We went to the Travellers Joy for a family meal. We all had a lovely evening. Helpful friendly staff, lovely food very well priced. We will be returning.

We're a small group of folks that started Traveler's Joy on a stoop in Brooklyn, NY in 2004. However, it all really started in 2003 with the serendipitous meeting of our founders at the first overnight hut of the Milford Track in New Zealand. Taking the company from a muddy hike on the South Island to the world's most popular honeymoon registry in a few short years required a lot of work. Luckily we have the best team in the world! I loved the ease & quality of the profile setup. Only one of my wedding guests used it unfortunately. When I received my airline ticket looking voucher letting me know I received a gift I thought it was very cool. I do think it will catch on more as time goes on & especially with the millenials since they do everything online now. Thank you

Convenient and Classy
The site was great for my wife and I. We were looking to move shortly after our wedding and so we didn't want a lot of bulky gifts, and Traveler's Joy was an elegant and classy way to request money instead. People felt engaged and helpful for our honeymoon plans and beyond. It was easy to design and easy to send out the info to people.

So Simple!
We had already been living together for a few years when we got married so there were a lot of typical registry items that we just didn't need. Traveler's Joy was a great way to request monetary gifts, and our friends and family LOVED knowing what their gift would be helping us pay for on the honeymoon! We had no problems from the time we set it up, to when we requested and received the money. I would definitely recommend Traveler's Joy to my friends and family!

Exactly what I wanted!
I was unsure of using an online service to collect gifts for my destination wedding, but Traveler's Joy made the process simple and transparent. I received exactly what I wanted through them! Very grateful for Traveler's Joy!

Only complaint is the time it takes to…
Only complaint is the time it takes to receive your money people have left for you. If you went on your honeymoon right after your wedding you wouldn’t be able to use the gifts until a few days into your vacation. It makes it almost nonfunctional.

Hi Heather, Thank you for your review. I understand how frustrating it must have been to depart for your honeymoon without having all of your gifts already in your bank account.
We always encourage our couples to redeem their gifts 3-5 days before the wedding, the day after the wedding (if possible), and immediately after they return from their honeymoon.
It only takes a maximum of 3 business days to receive gifts if the couple requests the bank transfer (ACH) option.
I have shared your feedback with the team and we will continue trying to find the fastest method for our couples to receive their gifts when redeeming.

No problems with Traveler's Joy. Easy for our guests to use and no one had any problems. It was easy to get our direct deposit at the end. Synced well with our knot website.

Fun and easy to use!
Our experience with Travelor's Joy was excellent! The suggestions they had for adventures were well thought out and easy to use. Our wedding guests enjoyed the option to provide us with experiences rather than material goods. This is an excellent option for a registry!

While it was a great platform...
While it was a great platform - the UX was fantastic, and we were able to do everything we needed with ease - we had one particularly big issue with our experience on Traveler's Joy.
We are in Canada and we as well as many of our donators didn't think to check what currency the gifts would be in. So it was a big surprise when the day before the wedding, my father notified me that all of our guests were being charged 30% more than they thought they were. We had to go through each donation and send personal e-transfers for the difference along with an apology! When you're super busy prepping for a wedding, these things can get overlooked. I think it needed to be much clearer to us and our guests that the currency was in USD.

Thank you so much for this feedback. I've shared this with our entire team. I'm really sorry your gift givers did not know that we are a US based company that processes credit cards in US Dollars. During checkout we have the note, "All amounts are in U.S. Dollars" just below the gift amount but it appears we need to find a better way to communicate this to gift givers. Once again, I'm so sorry this happened to you but thank you so much for sharing your experience so we can find a better way to make sure this does not happen again.

Traveler's Joy made it easy for us to… Get Funds Easily!
Traveler's Joy made it easy for us to select activities to add to our honeymoon list. Most of our family and friends were able to access and contribute with ease. The only downside is that money is taken away from the couple for taxes. This is all explained upfront though. We have no complaints about the site.

How much does it cost?
Gifts provided to you via cash or check are 100% FREE. For gifts given using a credit card, 2.95% is deducted from the gift amount. The gift giver is also charged 2.95% + $0.99 on checkout. These fees cover processing the credit card (which can cost us up to 3%), hosting, features, and services of your registry, phone support five days a week, twenty-four hour email support, and support for your wedding guests who wish to purchase a gift for you over the phone.
You also have the option to give all the credit card fees to the guest making ALL gifts 100% FREE for you to receive. From the same settings, you can also choose to have all fees deducted from the gift amount. This makes a gift cost guests just $0.99 to provide. It's totally up to you!
