Walker Slater was founded in the Scottish Highland town of Laggan, 1989. A year later we opened our first store in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town—the picturesque Victoria Street. Our once small shop has grown gradually, flourishing into a thriving menswear flagship. Upon this journey we tried out a rail of ladies garments, which gradually became a whole section and later a dedicated store! At Walker Slater, we take the traditional and breathe new life into it. Our main inspiration is our heritage and Scotland’s natural beauty. At the core of our collections is tweed; from the hardest wearing Harris Tweed to the softest blend of cashmere wool. Alongside it we use a selection of fine materials such as lambswool, silk and linen to create traditional clothing with a modern edge. We believe in quality, timeless clothing and work hard to develop looks that are beautiful and functional. Our hand-picked selection of complementary accessories from British and European manufacturers are sold in every store, just in case you need that finishing touch.

For the love of a heathered herringbone weave
The Walker Slater website is attractive and easy to navigate. While initially overlooked, the available discount was promptly applied, earning Walker Slater my respect for its integrity. The Harris tweed cap and jacket I ordered were delivered promptly. On opening the delivered package, the high quality of the items I ordered was immediately apparent and their fit was perfect. I paid the U.S. tariff imposed on these imported items, angered by the absurd political [il]logic that its imposition would provide an incentive for an American garment manufacturer to compete with hand-made Harris tweed goods woven in only one place in the world.

This was my second order and I am sure not the last one. The quality is excellent, it’s easy to buy from Sweden with upfront Swedish VAT and duties at checkout. I bought a pair of tweed shorts and the fabric is fantastic.

The staff in Covent Garden are fantastic, Laura who served me and took measurements is amazing. Went back a week later for collection and the suit was absolutely perfect.
She was extremely friendly, polite and very helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending her if your looking for an amazing Tweed suit. Would definitely use again.

Excellent service & clothing
After my wife and me bought some vests & jackets on our holiday trip through Scotland I decided to get another tweed jacket online.
The parcel arrived in Gernsny within two days, and the jacket is a perfect mix of modern style and traditional materials, nicely crafted.
