I think you're referring to the option to cover the transaction fees which most people making a payment / donation do opt to cover, thus making it attractive to individuals and charities who are using Strikepay. Feedback from Strikepay users has been very positive overall around this option and thank you for your feedback also, but please remember if you get an opportunity to use Strikepay again in the future that you can opt out of the fees very easily. Hi Barry. Sorry to hear you had an issue.
The fastest and safest way to pay online is to use ApplePay or Google Pay. Most people use the ApplePay or GooglePay options (85%+). When you don't have those options available you need to provide your card details which are almost always stored in your phone browser settings (not with Strikepay). We do not store your card details deliberately, as these are one-off payments and we want to protect your privacy and security.
If this is your first time paying with a card, we do require that you have the full card details, including the CVV and complete a SCA compliant two-factor authentication. This is to protect you and all our customers. As we expand capability, we will look to improve the app for repeat tippers and payers.

No option to pay 10% never again …

I had a €30 bill and there is no option to pay 10% of the restaurant bill. The minimum amount is €5. Staff will have to do without a tip next time. I’m not paying over the odds!

We can help you leave a tip for €3.00 instead of €5.00. See contact details below...

There is an "Other amount" button. Next time, tap on "Other amount" and enter €3.00 and pay in a single screen. The staff have picked default values that meet the needs of most customers but sometimes those default amounts are not right. That's why we have the "Other amount" option. We also support percentage tipping but we leave that up to the venue to decide how best to work with their own customers.
