Most big online companies offer free returns. £5 per order to return :-( I didn't see this when I placed my order. I think they need to make it much more clear. Looking at the reviews there are lots of other people who also didn't see it. My online hcat with 'Jessica' i ncustomer care was not helpful and she clearly hadn't read my quetsion properly. It was like going round in circles and a frustrating experience. I had 3 orders as some items wher enot avialable in my size unti after i had alredy placed my order.. So its costing me £15 to send back some of the items. She said I could not send them back all in one package. they hae to be separate at £5 per order.

I read the bad reviews before ordering and was dubious, but thought I'd try - maybe my experience would be different. Sadly not, after ordering a few hundred £s of products they cancelled my order citing that I had broken the terms of sale. I emailed asking what specifically I had done wrong and didn't get a straight answer. I saw a few other people on here had a similar experience so it seems to be a widespread issue. I am disappointed as I love their jeans and was excited to get a few more pairs.

I did give them an extra star because their customer service team got back to me very quickly, but not with a useful resolution. Hopefully they refund me soon.

All in all, badly set up online shopping experience, though they do have prompt and nice customer service. If they fixed the issues mentioned on here (the return fee is also extortionate but I made my peace with it) I would regularly shop with them, but until then I wont shop directly with them again.

If you are thinking about it, I would recommend either going directly to one of their shops if you can, or ordering through a third party seller.

Awful in general. I really loved the quality of the clothes (not see-through and comfortable) even though the prices are a bit steep. However here comes the problems:
1. There is a £5 delivery fee and £5 fee to return?? This is robbery, most online store provide free returns!
2. Can't even shop in-stores if I want to avoid the return fee cause almost 50% of the items are 'online exclusives'
3. Very slow delivery, takes at least a week to arrive
4. The website takes ages to load, I even used different computers with different wifi still took ages.

Another issue that I've experienced is my items were 'returned to sender' by RoyalMail cause of invalid address. I selected the address that popped up at checkout when you enter your postcode, and apparently its invalid! Cant even reorder cause most of it is out of stock!

Awful customer service!!! First time ordering online from them and had to return some of the items. My return has arrived over a week ago but haven’t received my refund. I got in contact with customer service only to be told that because I used the postage label in the package it takes longer to be delivered. When I said that I’ve tracked it online and it states otherwise, She then proceeded to say “oh! It doesn’t show that it’s been delivered on my side and it takes 21 days to be processed anyway.”
Not happy at all and won’t be ordering from them again! Also the £5 return fee is a total rip off.

So the only thing I learned from my visit to the Ashford Outlet was which type of person would likely be a shop lifter, what they’d look like, wear, sound like and target. This was because two staff members were talking about it loudly outside of the changing rooms, it was not impressive to hear that race is part of the shop lifting criteria. Would have loved to purchase more than the two shirts I did but no staff were serving customers on the shop floor and the person on the till was very focused on getting my email address and couldn’t leave his post to help. American stores are so so much better.

Beautifully designed clothing. Have returned/exchange items a few times and never have any issues with refund. Refund is processed as soon as return label is scanned by the post office. There is a £5 return fee but that is stated clearly on website. Shipping is free over £75 so that’s not an issue. Exchanges are free of charge. Reward scheme is quite generous so make sure to sign up for it. My only gripe is that shipping is slow.

Nice clothing, and quick shipping but disappointed returns are not free. They provide you a Royal Mail return label but deduct £5 from your return total. Bit disappointing for a large company like this.

Apparently the order breached their terms & conditions. I called and advisor said the delivery address and billing address didn’t match….I had opted to collect from their suggested local post office and this breaches their terms?! Was told account now suspended and someone would contact me which they didn’t. Called again, was told I would be emailed next day…wasn’t. Terrible customer service. How can they refuse an order under their own click & collect system? Won’t bother again it’s just my daughter had her heart set on a top for a party 😔

Illegal returns policy. Ordered a jacket which was FAULTY. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 makes it an implied term of the contract that goods be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. Any returns policy that says I have to cover the cost of returning items must only relate to the situation where I change my mind about the item ordered and not where there is a problem with the item. However, they still charge £5 to return faulty items.

Slow delivery but excellent clothing and super fast refunds! I have placed many orders with A&F over last few months. The clothes are great for casual wear and WFH - well priced and excellent quality. The outerwear is particularly good. The loyalty scheme is very rewarding too. Only qualm I have is that delivery can take a while (5-10 days) which is odd as orders are shipped from within UK using 24 hour tracked service. I get notifications within a day or two that my order has been dispatched but then Royal Mail tracking states that they are waiting for the parcel from the retailer and that status can stick for several days. Anyway, worth the wait most of the time and on a few occasions when I have returned items, refunds are processed in lightening fast times! Return fee is £5 but as the initial postage is free, it doesn’t stick in my throat too much. Overall, very happy and would highly recommend. Just need to speed up the dispatch process.....

I order from them quite often. The customer service is excellent, I had an issue with the quality of one item, a pair of joggers.

After owning them for a month I noticed a hole. Once I contacted customer service they immediately sent me out a new pair, no hassle at all. You'd love to see it!

Fine untill you need to return. I wanted to process an exchange as these are free but the return label function on their website did not work. Customer services couldn't simply send me a label either? I was then told to refund this at my nearest once stores reopen? Your nearest store is central London and I live in Hertfordshire! I think this is unfair as my only options then were to refund paying £5 or going to London paying train fees? Not my fault if there is a problem on your website. Shouldn't be advising this to customers in my opinion. Only online retailer I have had issues with in returning.

I've had such a great experience with A&F - I bought a few items in December and was so pleased with the quality of fabrics, colours and how they looked. Usually, buying online can be disappointing but with A&F it was the opposite - everything looked better than online!
I then bought several items in January after such a positive experience - again, I was so pleased with most of my items. I returned two tops and was pleasantly surprised to find the refund in my account three days later. Strangely, a top I returned in December took longer than the January returns but have had such a great experience with them, I'm convinced I'll be a customer forever.
I also introduced my sister to the brand who's also become a huge fan - I would highly recommend!

I have left the website very confused and disappointed after the last experience that I had with Abercrombie & Fitch. The item that I tried to buy was on sale and after I checked out with PayPal I have realised that the transaction is waiting for "Authorisation". Checking on Google what exactly PayPal Authorisation means, I realised that basically either Abercrombie & Fitch doesn't have the item anymore or there is s technical problem with the website which was showing the item in stock. The second thing, which is also important for me as a buyer, I just realised that they have changed the delivery terms in just a few hours, meaning that checking the website in the afternoon they were saying free shipping of orders over £50 and after a few hours when I have decided to place an order the price of orders qualifying for free shipping was over £75. Very disappointed considering that my order is still under "Authorisation" process and probably after 30 days they will say that they are sorry but the item is not going to be back on stock, even if on the website it was showing as being in their stock. This is on short my experience with Abercrombie. First and last one.

I couldn't get my refund from them. I sent them countless email but I couldn't receive my refund. I will report my bank as well. Everyone needs to be more careful before buying anything from them. Seriously it's seems fraud....

I’d been eyeing up a lush 3 in 1 parker for ages. Reduced from £320 to £139.99, I had to buy! I returned a small and reordered in large. LOVE IT! Seemingly great quality and looks amazing.
They weren’t obvious about a £5 fee to return so I kindly asked the online team to waive the £5 fee as I had reordered in a different size. They did this and now I have a coat that fits perfectly!! Sizes come up small - I’m usually a 10-12 and the large is a perfect fit!

Disgusted. Ordered their waterproof boots that let in water on the first day. Sending mails for refund and getting nowhere. They have my money and the boots. Avoid

Ordered various items for Christmas in November. All arrived in good time with great communications providing tracking details and arrival date. Great service.
