What made this great was the properties location. It really made getting out and about very easy and leisurely. Beautiful high st and Saturday market.
We had a domestic problem which was sorted as soon as possible by the office locally. we did enjoy the stay and were quite comfortable. The main bathroom was very up to date, although we had a shower problem here, later resolved, and beds and towels of good quality. However we felt some areas were rather tired, and could be improved with more comfortable and practical furnishings. Whilst appreciating the age of the building it had a feeling of neglect, firm instructions NOT to open windows,NOT to light the cosy stoves NOT to take books??, armchairs when another sofa would have been more beneficial. Also cleanliness, shower curtain had black mould on it, and several utensils and pans had to be washed before use. kettle furred up so limescale had to be rinsed out each morning. These are touches, that whilst not spoiling our stay, show attention to details and clients comfort are not taken as seriously as you would hope.
Finally...no welcome tray, milk, tea, coffee, a biscuit, they were hurriedly sourced at local Tesco. After a long journey it was lacking and unwelcoming as were the dead plants at the front door, appearances do matter

Appalling customer service. We booked a 3 night stay in Fowey as a nice rest stop whilst backpacking along the South West Coast Path.
Our stay was due to start on a Monday. At 4:50pm on a rainy Saturday (they’re closed on Sunday) we had an email saying our booking has been cancelled! We had to roam around the campsite in the wet looking for mobile reception in order to phone THC. The attitude of the person dealing with the matter was “you can find somewhere else…how far are you prepared to go?” I pointed out we were walking and it had to be Fowey. When you’ve walked 100s of miles every extra mile counts! She had no alternative in Fowey, except for a place that was available a day too late. (Why did she even suggest it?) She obviously just wanted to clock off for the day and go home. Not helpful! No suggestion that she’d ring around and come up with something else.
I think the least a company can do if a booking is cancelled at the last minute is to find alternative accommodation… not leave you in a field with little reception trying to sort it on your own as they really could not be bothered with the effort. Why did they not phone as soon as they knew of the cancellation? Why only email? Shocking. This company might be ok when things are going well but when things aren’t there is zero interest in the upheaval it’s created. Would not recommend them. Will not use them again.

This was the first time that we used Toad Hall Cottage’s and found them very friendly, helpful & professional when dealing with them. Drifters is quite an amazing holiday experience the views over Burr Island were fantastic. The beach was wonderful. Our grandchildren loved it and there was a lovely little coffee vendor on the sand which was lovely when going for an early morning walk. The walk down to the beach took about five minutes it was all downhill but do be careful if you have a problem walking as it is quite a steep climb back of course there is a car park so you could drive down if you wanted to. Drifters was so wonderful that we have booked to return next year.

Smell dog on sofas. Unpleasant. Kettle and shower head require descaling. Sink needs bleaching. Shower cubicle and bathroom as a whole need deep clean.
We love visting the new forest but doubtful we would book thro Toad Hall again and most certainly not Cherry Trees.

We would always book with Toad Hall Cottages, information always communicated well and they are always very helpful over the telephone. Knowledgeable local staff which helps. We'd loved our stay in Devon and we'll be booking again for sure.

We have stayed at this cottage many times and always a delight to return. We normally have 2 different weeks at it each year. So close t everything New Forest and within 200m you are on the forest with a choice of woods or heath with its many routes to take, such a joy.
The cottage has everything you could possibly need and always spotless on arrival.

We had another fantastic stay in The Barn. Such a lovely place to be. Very well equipped. I always sleep so well here. The mattrasses are very very good and the Barn is ever so quiet, only birdsong to wake you up. We love the fact that Dartmoor is right at your doorstep. We brought our ebikes and had lovely bikerides on The Granite Way and The Camel Trail. In May 27 we will return and cycle Drake´s Trail. Jon and Mel are fantastic hosts!

We have always loved going to Maenporth over the last 20 years or so. We have already booked for next year. It had been 5 years since our last visit in which we stayed at 4 The Ridges same as this year. However we were very disappointed in how tired and uncomfortable the apartment felt this year. There were ants running all over the kitchen worktops and the furniture felt very uncomfortable when we tried to watch TV. Fortunately we did not have to prepare meals as our daughters had other properties on the estate and we had our meals with them. As stated we do love the estate, the beach and the whole area, but we will not be going back to this apartment.

Lovely accommodation with stunning views across the bay. Comfortable furniture which in accommodation for 2 isn’t always the case.
The service from Toad Hall Cottage’s was first class as expected from booking with them before. Good communication by e mail and easy booking process.

We have arranged a stay at a holiday cottage with this company 3 times now and have found them very easy to deal with. Their website is easy to navigate and the information on each property and area is very useful. We have just had a very enjoyable week in Devon and we would definitely use them again.

'Green Croft' in Lymington - everything supplied for a most comfortable break away. Ate out most days, more by necessity as the kitchen really is super small - but at least we returned for this second hollibob.

Great welcome pack. Sheets, towels crisp and clean. Generally very tired, and needs a good revamp, or decorating, and furniture update. It didn,t spoil our holiday, but was disappointing.

Great location, excellent cottage with the added bonus of a wonderful swimming pool and games room.
A very large airy property with a well stocked kitchen.
Recommended for seeing South Devon

Used Toad Hall Cottages again when we stayed at Maenporth - 30 Lower Stables. Exceptional views from good quality accommodation. Toad Hall Cottages managed to get us a discount on the price of the holiday as we were only staying 13 instead of 14 nights. Much appreciated!

we have used this company a number of times, and the service and help they give is like a personal assistant, cottages are always at a high standard, what you see is what you get, and the little helpful emails to make it easy to arrive, for us its always a first company to check.
