I called Tavern Solar Energy on Sat 28th June anticipating leaving a message, so completely surprised when my call was answered by Chris, Chris asked me to take pictures of my system and e mail across, then Jake, (his son) would e mail me a quote. On 2nd July I received the quote, which I accepted, installation was arranged for 10th July. Zak and his colleague arrived at the agreed time, and my two Growatt batteries were installed. Zac also gave me a tutorial on the app (which was never covered by the installation company and no follow up either).

I got a solar panels system + battery installed from Tarven.

I think that Excellent is probably the right word to describe Tarven in all aspects!!

They gave me lots of inputs when I was exploring the options at the beginning.
Then they matched all my requirements when I got the offer (others were recommending other options despite my requests or just abandoned me) and they kindly sent me a follow up at the time I asked.
The installation was exactly on time and they did a great job, working in a way that made us really happy.
Everything was tidy and clean when they finished.
I got all documents and explanations about how to proceed with a couple of things in the admin.
And Jake is really responsive and always available for questions and support!!
Finally, the price I paid is fair.
And my system is great!

They are a relatively small family business, but trust me when I say that I rarely experienced such a good service from a contractor, so I strongly recommend Tarven.

Tarven helped me to install an EV charger. I chose this company as I was very impressed with their professionalism, knowledge and quality of work from an earlier experience. You will be in safe hands. They will supply and fit.

We used Tarvern Solar to help us with our existing solar panels that needed moving to allow us to do a loft conversion. Jake was so helpful, walking us through different options (e.g. replacing the existing panels or upgrading to new ones) & the pros and cons and costs of each. Communication was great, and the team always arrived promptly and tidied up after themselves. Jake was so helpful and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Tarven Solar or use them again.

This is my second review of Tarven. Initially they installed an EV charger for me. The process was smooth and customer service fantastic. Since then, they have changed light fittings and trouble shot on underfloor heating, recently they came out very quickly to fix a burning fuse. I have every confidence in their knowledge and am grateful for the speedy help in an emergency. It’s great to have a reliable ‘go to’ number in my phone when needed.

If only I had gone to Tarven Electrical to start with. I had a BIG problem with original solar and battery installers supplying MCS cert but no DNO paperwork, two years in fact for MCS.
Got in touch with Tarven who arrange a retrospective application in the space of just a few days.
Could not fault their professionalism, efficiency of communications. Would highly recommend.

Jake helped us out when the existing panels on a flat roof had moved in the wind. It turned out we also had roof problems so he had to dismantle the solar set up and then return to reinstall which he did at short notice. The new mounting system is much more secure and at the correct angle.

The fitting of 2 electrical appliances was efficiently done & within a reasonable timeframe. The young operative did a good job.

Called out TARVEN for a fault in our system- left our Inverter dismantled and asked to rewire for 3k, or change the whole system for 10k!
Called JDEngineering who replaced the connectors to restore the system for £120

Quick responses and excellent arrangement all the time from Jake since our 1st conversation.

The Installers (Sam & Ethan) are friendly and patiently provide me guidance on set-up/using the EV charger, their on-time arrival is also very much appreciated.

It is important to have reliable Electricians around and the Tarven Team is definitely my recommendation.

Our solar heater for the hot water had given up the ghost after 12yrs . No dramas from Jake and his team , replaced with an up to date model . All now working perfectly. Would highly recommend.

At the beginning of May 2023 Jake and his team installed 12 solar panels, Sunsynk Hybrid Inverter and 2 x 5.12KW Sunynk batteries at our detached 5 bedroom house where 3 adults live. Prior to May 2023 Ovo Energy’s monthly direct debit for gas and electricity was over £240 per month and in June they approved it should be reduced. It is now under £90 per month with a positive balance still predicted at the end of 12 months.
Jake carried out a great installation and remains very helpful if we have problems - but we don’t!

An honest company. Did everything that had been discussed, overcame everything that could have become a problem and produce a well finished job.

Called Jake at Tarven, told him that the original sparkle could not commission the job or enable the Zappi to be connected even though he had assured me he had installed hundreds, Sam came out and in spite of the rain and the other sparkle not wiring up the diss board correctly spent hours with Myenergi sorting out an incorrectly set up Zappi had the patience of a saint to see the job through to the end, I don’t normally give reviews of 5* but the team really went the extra mile.

The problems that we have had with the previous install
The company that installed our roof panels + batteries were not qualified or regulated by MCS to complete the work and left the install with big problems. The name of the company is Think Green Partnership.
So I had to get another company called Tarven Electrical,who had to correct all of the issues and to get everything registered properly.
Now the system is working really well with no problems+the system is saving lots of money
But I was contacted by the previous company 2 weeks ago and was told that the batteries needed to be reset and that is absolute rubbish.So I have told them not to contact me again.
Also they never provided a C99 certificate which can cause problems if selling the house.
Tarven Electrical have sorted every out properly and have run checks + have provided 1st class aftercare second to none.
Finally after Tarven Electrical put safety labels on all DC wiring + the CT connection correctly and the AC connection to the board in the correct position everything now works brilliantly.
Now you really know what I think.
