Why is the travel Quiz in the Sunday times magazine so hard to enter? Multiple tries every week but still can’t get through
Scandalous and (must be) illegal…
Scandalous and (must be) illegal attempts to stop you cancelling - do not sign up for the free month trial, they make it basically impossible to cancel. Such poor behaviour. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Shocking experience - they are trying to lock you into contracts
Shocking experience. Signed up for a one month trial and did no wish to continue. The only time they flag you need cancel by phone is when you first log into the app and never again. I tried to cancel three days after the expiry of my one month trial and they are trying to charge me for a full month with no flexibility or acknowledgement that the cancellation procedure is poorly communicated.

It is THE MOST DIFFICULT subscription to cancel. You have to call them and then they keep transferring you from one desk to another so you hang up. Horrible
The Times ripping off its customers
The Times ripping off its customers.
Impossible to cancel once you subscribe. I waited 20 minutes in a queue, to be told by some rude woman that they wouldn't refund me. I have written to their customer services, and they don't reply.
Absolutely digusted by this.
Their behaviour is similar to timeshare ripoff agents. The Times have become SCAM artists. Unbelievable
Cannot cancel online or in writing
I only leave 1 star as I cannot leave 0 stars. Absolute fail from The Times. You cannot cancel without phoning and wasting time in a omnipotent queue. It's likely illegal to disallow valid cancelation methods. Do not touch with a barge pole.

Never ever subscribe
Never ever subscribe. Cancellation almost impossibe, deliberately so and very time consuming. I would pay good money never to have subsrcibed!!!
Do Not Sign Up!!!
Do Not Sign Up!!!! They make it so difficult to cancel and do not offer refunds when you do not cancel. I called to cancel a couple days before my monthly subscription was due to renew and the line cut off and when I called to get a refund following payment they were extremely pushy and refused flat out to give a refund. They are some of the worst customer service teams I have ever dealt with.
Do not subscribe
Do not subscribe - virtually impossible to cancel. I telephoned on many occasions, was put in a queue then phone cut off as I neared the front of the queue. I then emailed them but got no reply. I eventually got through today and was told that I am in contract until April and they would have to escalate it to a manager...I'm not holding my breath. Absolutely awful customer service.
Signed for the free digital trial
Signed for the free digital trial, don't do it because you'll have to ring to cancel the free trial. You can't do it online, and they'll try to sell you on more things or give you a discount. Waste of time.
Rude customer service
Rude customer service. It was a pain to cancel. Emailed them faced long queues on the phone. It was such a mistake to subscribe. I had no idea they will scam me like this. I was finally able to get it canceled today after losing some £52. They refused to refund which is totally unfair because they had made it so dfficult to cancel.
CANCELLATION IS DIFFICULT
DO NOT SIGN UP YOU CANNOT CANCEL!!!!
They sign you up with a free trial, but there is no way to cancel the trial unless you call up and wait in a never ending queue!!
ITS RIDICULOUS! If you can sign up online you should be able to cancel online too!

" Just to be sure to order before midnight 23rd November to guarantee a FREE bottle of Champagne"
Order arrived today...no champagne. Phoned and told, basically we ran out....
Offer of £20 off next order....I said no to this.
Got the £20 off this order...but I'm still not happy.
This is NOT what I expect from the Sunday Times wine club...
They clearly do not understand the word guarantee.. "Something that ensures a particular outcome."
I think I should report them to my local Trading Standards, and The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) who are the UK's regulator of advertising.
Very disgruntled customer.

Shame on you Sunday times for the biased reporting on Palestine . If only I could give you zero star rating.
Shame on you!
Underhand system to try and dissuade cancellations
Cancelled free trial subscription after deciding it wasn't for me. You have to phone up (tried by email but was made to call - not good for accessibility). Cue overlong conversation where I had to say 'no thanks - I want to cancel' multiple times before they finally actually processed the cancellation. Arcane cancellation system manned by pushy sales staff - feels very underhand.
Terrible journalism
Terrible journalism, impossible to cancel a subscription. It's supposed to be a reputable news outlet. It's papers like The Times that mean no-one trusts the media. Proper brain rot.

Don't cancel your subscription to The Times
Don't cancel your subscription to The Times and Sunday Times, you are put through to someone who keeps selling to you. When I eventually said I didn't need selling to I just wanted to cancel my subscription I was sulkily put on hold. When the agent came back guess what she sold to me again and again I had to say I just wished to cancel my subscription please, let's see what happens next.

I have to say this last edition of the Sunday Times (26/07) is one of the most pertinent and well researched I have ever seen. well done.
Retention Over Compassion
My mum seemed to have signed up with lots of Times things back in the day (wine, print vouchers etc.) She now has dementia and hasn't used these things for years but is still duly paying for them all. For example, over £30 a month for print vouchers for The Times, which she hasn't remembered to use, or understood what they are, for years. I called them to cancel her subscription, and they just didn't seem to understand or listen. They told me she'd never received any promotion and been a loyal customer for around 10 years, so they wanted to give her half price for three months. I just don't think they were listening to what I was saying, they were more interested in pushy sales and retention tactics. Her payment for the next month had gone out the day before, and they wouldn't even refund that as a good will gesture. Bear in mind that mum has been paying several hundred a year for this subscription for a decade, and has not bought any papers with them for years (nor does she use the internet).
Subscriptions like this seem to be a very bad idea for older people, and I guess a great idea for these companies to make money!
