I ordered a rifle on the 1st of June…
I ordered a rifle on the 1st of June this year. I reached out to them on the 6th of June looking for an update on the shipment and never got a response from them. A few days later the charge disappears from my credit statement and still no word from Brownell's. I then got an email telling me my order was on hold as they await FFL information. I told them to cancel the order and I no longer wanted to do business with them. Few days later they ship the rifle and send me an invoice. I told them I'm not paying for the rifle and to cancel the order! Today I wake up to see my credit card was charged and the shipment is proceeding as planned (by them, not me). You can't call in without waiting 4+ hours because apparently there's always 300 people ahead of you in line (convenient if you never want to speak to people). I will be reaching out to my credit card company next and telling them that Brownell's charged my credit card fraudulently. Take your business elsewhere because these guys are overpriced and their customer service is pure garbage!

Good products….Worst customer service ever!!! I have spent many dollars at Brownells and have never had a problem. They sell quality products at competitive prices. Recently, I ordered a scope from them. After a few weeks when the scope didn’t arrive I thought I’d contact them (Brownells never reached out to me). I reached them via their online chat. They told me they had a question about my order and needed to speak to me. They said I’d need to call and speak to someone live, but their customer service operators were gone and I’d have to call the next day. Tried to call the next day. Several hundred ppl ahead of me and my estimated wait time was 4 hours! Tried live chatting again. They told me Again I’d have to speak to someone live and confirmed the wait was about 4 hours. After some back and forth with them on chat I asked to cancel the order and went to a competitor and bought my scope. I won’t buy from them again. The reviews I’ve read about them is pretty accurate - they are decent until you have a problem and then trying to reach anyone who can help you is a joke. They really need to tighten up their customer service. I won’t use them anymore just based on how bad their customer service department is. You can buy what they sell from any number of suppliers at the same cost - my advise would be to do that.

This has got to be the worst company in the world to deal with. Not only are they liars its near impossible to speak to anyone without waiting half a day. I ordered a Henry 30-30 it took almost a year to get shipped . by then my FFL on record had moved out of state. After many attempts to talk to a human I finally got customer service to intercept my gun half way and return to them so they could send to my new FFL. They assured me thats what would happen. Nope my gun was returned and they shipped it to someone else. .
Don't expect to get your money back!
I ordered 2 items from Brownell's 03/07/22. One of them, a laser boresighter, was defective. I returned the item and it was received by Brownell's on 03/28/22, confirmed by an email they sent. I have yet to receive my refund.
I have called them 4 times now 04/25, 05/07, 05/17 and again today, 06/02 and every time there is a different excuse:
1) They were erroneously issuing the refund via a gift card when I paid by debit card.
2) They switched to a new computer system and lost all of the stored CC information.
3) The shipping department is "kind of a mess" and very backlogged.
4) We weren't sure which card to issue the refund to. The previous time I called, I explained that the card that the purchase was made on I had cancelled due to fraudulent charges and provided Brownell's my new cards information. Pretty pathetic.
Completely unacceptable and I would advise anyone to avoid this retailer at ALL costs. The only positive thing I can say is that their callback system when you are on hold does actually work. They will call you back, just don't expect anything productive to come from it. An absolute shame what has become of this company, which had an excellent reputation previously.
06/16/22: Still no refund. I've filed a complaint with the BBB but I'm not expecting much to come from that considering the BBB still has Brownell's listed with an A+ rating. I'll see what happens and I will provide further updates.

Got through to chat after a long wait and the Rep was no help and seemed to be buying time before he closed the chat during my inquiries.
What a joke. I've ordered from Brownells in the past, but it has gotten so bad, that I am deleting my account.
Horrible experience
I am a first time customer and most likely a last time customer as this has been nothing less than a headache. First my order was stuck being processed for over a week. After me contacting brownells I was informed that I had to call a verification team in which I wouldn't have known about unless I contacted brownells then when I got "verified" the shipping got messed up. The shipping label was created and after another week I contacted them agian. It Is now getting forwarded to their claims team as they don't know if it left or not. since it "shipped" a refund can't be issued although they don't know if it shipped or not.... Horrible experience so far. it's been 16 days since the order was placed and now I have to deal with a claims department. Save your time and money and shop elsewhere.

Brownells Fraud
7 days ago today, I ordered 9 Brownells 30 round ar-15 mags. Immediately after I placed the order, my count was charges 119 dollars twice. I spoken to customer service 3 times in the last seven days, as well as emailed nearly every day. They told me the card got pre-authorized twice. While that's true, it means I cannot access my own money. They told me the hold would drop off...every time telling me a little longer. IT HAS BEEN A WEEK. they've fraudulently taken twice as much money as they should have, and have never shipped my product. They just shipped me something earlier this month. I'm disappointed. I liked them. I'll never give them my money again.

In the past I have bought things from Brownells and have been pretty satisfied. I’m not sure what has happened to this company but my last and probably final order was a complete disaster. My account was charged at least five separate times in which I had to make at least eight different phone calls waiting for hours for them to return my call. I’m sorry to say it but if you can find what you want somewhere else, even if you have to pay a little more it would probably be worth it.

Poor customer service and triple charged my bank.
I've ordered from Brownells before with no issues. That's not the case this time.
Ordered sights for my pistol with total cost of $101.99. Next day I go to the atm and I get insufficient funds,i know there should be almost $300 after paying brownells. What they did was put three separate pending withdrawals against my account leaving $204 of my money marked as gone.
I call customer service and after almost two hours and being transfered to the wrong department I get told the other two will be dropped in seven days. I'm self employed and have to be on jury duty this week so I'm not making any money and they have my money tied up for no reason. Mind you they got their money and still haven't released the money they shouldn't have held. Holding three times the purchase cost is unacceptable and they didn't seem to care one bit.
Things happen, what a company does when they do is what makes a good company or a bad one. Brownells has now shown to be a bad one. Customer service while polite is useless and the fact waiting on hold for very long periods is a sign they are having many more customer issues. Hopefully when the sights get here Monday they are correct and undamaged as at this point I don't want to deal with customer service again and won't be ordering from them anymore.
The hell with brownells
Ordered a benchrest 6 weeks ago. Brownel's charged my card right away, but after a week they cancelled the order. Called them, waited on hold for 2 hours, not one apology. Cust svc person said, "they're sold out. want to order a different one?" which I did. Stupid idea. This one was supposed to come 2nd day air, a week later it shows up. It's way too heavy to use, so I called again and ordered a lighter one. It was supposed to show up but didn't after a week, so I called Brownells again. After waiting another 90 minutes on hold, they couldn't find the order. WTH? Two days later it shows up. This morning, Brownell's charged my card again for the original purchase. WTH. Called they and after waiting another 90 minutes on hold, not one apology, asked for a supervisor who was a complete a'hole, asked for a manager, still waiting for his/her call. I called my bank and issued fraudulent charges and filed a complaint with the BBB not that it will help any. What a screwed up company. JHC

When searching for ammo online, it comes up with the Product Being Searched for, not the Entire Website, so if they have these restrictions, they surely Do Not make you aware of them before you place an order.
Also their Chat and Phone Service is non-existent.
They will get back with you however....after you Download the WhatsApp App.

Bogus coupon code - Live chat no help
Pop up stated that if I signed up with an account, I would get a code for $10 off of my order as well as Free shipping. I signed up, got the code "RTA" but when I went to use it, it wouldn't work. During chat, I was told that it isn't for free shipping although the email that I received said it was. They also told me that the $10 is only valid if $100 is purchased. It didn't say that on the email either. Shady, shady, shady. No resolution at all. Will pay extra to shop somewhere else. Now seeing all of the reviews, I feel like I dodged a bullet.
Really Bad Business Practices
I was shopping for a certain kind of ammo and a Google search showed that Brownell's had it in stock. After getting sent to their website I learned they didn't, but they offered me a discount coupon for a future purchase if I entered my email. Ok, I was a sucker.
They sent the coupon - - expired almost a month before they sent it. Then they started peppering me with useless email ads.
The kicker: I tried to unsubscribe and I got a message that the option isn't available unless I disable ad blockers. I have no ad blockers. I double checked. Tried with another browser and got the same message.
Aargh! Deceptive business practices! Never again! How does an established company get so terrible?

Diese Firma ist eine Schande! 3x eine Mail geschickt (Brownells.ch) und nie eine Antwort erhalten. Auch nach 3 Wochen nicht. Versucht anzurufen und keiner geht ran. Das ist Kundendienst vom schlechtesten. Die glauben wohl Kunden seien von ihnen abhängig (to big too fail). Nein, es gibt auch andere! Hat nicht einmal einen Stern verdient.

Ordered in stock 9mm bullets, was supposed to ship in 3 days, a week later... no email, no tracking number, checked order online... BACK ORDERED! Looked at website again... In Stock! They play bait and switch... Called, emailed, no response or call back. I have to wait 11 days to open dispute with discover. I will because I am going on trip and I don't want 1000 bullets sitting on my front porch. Will never order from them again.

This company is horrible, don’t be like me and think hey it’s a big company lots of people on social media are sponsored by them and they must be legit, they are horrible and I haven’t written a review in years but do not order anything from them, showed they had a geissele scope mount in stock after ordering didn’t ship for a week, emailed and got a message that due to large volume they would respond to message in 2 weeks, called and was on hold over a hour to get someone on phone and took 15 min to confirm they didn’t have it and they were going to refund my money, I ordered elsewhere that actually had it, then another week later they bill me for it and ship it out, needless to say can’t get a response to get ahold of anyone there, this place is garbage beware.
