staff were horrible
staff were horrible, vile and disrespectful they regarded children as being “tapped in the head” and completely unorganised and unprofessional. As for rides and all of that pretty good
This was by far one of the worst days…
This was by far one of the worst days out we’ve had — entirely due to Thorpe Park letting far too many people in. Queue times for most major rides were consistently 2–3 hours, making the whole day stressful and unenjoyable.
We thought we’d found a shorter queue when the park first opened: Swarm was showing 30 minutes. Staff were extremely slow letting people through, and by the time we came off the ride the queue had grown to over 2 hours. Several times the ride went round with one side completely empty, and with no direction from staff, one side of the queue was six‑deep while the other wasn’t being used at all.
We also heard disabled guests were unhappy. There was no QR code available to start their virtual wait time. They had already queued for around 20 minutes, only to be told they now had to wait another 2 hours for the next ride — despite the advertised wait being 30 minutes.
On top of this, rides continuously broke down throughout the day, adding even more delays. We only managed three rides in total. Even the fast track queue for one ride took nearly 2 hours, which defeats the point of paying extra.
Overall, it felt very greedy — far too many people allowed in, no crowd control, and no realistic way for guests to enjoy the park. When queues reach an hour, capacity should be controlled, not left to climb to 2–3 hours.
Like many others have said: the rides themselves are great, but the experience is not. We won’t be returning.
Thorpe Park Customer Service Review
I had to contact Thorpe Park Customer Services after booking and paying for day tickets because the customer portal wasn’t working properly. Either the link wouldn’t load or, when it finally did, it kept rejecting my one-time passcode.
My call was answered quickly, and I spoke to Louise, who was absolutely lovely. She was friendly, reassuring, and explained that the issue was on their end. She resolved everything efficiently by sending my tickets as PDF attachments via email within minutes.
Excellent customer service from Louise. She was professional, kind, and a real credit to the team. Thank you for making what could have been a frustrating experience so easy to sort out!
Wasn’t impressed when we came to Thorpe…
Wasn’t impressed when we came to Thorpe park on Monday 13th July, long long ques over an hour and a half, and when we were nearly at the front the rides closed due to technical issues, this happened a few times and quite a few rides were not working, then leaving the car park was told we had to pay for parking this did not sit well with us as a group after having to queue and not getting on all the rides. Just not good enough and in the heat we gave up on a couple of rides as waiting far to long.
Hell starts at the entrance
Hell starts at the entrance, when entering the park you stand in que for 40 minutes just to get your bags searched. Once you enter the park and lock eyes on your first attraction you have to wait 100 minutes +. Furthermore all of the attractions are shutting down as you stand in que. You can’t justify 60£ for 1 ride!
Terrible experience
Terrible experience. Managed to get on only 4 rides all day and they were the tame ones. The queues were around 100 mins for the more extreme rides, which is why we went, and didn't even get to go on them. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Extortionate amount of money for nothing! What a rip off. Don't bother.
Poor experience
If we hadn’t paid for fast track we would’ve only gotten on 2 rides the whole day. So many school trips it was unbelievable, not sure why they can’t limit how many or do certain days for schools. Queues were all 70-125 mins long. Multiple rides were closed that we wanted to go on & on what was one of the hottest days it seemed to be hard work getting a drink at times stalls saying the drinks ‘weren’t cold enough’. They also think it’s acceptable to charge over £3 for a bottle of water, I heard multiple youngsters asking how much a bottle was and walking away because it was too expensive. This shouldn’t be happening and it needs to change. Sadly I will not return to this park after this experience!
If you are looking at purchasing fast track just be careful as it was still long queues for some rides & not worth it.
Let down by customer service
In the week leading up to our visit Thorpe Park made a return to visit for a 2nd day offer available. We enquired at customer services on arrival before entering the park to swap our single day tickets for the 2-day tickers which were the same price and was told to contact customer services. The customer service rep did not say that it would not be possible to do this at any point.
Their web based customer service took a week to respond only to say it would not be possible to grant our 2nd day despite the same ticket cost for 1-day vs 2-day. This is very dissapointing and honestly feels like I dont wan't to return after being short changed like this.
During our visit there was a high amount of school trips with Hyperia reaching 2 hour+ queues. We paid for fast track access to this but still had to wait more than 40mins to ride this as it seems fast track was oversold.
not worth it at all
not worth it at all; payed almost £400 on entry tickets and fast track in hopes of getting through lots of rides for what we payed, and nothing felt different. if anything the fast track queues were forgotten and even slower than the normal queues.
and as if the day couldnt get any worse, 5 of the main rides shut permanently (including saw where we queued for 50 mins before being told there was an “unknown delay” and we could “leave if we wanted to”)
overall, dont waste your time and money… go to alton towers
Terrible staff rude and not helpful .
Terrible staff rude and not helpful .. food is an absolute disgrace and taste of nothing but plastic .. ride time are appalling anything from 1 hour to 3 hour wait rime ot stand in que by the time u get one one ride u can hardly get into a third because of closing time some rides were stopped and switched off with no explanation.. the ghost train omg what a load of rubish
Thorpe Park….let’s que que que.
Where do I start..
1) Security check took 1 hour to start with and people barrier jumping and no one noticed.
2) 1.5/2 hours to Que for Nemisis as it had just reopened.
3) then 2 hours to Que for Hyperia in the single rider lane otherwise nearly 2&3/4 hours for the normal Que. Fast track wasn’t much quicker! Single rider was mainly the kids off the coaches.
4) positives were both rides today were brilliant and loved them.
5) after all the queing, gave up and went home at 4.30pm as couldn’t face hours more queing to get three rides out my day trip.
6) 2 rides and long ques doesn’t equate to good value for money so more than disappointed and feel stung in the wallet.
7) whilst out of the control of Merlin, the M25 was queing going to and from the park so this really finished off the day. I could have got Alton Towers quicker at the other end of the country and got on more rides!!
8) if you like to two rides for the cost of a ticket plus the £12.50 pre paid parking and hours and hours of queing with coach loads of school kids out on a day trip then this is for you.
I can’t see myself ever going back….it just isn’t worth wasting a day paying to be in que.
Thorpe Park please make the access to the rides more efficient without compromising safety or perhaps limit the numbers in the park.
SHOCKING OUTRAGEOUS RIP OFF
SHOCKING OUTRAGEOUS RIP OFF. This park charges thousands and thousands of teens £30 to wait in hot queue for 8 hours. My son went today and got on 2 rides in total. It's a total SCAM. DO NOT waste your precious time or money.
DO NOT GO. BORED ASF
Long horrible wait in queues up to an hour or more. You barely get to go on any rides even if you come when they open. Ridiculous how much money you have to spend to go on the fast tracks for each ride. You have better off doing something else. Very upsetting and boring
the cabins were disgusting and flooded…
the cabins were disgusting and flooded during stay and eventually changed the room for something a bit better but overall poor. the top this off on the last day the last ride i went on was bumper cars and when getting bumped the bar crushed into my ribcage and broke my ribs. i had addressed this to thorpe park and they offered tickets for the park to visit again. as if this was going to happen. as for the injury they were in total denial of this even though medical evidence suggested otherwise. shocking to say the least and i would dismiss visiting there ever again let alone stopping over. joke of a business and very poor customer service. avoid!!
Have to wait 43 minutes in 35 degrees for a drink
I'm in a theme park after paying 130 pounds from r tickets 2x 85 pounds for silver fast pass and 54 pounds for hyperia fastpass and 18 pounds from refill cup and took a taste from the vending machine and it was warm and did not taste right walked to another machine and was told I had to wait 43 minutes for a ther drink. No wonder Merlin is in trouble. In the old days the staff dispensed the drinks if it was wrong no problem was replaced. Went through another set of dispense machines at saw ride not t working. There are s dirt all over the place and none cares.
Great day at Thorpe
Great day at Thorpe, fourth trip so far this year. Despite the bad weather ride availability was as good as you could hope for. Staff were great and special mention to Cooper on The Swarm, who during one of the weather closures, was very chatty with me & a couple of other people who stayed in the station queue to wait for it reopening - great seeing the passion about theme parks the team have
Upsetting birthday visit to Thorpe Park
My daughter went to Thorpe Park in April to celebrate her 16th birthday. Instead of having a birthday meal, she choose to have the money spent on fast passes for her and her friend. We paid for the entry with Tesco vouchers. The fast passes were for the 5 big rides (not including Hyperion) but 4 of the rides were shut when they arrived. Some stayed shut for the whole day and others were open and closed throughout the day. Even when they used the passes the queue was 30 minutes. Hyperion was a 2-hour queue due to so much else being closed. I fully appreciate some technical difficulties and some queues but the whole day was a disaster and my daughter was so upset. When I complained, the response was that the queues were as normal and they offered a discounted return trip with one fast pass. Thorpe Park used to be amazing but now they over fill it and do not care if people have a bad experience. There are better places to spend a day.
Great... even on a Bank Holiday
We went this Bank Holiday Monday - slightly fearing the worst, and had an INCREDIBLE day!!!
We got to go on all the [AMAZING] rides we wanted too with 30 minute queues, tops
All the staff [including security] were brilliant; getting to and leaving the car park was incredibly easy; and the whole day was amazing value for money - plus the park looked immaculate
I cannot rate this place highly enough
Well done team!!!
