Paid in full and still chasing them to fix it
I’ll be honest, I wanted this to go well and it has been one let down after another.
The sales side was pushy and full of promises, and a very different story once they had the order. At one point I was chased for payment before my own agreed due date, called repeatedly, pressured to pay early to “help him out,” talked over and then had the phone put down on me. To their credit the office did apologise for that and confirm my agreed terms stood, but it should never have happened in the first place.
I ordered 16 panels, originally agreed as 10 on the back and 6 on the front. The salesman processed it wrong as 8 and 8, an even split that never made sense across two differently facing roofs, and it wasn’t picked up at the survey either. I only spotted it myself after fitting. I paid extra for two more panels to help put it right and save tearing both sides of my roof apart, not because the mistake was mine.
On install day the solar didn’t work at all, a network cable fault. It turned out to be a 30 minute fix, but no one came to do it for two weeks, and in the meantime I was generating next to nothing on a system I’d just had installed. None of that had anything to do with payment, which wasn’t even due until well over a month later.
My bigger concern now is the panels themselves. The bottom row hangs over the edge of my gutter, and I’ve since been told by several people who know solar that this isn’t right, that panels are meant to be set back from the roof edge rather than overhanging it, both so rain goes into the gutter and so wind can’t get under them. When I raised it, the reply I got was essentially “the screws are strong, keep an eye out for spills,” and the ticket was then closed.
I’ve paid in full and I’m still chasing them to put right a job that should have been done properly the first time. I genuinely wanted to be able to recommend them to my neighbours. As it stands, I can’t.
Update.
I originally posted this, then took it down after Bliss got in touch and offered to come out and put things right. In fairness to them I wanted to give them that chance. Having now seen how it went, I’m putting the review back up and bringing it up to date.
They did come out. Two of their engineers looked at it and agreed straight away that the bottom row was overhanging the gutter and needed sorting. The plan was to split the front eight panels into two groups of four either side of the chimney and move them up the roof. They also agreed the bird mesh needed redoing.
Before any work started, I asked them in writing to confirm a few simple things: how they’d be sealing the holes left behind where the panels were being moved from, whether any tiles damaged in the process would be replaced, and whether the layout change meant my MCS certificate needed updating. I didn’t get an answer to any of them. They went ahead with the work anyway.
They did move the panels and they refit the bird guard, so credit where it’s due there.
Moving the panels also brought something else to light. When they did the original install back in April, they had removed my soil pipe and never told me. I had no idea it was gone, as it was hidden under the array. It was only when they shifted the panels into the new layout that the hole where it used to be became visible. Once it was, they came back the next day and fitted a new waste pipe, which I’ll give them credit for. But the new pipe is missing its vent guard, so it’s now sitting open to birds and debris. I emailed them a photo to flag it, and so far I’ve had no reply.
Then the part that really bothers me. After the work I went up on the roof myself to have a look, something I’d already told them I wasn’t comfortable doing as I don’t like heights, and measured the gap between the edge of the panels and the edge of the roof. It’s about 60mm. From what I’ve read, the standard for a domestic pitched roof is a 400mm setback from the edge, unless there’s a wind-uplift calculation and extra fixings to justify going closer. So after two visits, the panels are still sitting right on the edge of the roof, which was the whole problem I raised in the first place.
So here I am, paid in full, having given them the chance to fix it, and now chasing a fresh set of problems on top of the original one. Two visits have produced two new issues and left the main one unresolved. I really did want to update this to say it had all been sorted. I can’t.
I made contact with Bliss on the 16th April, the survey booked and comleted on the 29th April, the install was commisioned on the 12th May, The whole team are reactive to emails and calls and take time to explain everything in detail, I opted for the fox ess system with 2 batteries, 14 panels and an ev charger the price at the time of install was just under £12000, compared to other solar companies I felt it was an honest price, it comes with hies insurance backing which means should anything happen to Bliss you still get the care and cover you need through the scheme, this was the biggest point for me as not many installers do this, The longest part of the proccess is the gaining the mpan details from uk power networks which is out of Bliss's control, this took 7 weeks from commisioning to receiving the documents and mpan, I contacted Bliss on the first occasion to get an update and they responded and continued to keep an eye on it all the way though, thanks to Joe for the sales and supporting documents, to Alex who is great by the way and is still in contact 7 weeks after the install to make sure we're getting the best from the system, the install team which were clean, tidy and very focused on maximising the install, Ralph who was the lead all the way through and James for stepping in to help as soon as required, overall a great honest company with prices that reflect the aftercare provided
Our particular project was complicated due to the panels being located 200m from the house but the Bliss team pulled together and delivered a fantastic system for us, the install was smooth and well organised. I will be using them again in the future.
We had some misunderstanding on the cable route and with director (Dale's) interventions all was amicable resolved. Job completed.

The workers were very quick and when they finished, they left great big holes in the floor when I rang the company to see about making the holeis good I was told there electricians not carpenters one of their workers was here at the time and he said that’s very rude

Brilliant service from start to finish.
We are so happy with our solar panels. The electrician went through the App with us and we find it easy to use. The experience overall had been excellent.

From the initial enquiry to meeting Joe, Sales advisor, and then Alex and the installation team, it’s been a breeze. Any questions were dealt with straight away. Chloe in the office was there to assist with any issues. The system has been up and running for almost a month and anything to be a little bit more self sustainable is a good thing in my eyes. Very prompt response to initial enquiry following recommendation from neighbour. The Energy Assessor (salesman to you and me) listened well to what we said and avoided unnecessary detail, and then provided an initial quotation very quickly, which he updated again very quickly to take advantage of the chance to improve the system. We were able to take advantage of a very keen price and quick installation date, with a lead time in weeks, compared to a national company with a lead time in months.
The contract signing process and technical survey booking was efficiently handled by the friendly office staff and the surveyor was also prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and able to answer all our questions.
The friendly installation team did a great job on the day with all work completed as planned and a clear explanation provided of the app that shows the system operation.
The scaffolding team, although sub-contractors, also did a great job.
It was great to know that everyone we dealt with was a direct employee of a regional company, apart from the scaffolders for obvious reasons; no faceless bureaucrats!
In summary, a great company to deal with, with great people, who did what they said they would do when they said they would do it, providing in a great product and service an excellent solution to our Solar Energy challenge.

Having just moved from a property where we had solar panels and a battery system installed, we were very keen to make the best use of this new (to us) house with its south facing roof. Having contacted a number of companies, we decided to go with Bliss Eco-Energy despite their being based over 150 miles away in Essex (we are in the New Forest)! The main reason for this is that the lead time for other companies was measured in months, some even quoting dates in 2026, while Bliss promised to be able to start work almost as soon as the survey had been completed. Also Bliss clearly had all the necessary accreditations with HIES, Tesla and their online reviews were very favourable.
The time from first contact to installation was just over 1 month with the price quoted very much in the same ballpark as the other companies, all for almost identical PV systems with 16 panels and the Tesla Powerwall 3 with Tesla gateway providing full house backup.
The installation team of 6 arrived at 08:20 and were finished by 1pm. The speed at which they worked was amazing, but may also explain the problems subsequently discovered and our reason for not giving the full 5 stars.
One of the solar panels was rather obviously sitting slightly proud of the others. More seriously, the earth bonding had not been properly installed and tested. Both of these faults were rapidly fixed by people driving the 300 mile round trip, so I cannot fault Bliss’s Eco-Energy’s commitment to customer service. Another problem was that the DC cables connecting the solar panels to the powerwall were not routed as the surveyor had described, but instead took a path where a significant section would be subject to full sunlight all day. Again, a 300 mile round trip was taken to reroute those cables through the attic space.
We are delighted with the performance of the system, and the very short lead time before installation. We are also very happy with the speed in which the problems have been resolved, although we feel that those problems might have been avoided had a little more time and care been taken during installation.

Rob, Alex and the whole team led us through everything we needed to know throughout the process. All the other vendors were pushing overly priced small installations which we realised didn’t make sense for us after a lot of research. Bliss Eco Energy had the expertise and flexibility to fit to our property and requirements. The guys that came to do the install were fast, efficient, friendly, diligent and careful with our home.
We got an auditor in after the installation, and ended up making a huge EPC jump from a low D to a solid B, more than offsetting the already competitive pricing of the install in increased house value! And that was before we realised the huge savings we were making every day on energy bills, even selling energy back to the grid on cloudy October days! The cherry on the cake is that we now qualify for a lower interest green mortgage, shaving more than £1k a year off our mortgage too.
I would recommend Rob and his team without hesitation to anyone that is tired of high energy bills and outdated housing. My neighbours and friends are tired of hearing about how great they are. Just pull the trigger and have them upgrade your roof and life already, it’s a no brainer investment.

Great installation by expert engineers. I am very very happy with everything installation was excellent and saving from day 1 .
