I have ordered about 4 times from TPTC over the last couple of years and each plant was delivered in good quality and condition. It's worth bearing in mind that the majority of their plants, particularly the more mature specimens, are field grown in Italy/Spain, and so do get dug up and squeezed into pots, but they endeavour to ensure that the plants have re-rooted healthily before bringing them over to the UK for onward sale to the customer. This helps to ensure that the plants will flourish to expectations. Communication from product enquiry through to payment and delivery is generally good, however it's again worth noting that they're often really really busy so you might have to give them another nudge sometimes if your query happens to slip astray especially if it's urgent. Pricing of plants seems to be about right and they are often cheaper than other retailers on the market. The pre-order service is also handy particularly if you have a specific wishlist and want to guarantee first dibs on the next import of plants for the next growing season. Overall lovely to do business with I would recommend and will continue to use TPTC going forward.

Good product, but abysmal customer service, in fact it’s non-existent!!
I ordered 2 cordyline trees on Tuesday June 4th whilst on the phone to Allan, the manager. I requested that they be delivered on Thursday 13th as I knew I’d be at home all day. On that day, I phoned Allan at lunchtime to ask if he could give me an approximate delivery time, but after checking, he told me that my order hadn’t been loaded on the van!
I requested that he send it via courier or transport company, which he refused to do, so as I was getting more annoyed, I said that I’d want some compensation. Allan himself couldn’t sanction this, so he said that he’d get Chris, the owner, to call me about it. I asked what he intended doing about my delivery, to which he said that he’d rearrange the following days load, so that I’d receive my order at 09:00 on Friday 14th June. I said that would be acceptable, but I would be going out at lunchtime, so it needed to be delivered on time.
09:00 came and went, as did 10:00 and 11:00 and still no delivery! At 11:30, I received a phone call from the delivery driver, who advised me that delivery would be made in another two and a half hours!! So much for a 9am delivery! I told him he could make the delivery, although I wouldn’t be at home, then went out as planned. I arrived home at 14:15 to see the van on my drive, and the driver looking perplexed on the back. He unloaded the smaller tree whilst I went indoors, but he couldn’t unload the larger tree by himself, so I had to help him.
I again phoned Allan as I hadn’t received the call from Chris, and he said that he’d put the paperwork on Chris’s desk, with a note telling him to phone me.
Two weeks and four phone calls to Allan later, I still hadn’t received the call from Chris, so I phoned Allan yet again. He told me that Chris was in Spain, so it seems quite obvious to me, that he had absolutely no intention whatsoever to speak to me about compensation for a non delivery, a late delivery, and my help with unloading my order. I have NEVER known a company to have so much disregard and disrespect for one of their customers. I spent £740 on my order, so I think the least the company could do is to show some decent customer service, and offer me more than just a £10 bottle of plant food!

Re THE RESPONSE: isn’t it funny how whenever a negative rating or comment about the palm tree company is made, it’s always the customer who is wrong according to Chris, the owner? Why is it never the company’s fault? Whatever happened to ‘the customer is always right’?
As far as Chris’s comments are concerned, what a load of rubbish!! Yes I raised my voice once or twice because I was very angry at the lack of customer service, but I wasn’t rude to anyone - I didn’t swear or call anyone names, and as far as being on speaker during the phone calls, what sort of company answers calls on speaker? Surely all the staff would be busy concentrating on their work, or should be! I think that, in an effort to make his company look good and me look bad, Chris is just making things up. As far as his last comment is concerned, I haven’t lost a good supplier by any means, I’ve actually saved myself from giving any more money to a self-important owner of a useless company!!

Ordered a Dicksonia Antarctica Tree Fern on Sunday 02/06 and it was delivered 11/06 with no hassle at all. I'm really please with it and a great price compared to other Companies. Thank you!!! I will definitely be using you again.

I recently received my tree fern and it was amazing.
I found everyone I liaised from contacting the company to the delivery driver were very friendly and happy to give advice about my purchase.

Ordered a trachycarpus fortunei for my garden online, item was delivered this evening by their own driver and transport, driver contacted me once he was on his way . Rob was very helpful and polite and put my palm where I wanted it , plant was better than I expected it will be a great edition to my tropical garden . Service was excellent and I would highly recommend. Thank you

Almost one in five of all Trustpilot reviews of The Palm Company are negative, This exactly fits my experience. I bought five plants for more than £400, of which four were in excellent condition. However, a pot grown Dicksonia Antarctica Tree Fern (£110) was a huge disappointment. It arrived looking rather weather beaten, and within a few weeks all its fronds turned brown. I cut them off, leaving me with a small fern with just two fronds only 30 inches tall, compared with the advertised height of 4 feet.
When I complained, they suggested that the poor condition of the fern was due to frost damage and because I had not watered it. However, I live by the coast in Dorset and we have had NO frosts since the plant was delivered. I have also watered it every day since delivery. I believe that the plant had suffered from frost before delivery. The company says that if I feed the plant it will get stronger. That may be true, but given how much I paid I expected a fern in perfect condition. Avoid this company: a 20% chance of disappointment is too high.

I made a review earlier this week regarding a plant I bought from the palm tree company expressing my disappointment with the plant, since then they have been in contact with me and they apologised for the issue, they acted in a very professional manner and polite to . Because of this I’ve changed my review of them as both them and myself reached a satisfactory conclusion, I would deal with them in the future and wish them continuing success in their business. Just to say thanks for the quick delivery of the 6ft olive tree. Apart from the typo for delivery day so then almost walked into the tree when I opened the door the following morning! Online order to door in less than a week.
Delivery, quality and transportation were clearly really great. The tree is in great nick - lovely specimen and really bushy - not what you expect from online at all (although having read the reviews prior I was hopeful)
So thanks very much it now looks great on our decking!!

Recently purchased a Dixonia Antarctica ( Australian Tree Fern) from the Palmtree Company.
Allan was very helpful and answered my emails promptly and informed me of delivery day /time.
Rob the delivery driver was extremely personable and very helpful, even offering to place the tree fern in situ for me.
The tree fern is in superb condition and is a very strong and substantial specimen.
I thoroughly recommend this company for the quality of its products

I’ve purchased various plants and trees from the palm tree company over the years and all have been of the highest quality. The latest is a Trachycarpus fortunei which was delivered today. Excellent specimen and exactly as described on the website. Communication always good from the sellers and driver on delivery day. Thanks very much guys!

purchased a Trachycarpus Fortunei Palm Tree , received a tree with stunted growth that has clearly been forced up the quality of the tree was clearly the last thing in mind , cutting the palms off too early puts the palm in a deficit mode by taking away the plant's food-producing capacity , leaves and trunk get smaller , i now have a palm tree with a thin trunk with one palm leaves group on a one inch stem ,with very thin stems on the other it has been force grown with only height in mind, having purchased a similar tree several years ago i know how the tree is supposed to look ,
having got in touch with the palm tree company the indications are that the suppliers grow them this way ,after getting touch with an expert elsewhere [ nobody was answering the phone at the palm tree ],they said they had already had three phone calls that day with same issues ,

Last weekend I bought a tree fern online from ThePalm Tree Company. A couple of days later the tree fern arrived. The plant was in excellent condition and was far superior than anything I have seen at local garden centres. The trunk was a little longer than advertised and the width of the trunk was broader than anything I have seen previously with a healthy crown full of new fronds that should shoot soon.

Having placed my first order with this company, there's always a period of doubt about what's actually going to arrive. My doubts didn't last long!

I purchased a 45L Citrus Sinensis Sweet Orange tree and received exactly that. It has a beautiful broad canopy dripping in flowers, is around 5ft 6" tall in the pot and looks really strong and healthy, no signs of any pests or disease. It even has a large orange still in place on it and the flowers smell heavenly.

Delivery took just 3 days to arrive from placing the order. It was carefully carried up a set of outdoor steps to my front door and the delivery driver was super polite. All in all, my expectations were exceeded and I have just placed a second order for a lemon tree.

Im a customer for 6 years and literally brought more than 60 plants so far. These includes palms, exotics, fruits, vines, tree ferns, tropical flowers...
Excellent service and prompt email responses are highlights.
BUT, last 2 occasions reputations and expectations took a hit. Bought biggest size Butia and B Armata last 4 months.
Butia was lot smaller than expected, B Armata had rotten stem and root and I couldn't see due to winter. My near by garden centre has much bigger specimen at same price. Also pot size was small and toppled over in storm. I had to repot immediately.
Contacted seller, Chris offered to change for Butia. But realistically, not worth now.

My second olive tree from the palm tree company , beautiful trees , great price ,and quick delivery, a pleasure doing business , I will be purchasing again I am sure .

I have just taken delivery of a 7ft Tree Fern which was ordered last week and it is absolutely stunning. This is my second order from this company and I could not fault them. The delivery driver went above and beyond, and the tree itself is the healthiest that I have seen - I have been looking for one at local garden centres and this one is so much nicer and such a good price. I would definitely recommend The Palm Tree Company and will continue to purchase from them for any future Palms / Tree's for my garden.

Want to say what great customer service I experienced from Allan in dealing with a recent order - a birthday present for my daughter. This is the 2nd time I have made a purchase with the company. I made this order quite late at night on the 22nd February, and ended up ordering the wrong size Tree Fern - completely my error. I emailed directly after ordering, Allan responded that night and the next day, and agreed he would adjust the order and reimburse the difference. Within days everything agreed had been done, and delivery made a few days later directly to my daughter. Thank you again Allan for your great service. Will definitely ordering again from you.

I did my research , searched online and local suppliers as I knew exactly what I wanted and how much I roughly wanted to pay , The Palm Tree Company although not the cheapest online but certainly cheaper than any Garden Centre or Wholesale Company , seemed to be offering a very good deal for a Dicksonia Tree Fern 1ft for around £70.00 but I decided to go for the 2ft and pay £130 (give or take 5p) and WOW is all I can say , what a fabulous fern , delivered with Care straight to my Garden and much bigger than I expected , had a text to tell me when , and Sean was so helpful . I am still researching , getting the correct soil , plant food and making sure it is kept watered , then I will wrap it for the winter . Thank You Palm Tree Company , one very satisfied customer and I was so pleased with the Tree Fern that was delivered , I hope I live up to its expectations !

Excellent service! A company that will actually deliver to the north of Scotland, and does, as it advertises, deliver for free to mainland UK (too many times have got to delivery options with other companies and found they don’t consider Inverness to be part of mainland UK🤔). Citrus Caviar tree I ordered arrived in great condition and fruit already appearing. Will definitely be recommending The Palm Tree Company, and ordering again.
