Purchased the Unit 1 Aura helmet, photocromatic visor and winter liner through the Kickstarter campaign in early 2023. The communication from Unit 1 has been good, although they "dropped the ball" on the winter liner delivery as it was to be delivered separately (they later fixed the delivery issue). The helmet is made of high quality materials and holds up very well. It is very comfortable to wear and I particularly like the magnetic latch (instead of the typical buckle). The two items that drove me to buy the helmet were the integrated lights and visors. The front/rear lights charge quite fast and last for even the longer rides. A future opportunity would be to include a flashing mode to save on battery for those long days on the saddle. The photocromatic visor attaches/detaches easily to/from the helmet and stays 'put' without any vibrations. In medium to low light conditions, it works perfectly to allow visibility. In sunny conditions (especially during sunrise or sunset), the tint is not adequate to block light coming through the visor and affecting ones visibility. I resorted to carrying my sunglasses to use in those high light conditions. I would suggest purchasing the tinted visor if most of the riding conditions are duing the day in high light environments. As for the winter liner, I am yet to receive it and try it out for the upcoming 2024 winter season. Overall, I am very please with the helmet and would highly recommend it.

Great customer support from the first contact!!
Laura responded to my first inquiry about the availability of the Aura helmet. She was right with me all the way up through that inquiry and onto purchase and then to problem resolution.
After i placed my order, I saw that Unit 1 was offering up to a 20% discount on combinations of products purchased. I contacted Laura about this and she confirmed the discount and promptly refunded me the discount.
When I received the Aura, I had problems with powering on. I reached out to Laura and she immediately responded with instructions on how to turn the helmet on. She did this by sending pictures and a video.
The helmet was delivered on the date promised.
Thank you Unit 1 team for providing me with a great product and customer service.

J'ai reçu le casque de mon épouse avec le "remote signal". Très difficile à faire le paring entre l'application et les 2 devices. Après quelques 2 ou 3 heures, j'ai fini par trouver le moyen de faire le reset correctement. Le problème est le petit bouton sur le casque. Il est si petit et mal fait que le clic ne se fait pas toujours. Alors quand ils demandent de presser 8 fois rapidement pour faire le reset, ça ne se fait pas. Mauvais design de ce bouton. Une fois fait, ça va. MAIS ils n'ont pas de version XL du casque donc mon épouse sera protégée mais pas moi. Il va falloir que j'aille voir du côté des Smiths optics, ils en ont (eux!!) avec crash sensor.

Great products and exactly what a commuter rider needs. Would jhave been a 5 star if not for the rather poor battery life on the turnsignal unit . No indications of battery life visible - it just stops, and way too often so doeasnt get used any more

I can’t say enough good things about Unit 1 and their premium Aura helmet. The high-tech features were what first attracted me to the company, and after my recent accident, I can say that the investment was absolutely worth it. I was in a serious e-bike crash, and my Aura helmet was the first thing to hit the road. Thanks to the helmet, I walked away without even a concussion—it quite literally saved my life!
The Aura helmet boasts fantastic capabilities that make it stand out from other helmets. It has crash a detection feature, and front and rear lights that can be programmed to synchronize with lights on your bike or backpack. It even includes turning signals controlled by a remote mounted on your bike’s handlebars. But most importantly, the helmet is designed with MIPS (multi-directional impact protection system), which helps prevent brain shake during an accident. I can truly say it works!
After the crash, I contacted Unit 1 about a replacement helmet, and their customer service was outstanding. Maria was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to all of my emails. Unit 1 went above and beyond by offering me a discount on a replacement helmet and, despite no longer shipping to New Zealand, they made an exception just for me! They also gave me a discount on shipping, which was beyond generous.
Unit 1’s commitment to its customers is evident in everything they do, from the life-saving quality of their products to the exceptional service they provide. I absolutely love this company and can't wait to hear more about their crash replacement program. I highly recommend Unit 1 to anyone looking for the highest level of protection and cutting-edge features in a helmet.

The devices are of good quality. The aura helmet is certified for high speed e-bike. I had some problem to App which was not compatible with my phone running Android 12. However Laura from the Unit support was very helpful to find a solution. I have now access to all the features.
I would have prefered a rotating visor than the magnetic fixation for the helmet and a stronger fixation for the remote device (it moves slightly when I press it).

I purchased the lights from the website and the purchase process was flagged as suspicious, so I contacted Laura in support and the attention was brilliant. I was able to re-purchase with no problems. A joy that in a few days the lights will arrive for me. Thanks once again!

A great overall set with so many functions.
Me and my partner both got 1, a small and medium. It fits her head really well, as for me can be more painful for long rides as my skull comes out a lot at the back of my head, so I feel more pressure. This is only because of my head shape, not the helmet itself.
The chromatic visor is great, functions really well when sun is out.
The indicating function is great. I had a few moments when only the front light of the bike would indicate and not the back, or the helmet would but not the bike lights. However by switching everything off and on it usually resolved itself.
The brake light is a great feature too.
I still have moments when I brake and light won't come on but will have to do more testing with it.
When it all works, it's very smooth, I feel seen, other road users know what I'm doing on the road which is great. Battery is also decent, and lights are bright.
I recommend the set with helmet, bike lights, indicator, and adaptive visor.
Cheers guys, well worth the time you put into it.

I purchased the Unit1 helmet along with the lights and remote. It took some time for the order to be dispatched. When I reached out to their help desk, Maria Fernanda Chavarria from their support team promptly got in touch with me. The following day, she shared the airway bill with me. Upon receiving the package and attempting to configure it, I discovered that the remote wasn't connecting despite multiple efforts. I contacted Maria again, and she kindly provided me with steps to troubleshoot the issue myself. This guidance was extremely helpful, and I was able to resolve the problem.
Additionally, I noticed that an item I ordered was missing from the shipment. Once again, I reached out to Maria, and she quickly coordinated with her team to send the missing items. Overall, my experience was very positive. I have purchased from various online sites before and encountered issues, but I must say the support I received from Maria, with no delays, was truly impressive! I wish Maria and her team all the best.

I had some difficulties with charging the Aura helmet, the USB C port could not connect with the charging cable. After sending a mail to UNIT1 they reacted quickly. They asked me to send the broken helmet to there office in Madrid, because they never experienced this issue before I would get a new one. After a couple of days I received the new helmet. Laura of UNIT1 helped with great kindness and gave a super service

I own a helmet and water bottle from this company. I originally bought the helmet for bicycling but found it was a little too heavy for long rides. Now I use it for using electric scooters and it's perfect for that! The water bottle is small for rides, but great for the gym. I knocked it over and an important bit chipped off and I received fantastic customer service.

I bought 1 x Smart light, 1 x Turn Signals, 1 x Smart Light Mount Pack and 1 x Water Bottle. Returned all except the water Bottle.
Unit1 has great products, very good quality, expensive prices (but reasonable), but unfortunately useless App. I wasn't able to connect Smart Light & Turn Signals with App. Bluetooth connection was sometimes unstable, disconnected whenever i opened App.
Every time, I had to delete and install App again to be able to set up light for one time. Afterwards again no connection to App and no possibility to change light mode.
Light switch button wasn't practical, hard to use, very deep integrated into the Smart Light.
Turn Signals Dock was supplied with two rubber straps to be mounted on bike handlebar. A little bit loose, as rubber straps wasn't fixing it tight on handlebar (plastic ring with screws would be a better solution).
Light mount pack includes 4 types of mounts (including Universal Mount), even though Smart Light includes 1 x Universal Mount. I needed only the saddle Mount, but had to pay for the complete pack (not a sustainable solution). Better to offer each mount separately at cheaper price.
Summary: Very good products and solutions, but unfortunately useless if Unit1 doesn't solve the App problem. I would love to buy all the products incl. Aura helmet again, but only if App problems are solved.

I wrote a review before, but I am writing a new one, because their product saved my life. I was riding my bicycle in a bike lane down a moderately busy street when an SUV swerved into my lane and hit me. I bounced off the car and hit and slid a little bit on the concrete. I twisted my wrist, got road rash on my knee, and got 4 stitches across my orbital bone. My Aura helmet, though, took the worst of the impact. The scrape on the side of the helmet would have been my skull. I was banged up, but I didn't have a concussion!
When I talked to the Unit 1 People about my misfortune, they offered a new helmet and visor at-cost, which is quite generous for a small company that is still on the rise. I thank them for making such a good product and for being so accommodating. I truly owe them my life.

Order a small Aura helmet through kickstarter. But when it arrived, realised that it was too small and contacted Unit1. They were very responsive though the whole process took a few months as I had to wait for them to finish shipping to the rest of the backers. But once they received the return Helmet, they were very quick in response and I got the replacement helmet within a week. Thank you Matias, Sofia and Maria for your assistance. Love the Helmet and lights.

I recently purchased two Unit 1 Aura helmets for my wife and I. Whilst being very happy with the comfort and quality of the helmets, we experienced some technical issues with them. We contacted Unit 1 and were assisted by Matias, Johan and Manuel.
The fix took a little while to achieve but we were kept informed regularly about the progress.
The issue is now completely resolved and the service we received from Johan, Manuel & Matias was second to none. These people went above and beyond what could reasonably be expected from customer service.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Unit 1 to anyone seeking quality cycling kit.

Delivery is super fast!
Only two small issues I managed to work out. 1. The remote wouldn't pair with the app, but I only had to reset the helmet (press the power button 8 times very fast).
2. The Android app doesn't seem to be compatible with any of my phones 🤷🏻♂️, but I managed to get the APK from APKpure, then use a XAPK installer to install the app and it worked. I couldn't get the remote firmware to update the first time, so used my iPad to do this. After all this, the Android app works fine and everything updates. Please fix this for users 🙏🏻
