?
ALL of these issues have been raised with the Club to no avail AND requesting updates after weeks/months?

Hiya, I am so sorry to read about your frustration regarding these ongoing issues. I can completely understand how disappointing it is to feel let down across so many areas of your membership, especially when you have been waiting for updates for so long.
To clarify our current position on the matters you have raised:
Regarding site availability and discounts in Northern Ireland, we currently do not operate any UK Club Campsites or Certificated Locations in Northern Ireland, which means site discount vouchers cannot be redeemed in this region. We are predominantly a UK-based Club, and therefore we have limited services outside of the UK. Similarly, ferry discount codes are available only on specific routes that have been negotiated with our operator partners, and routes between Ireland and France or Spain are not covered under these agreements.
In relation to home insurance, our insurance policies operate under specific underwriting criteria set by our insurer, which unfortunately means we are currently unable to offer home insurance cover for properties located in Northern Ireland.
As the original Red Pennant European travel insurance is no longer supplied directly by the Club, all travel insurance assistance and policies are now managed by PJ Hayman under their own administrative criteria.
We appreciate you raising these points regarding our campsite network, member discounts, ferry routes, and insurance options in Northern Ireland. As a membership organisation, we strive to deliver value to all our tourers and constantly evaluate our product offerings and partner agreements. We truly value your support as we continue working to develop and enhance the member experience.

Local information is always readily available on site regarding visitor attractions, walks, cycles and places to eat. The value of being a member pays dividends over and over again.

Having been members of the CAMC for over 17 years, the consistency of helpfulness from wardens and standard of facilities is always welcomed. You can guarantee cleanliness, orderliness and the facilities often surpass expectations as for example at Carnon Downs site near Truro, Cornwall. Directions to sites given in the handbook are invaluable though abbreviations used can occasionally be confusing. Booking is very straightforward and we have found out if a site appears full on the website, it is always worth phoning a site directly for the most up to the minute availability. All of the above indicates that booking a site with CAMC provides good value for money and we will hopefully continue to use the club for many years to come.

Good experiences at all sites visited
All the sites we've stayed at have been in the UK, they are run well, both cl's and larger club sites. Shower blocks have always been very clean. "Dog friendly" sites have been just that. We like the fact that you can select your own pitch, if we had to have a pitch allocated we wouldn't be members. All sites very quiet in the night. We also like the catering vans that arrive on some sites in the evenings when you can't be bothered to cook. Some of the sites also have essentials for sale which is useful if you've forgotten the tea bags! Staff are always friendly and helpful. All positive experiences, roll on next summer.

Great locations and sites
Always helpful with some great locations in UK.
Unfortunately not many are open in France from September to June so have to look elsewhere then.
Upgraded facility blocks in UK are superb but shutting them completely to clean is over the top. Private sites always seem to get around this with no closures.
Shops could be stocked better with proper essentials, butter, bread, milk, eggs etc. Another benefit from Private sites.
More info on website before booking regarding distance to public transport, cycle paths, how to get to places of interest and time it takes on public transport would make picking sites so much easier.
But overall we've mainly had great experiences.
