Very Disappointed

I purchased sandals from Terra House that were advertised as “Marsala leather.” I paid $42.99, expecting a reasonably well-made leather sandal. What I received was anything but that. The sandals are incredibly cheap-looking and poorly made—honestly, they look and feel worse than something I could buy at a dollar store.

When I contacted Terra House about returning them, I was offered a 20% refund and told I could keep the shoes. What a joke. I don’t want to keep shoes I would never wear, and in my opinion, they aren’t even worth 50 cents.

Then I was told that if I wanted to return them, I would have to pay the return postage. That’s when things got even more ridiculous. I was told the return would have to be sent to Turkey, and the postage would cost approximately $37—almost the entire $42.99 I paid for the sandals!

What makes this especially frustrating is that my credit-card transaction clearly identifies the merchant as “TERRA HOUSE CO., NC” and the transaction description says “SP TERRA HOUSE TERRA HOUSECO.NC.” As a customer, seeing the merchant identified as NC, I certainly had no reason to expect that returning an item would require me to ship it internationally to Turkey at my own expense.

I am extremely disappointed with both the quality of the product and the return process. The sandals were advertised in a way that made them sound like a quality leather product, but what arrived was extremely cheap.

Offering me 20% to keep a product I don’t want, while making the alternative a $37 international return, is not what I consider reasonable customer service.

I would absolutely not recommend Terra House. Buyer beware—especially if you think you’re dealing with a U.S.-based merchant and assume returning your purchase will be straightforward.

I've tried to return my order which is made of poor quality! Nothing like you view online. I have left 3-4 messages on their customer service. There is no person to speak to. I also sent 3 emails to their CS and NO RESPONSE FROM THEM!
HORRIBLE SERVICE. Save yourself from the grief of dealing with these people!!!

I strongly recommend avoiding Terra House

My experience with Terra House was extremely disappointing and I would strongly advise others not to purchase from this company.

I ordered a pair of shoes for $56.98. When they arrived, they were too small and the quality was significantly below what I expected based on the website presentation. I requested a return immediately on the day of delivery.

Instead of simply processing the return, Terra House first offered me a 20% refund to keep the shoes or 75% store credit. When I insisted on a full refund, they instructed me to return the shoes to an address in Turkey.

Because this was an international return, I specifically asked them to confirm that the address was complete and correct and requested a recipient phone number for customs/postal purposes. Terra House confirmed in writing that the address was correct and told me that the return should be possible without a phone number.

I followed their instructions exactly and paid PLN 63 (around €15) to send the shoes back with tracked international shipping. I also sent Terra House the tracking number, which they acknowledged and said they would monitor.

The parcel reached Turkey — but according to the postal operator’s internal tracking system, the addressee refused the parcel. It was then returned all the way back to Poland, where I was asked to pay approximately another PLN 80 in return charges.

When I contacted Terra House asking why a parcel sent to their own confirmed return address had been refused, I received no meaningful explanation.

Eventually I had to open a PayPal Buyer Protection case. PayPal resolved the case in my favour and refunded the full purchase price.

So after weeks of emails, an international return, additional shipping costs and a PayPal dispute, I finally recovered the cost of the shoes — but only thanks to PayPal, not because Terra House properly handled the return.

I cannot comment on the company’s intentions, but in my experience their return process made obtaining a normal refund unnecessarily difficult and expensive. A customer should not have to pay for an international return to an address confirmed by the seller only for the parcel to be refused at destination.

Based on my experience, I would not buy from Terra House again and I strongly recommend that other customers think twice before ordering. If you do purchase, I would strongly suggest paying through a service that provides buyer protection and keeping all correspondence and shipping documentation.

Pathetic customer service. Sent me a wrong order on the shoes that i ordered and no one would respond to my complaints.
Horrible experience!

Just don't do it. Takes weeks to arrive, low quality clothes, no decent return policy, you have to badger customer service for them to respond (which they eventually did) but it doesn't matter. The clothes are worth about $2.00 and I lost lots of money. Never again. Lesson learned.

Excellent customer service. Strong ability to go above and beyond to solve the problem and compensate for items that were too small.

I love the look. Just like I was hoping. The lenses are fab. If I want to exchange lens for prescription lenses, the frames are still worth it. AWESOME. Ill be back to find more styles. You impressed me with this model.

I wonder if sending messages out could really help consumers not just track but no one actually delivers that would really help us out myself. I have over 30 more packages. I’d love to buy from you guys, but the knowing when the person actually arise won’t have you guys in two or three days Weather if that same package has arrived

I ordered my shoes size 10.5 they sent wrong size in 10 they didn’t want to return my money even if have proof I sent pictures they said to return item to UK and pay fees so this will be what I paid. Shame on them.

Not so great delivery in a bag and not a box. Shoes were squashed out of shape on arrival.
Also, offered a discount on a second pair which was not applied to my second purchase🙁🙁🙁

The shoes that I purchased were made of inferior materials and were not worth the price that I paid. The shoes cost as much as I would have paid in a retail store. Returning them was not easy and at my expense.

I wore my new shoes today! Super comfortable and really quite pretty. I was looking for a tan shoe for awhile and these looked special. Delivery took a lot longer than I hoped.

Terrible customer service

The Sunglasses are just as described, very stylish at a bargain price. Plus I love the UV filter tint. It doesn't make the world look dark, but a soft shade of brownish yellow.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PEOPLE... THE ORDERED ITEM TAKE A LOG TIME TO ARRIVE (20) DAYS. THE SHOE LOOK GOOD BUT MADE OF CHEAP MATERIAL. I BEEN TRAYING TO CONTACT SOMEONE TO PROVIDE ME WITH INFO ON HOW TO RETURN THE ITEM SINCE IT DOESNT FIT>> THEY DONT ASNWER THEIR PHONE AND THEY RESPOND TO ONE EMAIL AND STILL NOT PROVIDING ME WITH THE RETURN PROCESS.
