I signed up for the trial box following seeing an ad on Facebook. I didn't get a confirmation email which concerned me some. I then found this page and was horrified. Fearing the worst I emailed viva cats to cancel immediately. Not fifteen minutes later I had a response confirming cancellation. Today my initial box arrived as promised. Cats seem to like it. Possibly a little expensive but very convenient... Thinking of resubscribing!

I signed up in May 2020 and was already charged for the second box before the first had even arrived. When the first box did finally arrive, it was clearly just a box of random leftovers and bore no resemblance at all to the advertised 'Birthday Box.' I emailed them to query this and was told the the box is "a surprise-based subscription and... we cannot guarantee that they match with the exact articles which are reflected on the leaflet." So basically they falsely advertise a box and don't send you even one of the things you expect to receive.

Edit: Vivacats reported this review and tried to have it taken down but after providing proof of this to Trustpilot, the review stands. Please avoid this company!

Pongo una estrella porque no puedo poner cero.
Pedí una caja por 5€ que ví en una promoción y automáticamente quedé subscrita a su servicio mensual sin saberlo. Al no recibir ningún correo de confirmación y comprobar que mi correo no estaba asociada a ninguna cuenta me olvidé del tema. La caja de 5€ llegó (Su valor real en tienda serían 10€ máximo, las cosas que entran son bastante cutres) y el día 1 del mes siguiente me cobraron 19'90€. Tras reclamar por Instagram (del cual me bloquearon) y por correo electrónico me dan a entender que no pueden cancelarlo y que no me devuelven el dinero. Yo les expliqué que a mi no se me había informado y que no podía acceder a mi cuenta para cancelar la subscripción (tuve que pedirles hasta 4 veces que me lo cancelaran hasta que lo conseguí). Pero los 19'90€ decían que no me los podían devolver así que al final tuve que llamar al banco y la única solución que me dieron fue cancelar la tarjeta para evitar futuros cobros y reclamar la devolución del dinero (aunque no me lo aseguraban) . Eso he hecho y he conseguido el dinero de vuelta, así que si os pasó lo mismo os ánimo a que hagáis lo que yo hice, es un coñazo pero al menos así no se aprovechan de la gente.

I must admit I was first worried about this as I was expecting the box on the 29th and it wasn’t here, but customer service was exceptional with helping me track down my box. Any way the box turned up today and lots of tasty treats for my cat as well as some fun filled toys, my cats usually enjoy boxes alone but with this box my cats were happy and intrigued with what was inside and they looked so happy when they realised it was a box for them, I will definitely be subscribing.

I was really looking forward to receive my box. Ordered and paid for my first "trial box" on the 2nd of May. Over a month later, I haven't received anything at all! However, I was charged full price for the next box. I did contacted customer service, they simply cancelled my subscription but won't refund me, or tell me where my first box actually is! Not worth the stress. Unclear website, awful customer service. Don't bother.

Would definately reccomend this company.
Weve just recieved the birthday box and my cats are absolutely loving the treats and the milk went down a treat too

Es la primera cajita y a mi gatito le ha gustado mucho, los snacks y los juguetes, estoy contenta de que a mi gato sea feliz con su cajita mensual! Me suscribí a finales de mayo y me llegó ayer 2 de junio. Le pongo 4 estrellas porque la caja no venía con el precinto bien cerrado pero estaba completa.

La verdad estoy encantada con el servicio de vivacats, mis gatitos son inmensamente felices cada vez que reciben su cajita, y eso a mi me llena el corazón de felicidad, cada juguetito, cada comidita son aceptados, amados y devorados con amor, gracias infinitas vivacats ❤️😻

A mi gata le encantó todo lo que vino en la caja, no sabe ni que juguete elegir.

I purchased a box from this company for £4.99 on the 4th May 2020. On the 26th May 2020 a further payment of £19.90 was taken from my payment card, but I had not received any boxes. I contacted the company via email demanding an explanation of why they had taken additional payments and they responded 3-minutes later with a template email claiming that I had signed up for a subscription and the first box was a “trial” box. At no point during the checkout process was it made clear that I was signing up for a subscription service, and even more shameful is the “cancellation deadline” is the 26th of each month but the real kicker and proof of their scamming ways is the “trial” box is only sent out once they have taken your first subscription payment.

The terms and conditions they claim bind you to an agreement is nothing short of trash, and they are clearly copying and pasting formats across various brands. The contents of the box is worth no more than £7 (all available via online retailers) yet they are charging £19.90 a month. The latest box for
June came with 6 items, one available widely for 29p!

They delete comments off Facebook when you criticise their product instead of engaging in conversation and their recommendations are filled with suspicious positive reviews, which all state the “amazing” value for money yet when you highlight that the contents can be bought for 36% of the value of what they charge, they delete it.

They use template emails in response to complaints about subscriptions with pre-written content, my initial complaint email was responded to within 3 minutes, so they must be recieving a high volume of complaints for them to have to generate a template email.

Avoid at all costs!

Edit: they reported this review TWICE (and it appears every other negative review on TrustPilot) despite it being verified with TrustPilot, as a breach of guidelines because it goes against their company line and calls them out for the rubbish they are selling and the incredibly difficult and sometimes shady business practices they employ.

La recibí hoy y a mis gatos les encantaron los juguetes, se volvieron locos jugando con ellos. Más tarde les daré los snacks y seguro que les gusta. Ya quiero recibir la próxima caja!!

Hasta ahora todos los pedidos me han llegado bien y siempre con productos diferentes así, es una sorpresa cada mes y a mis dos gatas les gusta, sobretodo a la peque que disfruta hasta con la caja en si. Habrá cositas que no sean de su gusto pero, en general todo genial!

Absolutely awful experience. Currently scammed me out of £40, here's a timeline:

1. ~19th April purchase £5 trial box.
2. 29th April told my £5 trial box is unavailable, offered a refund. I accept.
3. 29th April told I will be charged for May. I reply asking to cancel my plan.
4. 20th May chase Vivacats, they tell me my initial £5 is refunded. I ask about the unwanted full price box.
5. 22nd May continue to try and cancel. Told box is on it's way.
6. 1st June charged for ANOTHER box. Still received no box, still impossible to unsubscribe.

In short, they will completely ignore you when you ask for a refund, don't let you unsubscribe, and don't even seem to send out any boxes.

I see no evidence whatsoever that this isn't an intentional scam.

Great experience. My cat loves the contents. He is still playing with his toys. He loves the treats. Thanks Vivacats

Es el primer mes que tenemos a nuestra gatita en casa y hemos querido probar la experiencia de hacerle un regalo subscribiendons a Vivacats y la verdad que estamos encantados tanto nosotros con la rapidez y eficacia como Nebula con sus nuevos juguetitos y las latitas

Acabamos de recibir la primer cajita y mis michis están súper felices, al igual que yo al verlos así. Es una experiencia súper satisfactoria y grata poder disfrutar con ellos de esta forma, y esperamos con ansias la siguiente. Un 10.

Es una maravilla y a mi gata le encanta todo ,lo recomiendo

AVOID THEY ARE SCAMMERS
I’ve contacted bank who are following it up for me but I had paid for trial box 21st April then they took another monthly fee on 26th saying I should have cancelled subscription before that date - how can I do that when I’ve only just paid for April already and not received it! Neither have come at all and they’ve ignored 4 emails, 2 Instagram messages and fb messages and comments. Just seen on here others saying same thing and I haven’t got a dispatched note on my file so assuming it means they were not even sent. I will be looking into reporting to trading standards this week
