I purchased a tool kit from them. Purchase made on 1/11/24, website stated it would ship two day priority USPS. I then called on 1/15/24 becuase I had not received a shipping confirmation and was told it would be delivered on 1/18/24. Called customer service on 1/22/24, who couldn't figure out why/where the package was and was transfered to another department. They couldn't say for sure, but they think 1/24/24 now. Their shipping system system is a disaster. I found out that I paid for FedEx ground but the website stated and shipped USPS 2nd day but it didn't. Brownell's also can't get an order pakcaged, labeled and out their door in less than 3 days, so throw out any sort of expedited shipping. They have had issues with their shipping system since November '23 that they know about but haven't fixed. Horrible.
Purchased 2 firearms
Purchased 2 firearms, both had issues. First was Taurus G3, manufacturer used red Loctite on the screws for the optic plate cover to hide damaged threads, Brownell's tech wanted me to heat up the slide, melting the sleeve inside to get the screws out causing more damage! No thanks and no help there.
Second was an FN LS Edge with the vortex optic. Optic is garbage, Vortex said it is what it is and Brownell's said they will not warranty it because its serialized! Rep didn't offer to replace, repair, credit, nothing!! So much for their forever warranty!!!! 2k in business and this is how they treat customers, never again!!

I was sent a used and damage Trijicon SRO!!
I ordered a $521.00 Trijicon SRO optic and Brownells sent me a USED and damage SRO!! I was shocked that I received a previously mounted and damaged SRO. I was in disbelief I confirmed with Trijicon manufacturing with photos etc.
Additionally the SRO model they sent was an old version.
I spoke with a supervisor and they were going to send me out one immediately and never did!
Don't Buy From Brownells!
Brownells takes advantage of customers and price gouges them, especially on products that are difficult to find. They also show very low sale prices on products that they don't even have in stock and state "In Stock" which makes them liars and con artists deceiving the public. Stay away from these thieves and buy from the many other businesses that appreciate you.
What a rip-off!
Great tools. Wrong store to buy them at! I tried to buy a $4.00 part and shipping was $13.00 until I canceled the insurance and then it went to $10.00. Twice the cost of the part. A real rip-off.
Brownells is overall a solid company…
Brownells is overall a solid company and I'm having great difficulty believing that most of these one-star reviews are genuine. Overall I've found them to be just about as reliable as anyone around and my only serious complaint about them is that their pricing tends to be on the high side. It pays to shop around.
That said, they have just about as good an inventory as anyone these days and the merchandise I've gotten from them has been flawless. They carry specialty tools that are hard to find from most other retailers. The only time I had to return something it was because I accidentally bought an item I already had and i didn't need a spare. The return process was simple and painless. I have contacted them for support by phone and found them to be quite helpful and knowledgeable.
Some other minor frustrations I wish they would fix: I don't always receive a notification when an order ships. Also, when you place a backorder with them, they don't provide any estimate of when the order will ship.

Got my pistol order fairly quickly and in great condition. Customer service was very courteous and helpful. My only complaint would be that when I place my order on the weekend, I didn't get an email with my order number until Monday.
Awful company Awful experience
I ordered a Howa 1500 6.5 Creedmoor barreled action from them to build an inexpensive PRS rifle on 10/13. When it came time to pick up my item from the FFL, the tracking changed to “returned to sender”. Long story short, they fouled up the shipping address (I believe they tried to send it to me directly instead of my FFL). When I called customer service, it was an awful experience with many phone calls having to be placed by me. They offered no expedited shipping, or any kind of discount for the inconvenience either. I finally cancelled the order and weeks later I still haven’t received my correct refund after weeks of waiting. I tried again today, and was told they did refund me, but they are full of crap. It’s impossible to get them on the phone, and if you do, they don’t help you and their chat bots don’t help either. Don’t do business with them. I’ve done lots of business with a large number of online firearm dealers but have never had such a bad experience as with Brownells. Awful company and an ongoing awful experience.
Ordered ammunition that was in stock…
Ordered ammunition that was in stock and should have been filled and shipped as quickly as possible. Was told it takes longer to process because of staffing. In my view staffing issues are a business problem that should not affect customer orders and needs to be addressed by the company without impacting the customer. Also, expect all orders after 1:00 PM CST, to be processed the next day. Really!! Who only works until 1:00 p.m. CST? Last time buying from Brownell for anything.

Be forwarned...I'm 71 years old and made countless online orders to all kinds of companies and this is the absolute worst I've dealt with.
To give you an idea how bad they are it's been reported that UPS refuses to pick up orders from them.
My first order went out USPS on the 14th. Of Sept. And was lost on the 18th...not Brownells fault. They filled out a replacement order on Friday...and printed out a shipping label on that same friday.Of course no pickups were made Sat. Or Sun.
They promised 2 day shipping with FedEx so I expected the package to be picked up from them on Monday...Monday night tracking showed it was still sitting at their facility...I called asking why it didn't go out monday...of course the answer was . " I don't know".
Tuesday night...I checked tracking . Tracking said it hadn't been picked up and it was still at their facility. I called and ask why...she said maybe they had so many pallets there wasn't room on the truck....my order was a "Bad Lever" an item that would fit in a shirt pocket. She said she didn't know why it wasn't picked up and they didn't have any control over the shipper...the shipper appeantly runs their business.So I said let's make this simple and you refund the money to my credit card. She said we don't do that because I didn't buy their $3 shipment insurance and all she could do is give me a Browells gift card for the amount.i told her were not doing your gift card scam today...a gift card would be useless because I'm never ordering from you again. She told me that's all she could do .I told her I was perfectly willing to turn it over to the credit card company and let them decide.. she issued the refund.if I could have given them 0 stars I would have.
Bottom line guys read the reviews and listen to what I'm saying...don't spend your money with Brownells...lots of legit guys and businesses out there need your business and will work hard to get it.
Terrible shipping
Not the first time I ordered from Brownells and got skunked. Was told items were in stock and would ship right away. After ordering and waiting 3 days for shipping I had tried to update shipping to faster delivery and told that the items would ship the next day. 3 days later it did ship and then took 5 days to arrive. And the shipping was not cheap. Will never order again.

Placed an order there 10 days ago. Traveling through and wanted to make sure what I wanted was in stock. Specified pickup date and was given the order #. Arrived there and nothing - no record, nothing left for pickup, not enough in stock. One other employee told me Cust. Serv. was "full of crap". Called back the next day, gave them my order number to see what the system showed on my order. NOTHING THERE. Total waste of time and gas. There was a time when B was a good company to deal with. No more. Midway USA is looking better all the time.

Don’t waste your time with coupons.
Placed an order for a firearm and accessories like bullets a light / laser etc. Everything went through just fine until AFTER they got shipped notifications. That night I went to bed and was double charged. One with a coupon one without. The next morning I work up and the coupon charge is gone completely and just the second charge remained. Luckily I had enough to cover both charges in my bank account. Others might not be so lucky and it would have cause me to overdraft it could’ve caused a shipping delay because they don’t know how coupon’s work and without so much as a “our bad that coupon shouldn’t have gone through “ they charged me a second time. Not good business practices but good enough to permanently lose my business. Oh well you live you learn.
Edge ain't 2-day, Primers have massive gouging markups
I'm an Edge member, and they continue to use FedEx ground for my orders, which FedEx is very clear is 3-4 days to me. Any conversation with them on the matter is a waste of time. My options are pay the extra 20 for overnight, or see it in 4 days. And then sometimes they take a couple of days to ship simple items. And now, on top of that, they are trying to get people for an extra $3 for order insurance, regardless of order value. Nevermind that UPS and FedEx cover the first $100 in value for free. Just another money grab.
I am also an FFL with wholesale accounts for reloading supplies. I assume Brownell's gets better pricing than little old me, but even at my pricing, their continued markup on primers is almost 100%. That's just straight money grab.
I've been shopping with Brownells since the 90s, and I am disappointed with what Pete has let his business become.

Bought a complete lower sent ffl info told me they didn't receive it send it again told me they got it waited 3 days for shipping info call them up again said they were still waiting for ffl info it's like no one there know what's the hell is going on , told them to cancel my order, will go some place else.
Not impressive
This was my second order from Brownells. Slow processing before shipping. It took about two weeks for me to receive my items. The customer service person over the phone was not very respectful. I would choose BCM or Primary Arms next time.
