Our trip to Machu Pichu was magical. Ronaldo was a fantastic guide. He was so knowledgeable about history and facts. We did the two day short Inca tour with Alpaca Expeditions. This was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend.

Alpaca expeditions are generally very well organsied and the communication is great! But what made my trip to Machu picchu even better was our guide Ronaldino who eas absolutely fabulous with his knowledge, patience and experience! He helped me in the hardest parts by motivating and encouraging me and stayed patient and didn't rush me. Thanks again... great memories for life! 🥰

Our tour guide Ronaldino was amazing. The pace for 2 day trek was just perfect. He was very helpful and above all very knowledgeable and expressed the history so fluently. His English as well as sense of humour was fantastic. My wife and I had an amazing time and experience of a life time. Will not forget such an amazing holiday. It was very well organised and again thanks to Ronaldino everything was explained so well.

This hike was a tough but amazing experience and I would reccomend it to all of my friends! Ronaldino was an amazing and knowledgeable tour guide and the staff at alpaca is truly amazing in all that they do for their customers! I continue to be impressed by their hard work and dedication. This is a memory I will cherish forever!

We did the 4day/3night Ausangate to Rainbow mountain trek + Machu Picchu. Our Alpaca team was wonderful and friendly. Thank you to our chefs Octavio and Felix, our horseman Agripino, and our amazing guide Henrry! They made sure we were well fed (so much delicious food and a whole freshly baked cake), safe, and having fun the whole trek :)

The people giving the tour made the experience great. Octavio and Felix, chef and assistant chef cooked amazing food and took great care of us, while working together with the horseman in harmony. It was inspiring to see such great teamwork. Henry was also an excellent guide, making sure we had an unforgettable experience by giving us all the information, organizing us and having fun with us. My only issue was from the administrative side, where there was confusion with bookings and our briefing was done by another guide who didn’t seem to know about the trek.

I couldn’t have asked for a better group than our guide Henrry, chef Octavio and assistant chef Felix. Their positive energy, passion, and supportive attitude were fantastic. Henrry was patient and very knowledgeable about the route, history, and culture. I would recommend Alpaca Expeditions and the Ausangate trek, it was absolutely beautiful.

Our guides Saul G and Roger did an amazing job and were very accommodating and encouraging throughout. We had a great time doing the Inca Trail and learned a lot about the history, biological landscape and architecture of Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu. Would highly recommend!

We recently completed four single-day tours plus a 2-day Inca Trail/Machu Picchu trek with Alpaca Expeditions, and the experience far exceeded our expectations!
Our two guides, Jamie and Marcela, were outstanding—extremely knowledgeable, incredibly helpful, and genuinely fun to be around. They made every moment enjoyable and educational.

As a couple aged 66 and 68, we found the trekking challenging at times, but both guides provided tremendous support with pacing advice, encouragement, and practical assistance whenever needed. Their patience and expertise made it all manageable and rewarding.

All the tours featured interesting, well-balanced itineraries with a great mix of walks, historical sites, and cultural insights. Everything ran smoothly, thanks to Alpaca Expeditions' clear expertise in handling Peru's tourism logistics—they're flexible, responsive, and their infrastructure is obviously well-tested and reliable.
If we were to do it again, we'd probably build in a rest day or two for recovery but that's our only minor suggestion.

We’ll be enthusiastically recommending Alpaca Expeditions to all our friends and family. If you're considering a trip to Peru, especially the Inca Trail or Machu Picchu, look no further—this company delivers!

The whole experience was amazing- the organization, food, guidelines, and of course incredible views. But what made it truly special was the team! Hardworking, knowledgeable, and so friendly. Thank you Javi and Jean Carlo!

The hike was a beautiful and life changing experience for me that I probably wouldn’t have been able to finish without Javi and Jean Carlos being there for me step by step. They provided knowledgeable insight of the Inca culture and environment on the trail. Easily the best travel experience I’ve had in years. Thank you guys for an awesome four days.

This was my first time doing a multi day hike like this and I'm glad I booked it with Alpaca Expeditions. They handle the logistics including food, tents, etc., provide a packing list, and all in all made it a very smooth experience. Our guides Javi and Jean Carlos were 10/10! I found the hike to be challenging in parts but their positive attitude and sense of humor helped keep me going to the end. Highly recommended!

Our tour guide was Juan Miranda, and he was amazing! Great history at every site, as well as connections to the symbolism and religion! He was very kind and accommodating with us. We have someone in our group get altitude sickness and he went out of his way to make sure they were cared for. Highly recommended!!

Our group had an outstanding day with our very knowledgeable guide Juan. Not only did he pass along his deep knowledge of the various sites we visited but made the bus trip enjoyable with his many stories about the ancient cultures and peoples of the Andes. I would highly recommend Alpaca Expeditions and Juan to anyone heading to Cusco and in need of a guide.

Fantastic 4 day Inca trail hike with Alpaca Expeditions. Our guide Romario was extremely knowledgeable and the porters did an amazing job setting up camp before we arrived each day.
The food on the trek was amazing - literally the best guacamole I've ever had! Our chef also baked a birthday cake for one of the team.
Equipment was of top quality too with a very warm sleeping bag and Thermarest mattresses.

We did the 4-day Inca trail trek to Machu Picchu and were not impressed with Alpaca. There were western toilets at the camps that the porters completely took over and left in a disgusting state so the 12 clients had 1 portaloo to use between them. Some of the group were very slow and we had to wait hours regularly to wait for them, and even though the 2 guides could have split the group to avoid it they did not. On one day our waiting time was 4 hours!! Then finally on the last night of the trip our main guide informed us of the tip expectations and after tipping the chef, the 2nd in command and the porters he expected a further $20 tip per client per day, equating almost $1,000 tip for himself on top of his salary. This caused such upset amongst the group many didn't go to dinner on the last night or went to bed early......shocking!

Outstanding Expedition! Top notch service with Alpaca Expeditions! We did the four day Trek on the Inca Trail. Our great Guides - Rosel, Carlos, and Aldair took great care of us. The Porters were very friendly and worked incredibly hard. And the Chefs provided incredible food! Really - what they could prepare on the trail was amazing. Coffee or tea in your tent to start your day, clean and comfortable tents and equipment, great history lessons at each site, and a smooth running and well organized team made for a fantastic four days on the trail!
