Big Lots is a Big No for me.

I have shopped at the Big Lots store in North Hollywood, CA many times. They have told me in the store that they cannot find my account or rewards information in the computer when I am there. That still is no excuse for the online purchase frustration I always experience. I can order from Target, Walmart and other stores and I do not have these problems like Big Lots. Most of the time after I make the effort to order online, many of my purchases are later cancelled. Why isn't someone monitoring the inventory? Why should I keep shopping at Big Lots? I was given a case number and promised that someone would contact me about not receiving rewards coupon credit for my purchases and why the items are never in stock after I order them, but they never did. It is obvious that they do not respect or value their customers.

🖐 Hi five to Taylor the Furniture Manager in Muskogee

I want to thank Taylor the furniture dept. Manager at Muskogee biglots. We had purchased a sectional in their furniture dept. When we got it home there was definately some challenges. The fabric did not wear well at all and we had only had it maybe 2 months. Taylor was right on it for us offering differant solutions concerning our issues. We rude serviceputchased a wood burning fireplace…

We putchased a wood burning fireplace from the west Seneca location that was marked 75percrnt off. We went to the Hamburg location to purchase another one and they were not on sale and the assistant manager Sam treated us like trash and told us nope go to west Seneca then cause they screwed up and persisted to treat us like garbage . When I asked for the district managers name who's name happens to be Peter she told us yeah I'm not giving you his number and said again go to west Seneca then. Wow talk about rude. I called corporate and filed a complaint and we as told that Peter would be in touch with me right away and that was hours ago. I will never sho ok at the Hamburg location again. They are extremely rude there and the store is nasty dirty

Check out online sucks

I like some of their items, a store near us closed several years ago so I checked their online items and tried at least 10 times to order online. Continually it would not take the order, indicated zip code problem, etc. VERY frustrating..I wouldn't order anything from them now if it was free!!! Fix the stupid system!!!!

Es una compañía que por mi experiencia con costumer services no la recomendaría a nadie, poco profesionales y si tratas de cerrar una cuenta con ellos pagando en full el balance te quieren cobrar un dinero extra, además de la perdida de tiempo que te dejan en línea alegando problemas con sus computadoras, en fin un desastre total, yo pienso demandar si se les ocurre cobrar algo extra además que los voy a reportar con servicio al cliente nacional.

Placed an order online and paid extra for same day delivery and I spent more than $2000 and then I was waiting for delivery and when I finally got through to customer service because there's no sign of any coming order, and after checking they said there's will be nothing due to the system timed out upon placing the order and they took my money $2000+ for just pre-authorization for the god sake this shop is so sick. Their agent also ended the online chat service while I still didn't finish my conversation yet. And here I am after been waiting more than 2weeks for full refund but still no sign. Please do yourself a favor just run away from this sick shop.

Placed online order and received email order is ready for p/u. ONE MINUTE LATER - another email sent - “ORDER CANCELED”. What??? How is this possible? No attempts by BL to correct their error. So I called customer service. 30mins later, Gisselle has another order set up for another location. Great! But 24hrs later the 2nd order is canceled too! So I drive 30mins to a BL location that has 47 available!!! When I arrive none are available! How completely inept and incompetent can this company be??? I called Gisselle at customer service again and ask to speak to a supervisor. She refused. I asked a total of 7x to speak to a manager. Each time she refused. How does this company stay in business? You’ve lost a customer and I will broadcast this message to friends, family, and everyone I know. Big Lots is THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!

I received a couch with a 12-inch slash…

I received a couch with a 12-inch slash in it. The delivery guy reported it immediately and Big Lots was supposed to get back with me. I waited over a week and since then, I have sent 13 emails and have made at least 10 calls. I finally got through and have another problem with a $100 discount code not credited. I am now entering 97 minutes on hold after being told that it is too late (literally minutes after transaction) via chat. I’m afraid I won’t be shopping at Big Lots anymore.

Bad quality control, Terrible delivery

In person the stores are OK for non-food items. As long as you inspect what you buy and make sure it is not damaged or stained, you can find some decent bargains. I have gotten decent headsets and charger cords from there, for example.

For food items: buyer beware. Keep an eye out for items past their sell by dates. They don't always get pulled from shelves when out of date!

Do not bother with the online store. I tried to order some non-perishable groceries. They took almost two days to ready the shipment despite my selecting "next day" and ordering early enough for them to have plenty of time to set the order up. From there, only two items out of an order containing around 20 items were ever delivered. Five items were cancelled due to being out of stock. The rest were prepared by the store but never delivered. Almost a week later they were cancelled as well. And yes, I was still charged a delivery fee for this.

WAY overpriced

I had not been in a Big Lots in years but went today because it was next to another store where I planned to shop. I was shocked at the prices: comparable to national chain grocery stores when they don't have sales. Absolutely nothing special.
However, I did find a couple of items to buy mainly so it wasn't a completely wasted trip. Had the cash in hand ($20) and then went to check out. There was a customer in front of me with a lot of stuff (and she and I may have been the only customers in the store) and someone checking her out. There were two employees behind the desk chatting to each other--and who completely ignored me. After a couple of minutes, I decided it was not worth the wait to spend money on items I could live without.
So, to those two guys behind the counter: thanks, you saved me $20.
I note that a lot of negative reviews for Big Lots on this and other sites deal with furniture--hundreds of dollars worth. Frankly, I'm not sure that Big Lots would have been my first choice for that type of purchase, but I sympathize with the amount of money involved in some of these nightmare experiences.
Mine was a simple experience but buyer beware: the prices are just not worth it. Go to a dollar store, Walmart, etc.

Crooks

I’m a Big Lots customer for more than 20 years and also Big Lots credit card holder. Today 6/27/2022 I went to store #5156 in Kissimmee, Florida to purchase some patio furniture and At the store I was informed that they did not have it on stock. From where I live is about a 32 mile drive one way and 64 miles round trip. I told my wife oh well let’s get something’s so we purchase cookies , chips and some women nail accessories. We got home and to my surprise the Archway soft Oatmeal Raisin Cookies were expired. I called the store promptly on to talk to the manager Melisa who was belligerent. I decided to call the corporate office and report the experience at (866)244-6803 which was a waste of time over an hour on the phone and no one picks up the telephone. I called their corporate office at (614)278-6800 which is just another number to transfer you to the telephone no one answers (866)244-5687. Big Lots has no integrity and it is full of crooks. Stay away from them . I lost $3.29 and about 2 gallons of gasoline. Big Lots lost an old faithful customer.

First of all I ordered a couch & love…

First of all I ordered a couch & love seat from the griffin store. Paid for it & for delivery. Then after 5 hours get a call from a very unprofessional, rude, idiot lady from the griffin store saying the love seat is damaged & it’s beyond repair. So she is going to refund me my money back. That she thinks there is one in stockbridge, ga. But she can’t call or look on computer to look. Just keep saying do you want couch ir not I have stuff to do!!! I was trying to explain to my husband what was going on as she is screaming this!! She was just like I don’t know, I don’t know how it works, I don’t know what we have!! Do you want couch!!! The last nky reason I even gave this dumb girl & company my money is we had already gotten rid of our old couch & love seat because they said it was in stock & gonna be delivered & we needed something to sit on. Mainly my day gs, but damn it’s not worthy for my dogs either!!! She is incompetent. She said That I will have to go on web site & call to see if they have it.! Called stockbridge & yes they have it in stock, told them please hold & I will pay for it on line & have it delivered from the same guy that is going to deliver coach. Oh but you have to pay another delivery fee & the love seat is higher to be delivered. Well thank k, so I order & paid for it.the coach was delivered. Nice couch I really liked it. But the arm in the left side is broke me!!!!! Waited & waited from love seat to be delivered. Never heard anything from no one. Husband checked email & oh guess what it was canceled no reason!!! We waited for 4 hours & the idiot could not even let you know what is going n!!
I will NEVER order anything from these incompetent 🥧 me at these big lit stores very rude & do not care about you or there jobs! Unprofessional & will tell you to go to hell in a nut shell. Never again! No wonder why they are called big lots…. trailer trash employees & discounted pieces of crap furniture, 2nds just like their employees. Need employees that care & try to help. Not just say I don’t know, you do it… & I don’t care!! Worst customer service & just pure idiot employees!!! 2 orders & they still couldn’t get it right!!

I shop at the Burbank store on 8100 s…

I shop at the Burbank store on 8100 s Cicero Ave and the people associates are great.....Frances the manager was a great help to my problem today....I have been going to Big Lots forever. On June 11th and 12th they were great as well they assisted me in finding my bed and also bought the motion bedframe....prices are so reasonable and it is a one stop shop. I cant remember the young mans assistance on the 12th but he was the most knowledgeable and professional and helped soo much. I am soo sorry that I dont remember his name cuz he was awesome as well. Thank you Big Lots!!

The delivery associate.

My aunt and I went to the Big Lots in Woodbridge NJ on Saturday and I bought her a new recliner..the associate helped me with the transaction and even gave me the delivery associates number to talk to him about delivering my aunts chair. He was extremely polite and told me the chair would be at my aunts house on Sunday. Well the delivery associates name is Dalum and he and another associate brought the chair upstairs and even put it together for my aunt and brought down the old one down stairs and even got rid of the cardboard box for us Dalum and his associate were just super super nice we gave them a very nice tip. They sure did deserved it. I highly recommend asking for Dalum who works at the store for any delivery of furniture u purchase It was a very good experience. Will definitely shop there again in the future.

Big Lots>>> Big Rip Off..

I have shopped at Big Lots for years, but I have noticed a practice that is pretty deceiving lately. We have gone through a few managers and it seemed to run pretty good. The regular stuff that is sold there all the time seems to have gone way up in price, and they can't blame it on the supply chain. I purchased 3 bags of Frito Lays scoops, that was at the end of the aisle where all the chips and other munchies are. It read 3 for $6. There was no mention on the sign, other than grab them while there's still some left. I got home and when I checked my receipt, I noticed that I was charged the full price for all 3 bags>> $4.49 a whack. I called the store and they told me it was just for the Lays potato chips, which was on the top shelf. I did notice 1 bag of chips while I was looking at the variety of things on each shelf. I think this is pretty low and it was not labeled like that. The girl at the checkout had told me it was just the Lays products, so I figured that the Frito scoops was part of that deal. They had other munchies on those shelves. I have noticed in the last year that some of their sales are mixed in with regular priced merchandise also. I have noticed also that I can get a lot of these munchies and some other their merchandise much cheaper at other stores. Their so called rewards program is a big ole rip off too, cause we have to buy a certain amount before we get any kind of discount. I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on. They can keep their higher priced items all to themselves.

Absolute worst company I have dealt…

Absolute worst company I have dealt with. Only delivered half my order so called delivery company who said I need to call store and store said to call customer service. After over two hours on phone they just keep transferring you to someone else. Don't buy from them.
