A magical Christmas experience
To be honest this place certainly knows how to bring Christmas to life. The whole place is magical.
The light shows are amazing. The parks are amazing for children and the staff are all so friendly and can't do enough to help.
Will definitely go back again next year.
Only gripe I would have is the buggies and the selfish self centred drivers blocking wheelchair access.
But bluestone can't do anything about the selfish individuals in life. However they have done their part by employing amazing human beings who will do absolutely anything to help.
Currently staying at bluestone the…
Currently staying at bluestone the place is a rip off!! Have to pay for almost every activity all facilities food places take aways are non existent after 8 everything closes down by then even the shop really boring when your on a holiday no evening entertainment nothing there is even a price list for maid service the amount of money you pay to stay here 6.50 for a single sheet change £30 an hr to clean your lodge madness!!! Completely exploiting families it's really quiet to not what I was expecting take your families somewhere else because it really is not worth the money at all most boring place we've been can't check into lodge till 4.30 on your first day chuck you out last day by 10 so that's 2 days gone off a 5 day holiday the place is shocking it really is and I would never return here
Fantastic experience for all the family
My family & I had to most amazing time at Bluestone, we had so many activities for all ages & ability’s.
The memories we made are just fantastic & to be treasured. Staff were incredible with assisting us & a special mention to the manager Emma who made everything so special & thoughtful.
The lost property staff were also brilliant in finding my son’s mobile phone as he’s autistic & constantly needs & loves it.
I’m already into booking our next family holiday there as it’s just so wonderful.
Less than we hoped for
Our group of 4 adults and 2 three year old stayed in 25 knights rest 31 July to 5 Aug 2023. Here our views on what went well and what needs improving.
What went well.
• The kids enjoyed the Blue Lagoon and the Hive
• Staff were nice, polite and did their best to help guests. When we reported problems with our hot water and TV they were fixed promptly. When I complained, we all found the beds uncomfortable, mattress toppers and extra pillows were provided the same day. When I needed to print and post a document I received by email, staff in guest services and at the gatehouse were able to oblige. All very good
• I had an excellent massage in the Well Spa Retreat
• We enjoyed a very good meal in the Farmhouse Grill
What needs improving
• Aside from the uncomfortable beds (which we improved by turning the mattresses) our biggest disappointment was the lack of options for children under six or smaller kids. Ours were restricted to swimming and the Hive, although in there they needed constant parental supervision as the inflatables were often overcrowded and pre-teens would rush about play fighting. It was only by luck there were no accidents. If this free attraction is not going to be staffed, it should have sessions for older and younger children
• There was a lack of organized play activity for smaller children with the opportunity to socialize outside the family as they would in playgroup
• The app is pretty poor. A lack of information and functionality means you have to use the website to do anything you need. A map feature would help orient yourself, especially when walking, so you don’t have to follow the buggy route. We were at the end of Knight’s Rest and found our walking shortcut
.Signage is often confusing or misplaced. I ended up at Black Pool Mill asking for directions, because I did not see the markings for the Yellow route back to Bluestone behind me.
• The website was not intuitive, difficult to book, and had no option for a larger group to manage a booking or plan effectively. With a group of adults, they should be able to book and pay for services separately
• The account function is no more than a log in. You should be able to see a summary of your purchases/ bookings, as you would in a hotel
• The complimentary meal we received to compensate for our problems was really poor. The pizza cheese was like wax and the fish was dry. Had I paid for it I would have sent it back
• The booking system is odd. Both the Spa and the restaurant showed limited options, but when we used those facilities, they were almost empty
• Food options for the Hive and Dome were limited, so we had to go back to our accommodation to eat, vs spending more money/ time on site
• The lack of washing facilities was inconvenient, given Bluestone is an outdoors venue where kids and adults get muddy. I understand their eco aspirations, but this one is just not practical
So many extras are expensive.eg Golf buggy £125 indoor zip line £30.
In summary, our Bluestone experience was less than we hoped it might be. I could not see us returning until the children are much older and can fully participate in the adventure facilities. At their age, a swimming pool and the beach meet their holiday needs. As none of the adults slept well all week, there was probably an element of grumpiness in our comments, but that was our experience.
I made these comments to Bluestone on my return home and received a pro forma rebuttal.
No respect for the people who funded your “resort”
I used to use the Blue lagoon water park as a child with my friends from a nearby caravan site. I rung today hoping to get into the water park with my partner only to find out they’ve stopped public use. Not only is this disrespectful to the people who supported the business in the early days but also local people who have supported the establishment. Very disappointing and I really hope they sort out their customer relationships.
A lovely resort, especially for families with young children
A lovely location with a well thought out resort. The accommodation is basic but well equipped for short stays. Our lodge wasn’t without issues but it didn’t detract from our holiday. The staff were lovely and we enjoyed everywhere we went for food and drink. We participated in a variety of fun activities though the resort is very much aimed at families with young children. We were, however, disappointed with the spa which definitely wasn’t up to standard. Lots of things ‘out of order’ (lockers, showers…), empty hand soap and sanitizer dispensers, overflowing laundry chute and the distinct smell of drains in certain areas. Again, the staff were lovely although a ‘booking in’ administration error resulted in a shorter than paid for massage.
Bluestone is great but careful with the 10% deposit
Bluestone is great . No dogs, lovely walks and modern chalets. Be careful though if you take up the 10% deposit option as you have to pay more deposit after 8 weeks. This information is there (sort of ) in small print but isn't at all clear. No reminder if you don't pay this extra deposit you lose your booking and 10% deposit. This extra deposit requirement isn't noted in the 'You have a balance of £ xxx to pay ' information at the top of your booking.
We had our first Bluestone experience…
We had our first Bluestone experience this week and absolutely loved it! We were initially disappointed that they had run out of buggies by the time we arrived as I have mobility problems, however blue badge holders can take their car on site so I could easily get about.
The lodge was spotlessly clean and well appointed, beds comfortable. I like that there was a downstairs bedroom and bathroom so that I didn't have to tackle the stairs but a shower would have been much better as disability prevents me getting in and out of a bath.
Staff were very friendly, the food in the pubs was very good and catered for the vegan family members. Overall a great week away with plenty of things for my 2 year old granddaughter to do.
Very poor customer service at the spa
I was treated to a deluxe pedicure, as a birthday treat. It was with shellac nail polish, this came off after one day, so I emailed the spa to ask them if this should have happens and the manager insinuated that I had scratched it off! I was offered £10 of the £70 treatment, when I have to pay to have this removed.
Feedback on accommodation
As grandparents (in our 60's) with our family group we recently enjoyed many aspects of our stay in 48 Preseli View. However the lighting in the lodge was very dim making reading almost impossible. With it being now wintertime, days short and evenings long, this is a disadvantage.
Also, TV channels were limited and lacked the choice for keeping children and adults entertained during the evenings.
We were however very impressed by the speed of response when we reported problems with both showers.
Beautiful place with lots of wholesome fun
A lovely place to stay. Really appreciated the environmental initiatives. Would have liked to have seen more solar panels and easier access to Oakwood theme park for people without a car. Noticed some land being built on looking at bluestone from on top of the rides at Oakwood and would really like if bluestone tries to minimise clearing of land given the biodiversity in the area. Was wonderful seeing a variety of birds and little frogs and newts. Was a really lovely vibe with wonderful helpful and friendly staff.
We will be going again!
I visited Bluestone with my wider family of 10 people (8 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 1) and loved it.
We stayed in a Tenby connecting lodge which was spacious. Communication leading up to our arrival was good. Upon initial sight the lodge was clean. My only gripe with it was that it could have been cleaner. We had black feet by the end of the first day and having moved the single beds together it was clear the carpet hadn’t been cleaned under them. The bathroom and kitchen we in a clean condition though. It had the basic pots, pans etc that you need. It would have been useful if there was a launderette on sight, nevertheless there was one 10 minutes away.
The play facilities were excellent. The water park was full of sensory activities for my little girl. It was extremely warm (this is a good thing, compared to most pools). The Hive (soft play etc) was fantastic, as was the Serendome, with plenty for all the family to do including a water feature which the children could go in and sandy play area. There are so many parks dotted around the sight.
The street food halls were great, unfortunately we ran out of time to visit the restaurants.
I’d recommend they advertise their activities and facilities more on the website and welcome packs (360 degree views etc), to show off what’s on offer. We only found out about the leaving summer festival by chance.
All staff we extremely polite, welcoming and helpful.
We would definitely go again. There’s also lots to do nearby including Folly Farm/ Zoo and of course beautiful beaches.
We paid over £400 towards this holiday…
We paid over £400 towards this holiday only to then find out my partner is pregnant and due around the date of the holiday. It’s a 9 hour journey from where we live to bluestone so we made the decision to cancel hoping we could move on to the following year. I’ve never dealt with any company that was so unhelpful ever! Didn’t try and help didn’t offer to move the holiday date in fact we asked and was told no! No options given at all and as a result after having to cancel we received £0 money back of the £400 we had paid. I’m sure bluestone is a lovely place but due to the shocking service received I will never book a holiday again to bluestone!
First time visit
Had a lovely mid week break , the Spa experience was great and would recommend to all. The food at the grill , was nice and plenty of it ! Just one side dish would be enough . The accommodation was good , a little tired in places but decent , the setting is lovely with loads to do . The complimentary WiFi is really poor so we purchased premium but this only allows two units . This was a bit disappointing given that even Costa has a better WiFi . No mobile reception in the village area . Great little walks and great location for Pembrokeshire
lost property - guest beware !
Overall we had a lovely time at Bluestone , the massage at the spa was the best I have ever had. places to eat were limited and if you have any food intolerances then you are out of luck as they are not keen to help. We left some items behind (2 dressing gowns) and they cant find them which makes us think the cleaning staff have either thrown them away or taken them so guest beware !
Absolutely incredible
This was our first trip to Bluestone and it was everything we hoped for and more! Prior to arrival, I contacted customer services to explain my son's medical condition, they ensured our cottage was ready earlier than expected to fit in with my son's treatment schedule. They also provided us a disabled parking pass to ensure we had immediate access to our car in the event of an emergency. Upon arriving at the cottage, it was absolutely perfect. Kitchen was a fantastic size for myself and my 2 year old. Bedroom and bathroom were massive. Everything you could need was provided, bed linen, towels, cleaning products and toilet rolls. Very impressed with upstairs and downstairs bathrooms too. We stayed in the village so we were right next to the coffee shop, lake, convenience store, pub and park. The pub was nice and staff were lovely but food wasnt great but not as bad as the chippy van. Food there was awful. The swimming pool was good but they operate a 1:1 for under 4's therefore if you have more than 1 child to an adult then you can be confined to the baby section. Swimming aids are expensive in the swimming shop so dont forget your own! The serendome is nice and has a sand play and water play as well as coffee huts. The Hive has a good sized soft play with zip wires and a cafe. We went for the winter lights break and it didnt disappoint, my 2 year old was mesmerised. But what really made the holiday was the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so friendly. We enjoyed it so much, we booked to come back whilst we were still there!
Pathetic
Absolutely pathetic attempt at a holiday resort. Nothing is open (Covid is not an excuse). We are talking about open air food establishment. No restaurants open at sensible times on site (6.30 pm closing for dinner!) so you have to drive offsite for all meals or starve. Staff are rude. Internet (even the rip off paid for version) is non existent so don’t think you’ll be able to entertain yourself while every activity is shut. AVOID this place.

Stayed there Mon-Fri 14th -18th June lodge looking very tired a grassholm sleeps 8
very bad tv reception no drying horse or ironing board very cold at night smart heating
Now installed on a motion sensor so at night the rooms got very cold
Having to rebook three times due to COVID
The cost had gone up by over £200 but it was not worth the stay
Food and drink on site was also poor quality and very expensive we ate at the pub and the garden grill we were very disappointed at both venues we have been to Bluestone 5 times before COVID but will not be returning
They are pricing the normal family out of reach for a short break
Amazing
Had a fantastic holiday at bluestone back in autumn 2020 , staff are absolutely Incredible, funny, welcoming and happy to help , lodge was spotless and all activities and facilities where fantastic , can't wait to return !
Fantastic
Just returned from a break here. Absolutely brilliant. Can not fault it. All measures were fantastic.
Staff were brilliant.
Food was great.
