Typhoo One Cup

Typhoo One Cup! Flavourless. Pale. Yuck. Needed two bags to make a cup of tea that tasted of something rather than nothing. So disappointing Typhoo.

In an effort to reduce unnecessary waste, we've moved away from foil packs. This is part of our sustainability goals while maintaining product quality.

The square shape of the tea bag allows for better packing, improved brewing and uses less material, making the process more eco-friendly. Each tea bag now contains 10% more tea for a richer, fuller flavour.

Worst bags iv ever bought taste fine…

Just wanted to add my thoughts here

Just wanted to add my thoughts here. Company states on the box they have cut the amounts of suppliers and consolidated processes to achieve maximum efficiency.

To my mind my favourite tea bag has become bland, weak and tasteless to say the least and I totally agree that the tea bags are continually and habitually coming apart.

There is simply very little flavour in the tea now and as that is by far the most important component (surely) then the updating of practises has been self defeating. How sad that the customer has been ridden rough shod over in order to turn a profit.

Tinme to test the other brands.

Why has Typhoo discontinued QT

Why has Typhoo discontinued QT? Gutted. Never thought this would be unable to buy. My favourite cuppa and easy for me because of having the use of one arm. Have tried everywhere to buy this product. Shame on you Typhoo, I certainly won’t be purchasing any of your other other products.

Boxes Full bursting bags

Ive always used typhoo tea bags as theyre foil wrapped. Great for storage for long journeys on my boat .
But recently they continue to break or split open in the pot
Very frustrating & annoying after purchasing a few 240 boxes

Teabags coming apart

I've been buying typhoo teabags for years. Recently I've begun to get the odd split bag. However my latest box has been a nightmare. Every bag comes apart. It seems they've not been stuck together properly. Its most unpleasant to get a mouthful of tea.. and the mess..!

Response

Teabags are splitting open regardless of how carefully you are. Having to throw a lot of cups of tea away.

Teabags have long since been disposed of as problem was several months ago so not able to provide receipt or take back to shop. But it appeared to be that teabags were sealed too close to the edge if that's any help.

Recently I've noticed that a large amount of Typhoo teabags simply break apart. It's not as if they are stirred hard or squashed to get the maximum flavour, they are just not of decent quality. I'll get in touch with trading standards to register a formal complaint. Judging by the large number of people complaining here, Typhoo simply don't care and never respond to comments. Come on Typhoo, at least attempt to restore peoples trust and have the decency to reply.

Typhoo no longer cares about its customers

I have always bought Typhoo tea bags and generally purchase the large format packs quite frequently (2 x 1100 bags last time), unfortunately my recent purchases have been awful, with very poor flavour and the bags continually splitting & breaking
I complained to Typhoo directly, and after a few months still no response let alone a refund
This once great brand has totally gone down the pan

Finally got a response to this review 6 months later, in the meantime I managed to contact the company directly, and that was a total waste of time, offered a discount voucher to sample one of their other products!!

Yorkshire tea for me now on in, not only tastes good, but the company values its customers...

BUSTED BAGS.

One cup bags broke open in the cup, I informed ty-phoo. I thought I would buy the large box with 240 bags , I have used about 20 bags and 4 of them have broken in the cup. I won't buy any more ty.phoo. Baz

Splitting teabags

Since Typhoo have changed the shape of there teabags from round to square they do no separate without splitting. Same taste that I personally prefer but losing 10% of teabags to tearing when trying to separating them. Thought it was a gimmick or promotion but I believe it's permanent. Might have to reconsider brand.

Typhoo Tea bags bursting

I've always found typhoon tea bags to be reasonable quality but my last 2 purchases has seen bags frequently bursting in the cup so much so that even with extreme care we are losing around a third. I have changed brand not sure I will return to this brand.

Bring back foil

Bring back foil , round , single tea bags . We would only buy those for years but now Typhoo you have lost our customer satisfaction . You should never fix what is not broken . Goodbye Typhoo 15

I have been drinking Typhoo for 63 years.....

I have been drinking Typhoo for 63 years but since 2023 the quality has deteriorated to such an extent that I will not be buying any more, ever. I had hoped that this was just a short term problem with the change of ownership but that is obviously not the case.
Not only is the amount of tea in each bag about half what it used to be, it is virtually tasteless, with minimal aroma and often not an aroma I associate with any kind of black tea. It makes no difference how long the bag is steeped it tastes like dish water.
The packs also come with an increasing number of broken bags and lots of spillage of loose tea that makes a mess everywhere.
I would give zero stars but needed to mark a star to be able to provide a review!

Tyhpoo one cup teabags are appalling

I bought 4 boxes of typhoo one cup teabags at the end of 2023 (so they are still very much in date) as they were on offer at my local supermarket. Just started to use them this year. They were boxes of 100 teabags. I used one of the bags in the foil wrapper (which there are two foil wrappers in each box). One side was fine then when I got started to use the other one, the bags kept bursting, or so I thought. I had bought 2 of the boxes for myself and 2 for my mother. My mother had the same issue. The bags are unusable.

I contacted Tyhpoo initially by email to complain about the issue I had. I had no response. I tried to contact them by telephone which was hard as no one would pick up. I eventually got through and the woman that I spoke to said they hadn't received my email. Then "allegedly" she checked the junk folder and could see my email there. I gave her the batch numbers of the boxes which are the same. She was very nice and apologised and said that from time to time they have issues with the bags sealing. She would send out some vouchers. I thanked her.

Weeks passed and nothing. So I tried to contacted Tyhpoo by telephone again no one would pick up. Eventually got through this morning and explained that I had not received the voucher. She said they were posted out end of February and if I hadn't received them they could not do anything. I was shocked! I said that do they have no way of tracking them. She said no. I said well if I had used the voucher, they would have known. I am not happy as I have unusable teabags, their teabags defeat the purpose if I had wanted loose tea, I would have bought loose leaf tea.

I would not recommend Tyhpoo at all, I think their customer service is appalling, they know I have not used the voucher, or they could have simply sent an e-voucher we are in 2024 after all!

Tea bags splitting daily

Recently purchased the big bag of Typhoo tea bags 440 one, I love the tea itself but extremely disappointed this time round as the bags are constantly splitting never known anything like it before. I have had these for years but I'm throwing away tea bags everyday due to the bag splitting I have would say I have thrown away easily 50 bags so far and not even half way through the bag yet.

Changed brands

Changed to these after pg tips felt fit to ruin the pyramid shape and taste. Much better than the new square pg tips rubbish bags they produce now. Better taste and can get round ones so ideal and better price will stick to these now
