I purchased a lifetime subscription to a suite of Audio/Video/Photo software about a year ago. I recently upgraded my PC and in an attempt to transfer those apps to that new PC, my old drive became corrupted and could not transfer them. I reached out to the software provider and was told they COULD NOT ASSIST in recovering the apps and would have to purchase a new subscription. I rate that as a BIG ZERO for customer support.

I bought a "lifetime" license for AVS4YOU in 2009. I have gone through a computer replacement cycle at least four times. I have always been able to install AVS4YOU on each new computer. Now I'm being told that the license was only for the original computer. That has not been my previous experience and an absurd interpretation of "lifetime" used by no other software vendors whose software I have lifetime licenses for. Supposedly, this has always been in the EULA probably buried on the fifth screen of fine print.

So, it's goodbye AVS4YOU. It's been nice knowing you.

I always considered AVS4YOU as OK software on the mediocre side with issues with each version update. There certainly are better alternatives with sensible lifetime license policy.

Ive been using this software for 16 years. When I first began, it was 29 dollars for an unlimited subscription.
I used this software on my Dell 2011 PC until a week ago, when I got a brand new HP Laptop that is tailor made for video editing- faster, more storage, can handle the workload. So, I downloaded AVS into my new computer and put in my activation key: subscription expired, it tells me. Fair enough, I got 16 years out of 30 bucks. So I re-purchase. Now its 50 bucks for an unlimited subscription. Also fair.
Except. Now the software sucks. It crashes if you do more than 4 overlays. It crashes while its caching video.
I lost a video due to this crashing. I worked on it for 18 hours. Couldn't recover it; it ended up being corrupted because of the crash.
Ive been loyal to this software because it's easy to use. But if you're going to make me pay almost double for it, can you just make it not suck?
I'm on the verge of demanding my money back. I'm frankly insulted that AVS jumped on the AI bandwagon, and, surprise, their software seems to be suffering for it . Such a disappointment. I certainly wont ever recommend this software again. I'm trying to avoid the great Adobe migration, but it feels like y'all are pushing me straight into their arms. Do better, AVS.

Die Software an sich ist ganz zufrieden stellend. Aber der Support dieser Firma existiert praktisch nicht. Zwar wird man darauf hingewiesen, dass man sich bei eventuellen Problemen an den Support wenden kann, dieser antwortet aber auch auf wiederholte Fragen nicht. Einfach gar nichts. Bei mir funktioniert der Lizenzschlüssel nicht mehr, also muss ich mich wohl bei der Konkurrenz umsehen. Bei Problemen interessiert sich niemand mehr für einen, dafür bekomme ich weiterhin laufend Werbung um weitere Software zu kaufen.

nun, nach einer Woche, erfahre ich hier über Trustpilo. dass mir geantwortet wurde. Aber nicht per E-Mail. wie erwartet, sondern angeblich auf mein Kundenkonto, auf das ich aber auch keinen Zugriff habe. Die Funktion, Passwort erneuern mit meiner E-mail-Adresse funktioniert nicht. Ständig wird zwar angezeigt, dass neues Passwort an meine E-mail-Adresse verschickt wurde. Es kam aber nier etwas an, auch ist nichts im Spam gelandet.
Schon sehr seltsames Verhalten gegenüber dem Kunden, auf eine E-Mail nicht zu antworten, sondern die angebliche Hilfe auf eine Seite zu stellen, auf die man keinen Zugriff hat und nicht mal darüber per E-Mail zu informieren. Gäbe es nicht Trustpilot, wüßte ich davon rein gar nichts!
Ich schätze mal, dass das Versteckspiel so weitergeht unmd werde berichten.

Die angeblich "lebenslange" Lizenz gilt nur, bis sich die Hardware ändert. Das ist (aus meiner Sicht) irreführende Werbung. Dann kamen auch noch Softwareprobleme hinzu. Die Krönung war dann, dass ich nach 6 Jahren eine E-Mail erhalte, ich hätte vor 6 Jahren einen Abo-Vertrag abgeschlossen, solle jetzt (nach 6 Jahren) das Produkt runterlanden und müsse nun bezahlen (angeblich vom Einzugsdienst 2checkout , der mit AVS zusammen arbeitet). Ich habe nie einen Abo-Vertrag abgeschlossen. Abgesehen davon ist die Software nach meiner Meinung schlecht, ich habe schon seit vielen Jahren das Konkurrenzprodukt (auch wenn es teurer ist). Sehr sonderbare Firma.

Ho una licenza pagata a vita e non la posso usare perchè ho cambiato il computer.
Per me è una truffa, non si può pagare tutti questi soldi per una licenza che non si può usare.
Non posso cambiare il computer perchè questi signori non mi fanno usare il programma, CHE SHIFO LO SCONSIGLIO VIVAMENTE A TUTTI, ci sono altri programmi migliori

Ich habe ebenfalls eine Lizenz und zweimal verreckte Computer. Die Lizenz soll nicht mehr gültig sein. Von diesem Unternehmen ist sehr stark abzuraten. Andere Unternehmen schaffen es wenn man die Lizenz von einem neuen Computer anmeldet automatisch den vorgehenden Computer zu deaktivieren. Scheinbar sind hier unfähige Programmierer am Werk die solch ein Verfahren nicht entwickeln können. Außerdem bezweifele ich wenn es zu einem Verfahren käme was sich nicht lohnt die Lizenz Bedingungen der rechtlichen Situation nicht stand halten. Ich glaube jeder amerikanische Anwalt würde sich auf ein solches Verfahren freuen. Oder anders gesagt der Lizenzverkauf ist so schleppend, dass man auf sowas zurückgreifen muss. Sonst verdient man nichts mehr daran. Die Programme sind übrigens mittlerweile überaltert und funktionieren nicht so schnell wie vergleichbare Produkte
