Same as the rest really- ordered and no money was taken however a month later tickets were attempted to be ordered, deliveroo orders and taxis ordered too. How has this site not been taken down???

I HAD TO GIVE A STAR TO LEAVE REVIEW.

I was unsure about placing an order for items that appeared "too good to be true"

Now having read the reviews posted HERE, and not going by the star rating on the website, I can see why I received this email:- BTW there is nothing wrong with my card, I do however have an excellent relationship with my bank.

My review is similar to all the others unfortunately. No payment taken, no books were delivered! However, this guy DID take my card details and within 2 weeks, there were fraudulent transactions on my account! My card was cancelled the same day I noticed the payments; 3 days later, a further fraudulent transaction was attempted, however this one failed due to the card being blocked. Do not go near this site! Not quite sure how he is getting away with it, if i’m honest; but he is!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Do not go near them. Didn’t receive the item then fraudulent activity on my account a month later.
There were 5 star good reviews when I ordered and they have since disappeared to 1 stars similar reviews to this one.

3 failed transactions for orders in November then a call from my bank 2 days before Christmas to say card used fraudulently. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Same as everyone else. I bought a book from this company and they emailed me to say the book had been damaged and would be delayed.
No book ever arrived and the link to log into my account with them did not work. One week later, £145 purchase was made to an Ugg boot store from my account at 12am. Luckily my bank blocked this transaction.
My Netflix account has also been hacked and they have changed my password.

This website is a SCAM.

Same as all the other reviews. No books, no answer to email asking where books are - which were Christmas presents for children. Have cancelled my card as a precaution given the horror stories on here and reported

I cannot understand why this site has not been closed down by now.

Used this site for 2 books, received email that said card had been declined. I knew it was an ok card so there should not have been a problem.
after about 10 days my card was used for limousine hire , and tried just eat but, luckily I had cancelled my card with bank and now have closed my account.
Wish I had checked trust pilot first.

How are these still up and running!??? not a real store, utter scam to get card details!

I've had exactly the same experience as everyone else. I ordered a book, received an email confirmation but no book. I emailed them three times, then read the reviews about the company. I cancelled my card and thankfully they haven't taken any money from my account.

DO NOT USE. Ordered books for my niece which never showed. Total scam, hopefully these guys get what is coming to them

I was convinced I had ordered once at the end of November but on checking the site there was no record and no transaction in my bank! I blamed baby brain so preferred again and this time had a confirmation email. Two days later I was contacted by my bank as I’d had fraud on my card and it had been used for multiple
Purchases. I did t connect the dots until I checked the order page today having not received the book to see it was still payment pending. I then read all
These reviews!!!!!!!! Thankfully my card was cancelled due to the fraud so they can’t take the payment or anymore but I am fully convinced it’s originated on this site now!!! Could kick myself really but thankfully money was refunded by bank and my card has been cancelled. Please don’t fall into this trap it’s a nightmare having no card before Xmas. I’ve changed all the passwords on any accounts like
Amazon, eBay, Apple etc

I ordered from Smyths books and didn’t receive the goods. My account said that I had no order and my order acknowledgment email didn’t seem very professional on reflection. I checked them out on the companies house site, the company hasn’t been running very long. After reading other negative reviews I made the decision to cancel my bank card as well as my order.

DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE - same as all the reviews, took my order, no book, contacted them-no answer then I started getting fradulent activity on my card. This company has been reported to the relevant organistation. STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS SCAMING COMPANY

I've just had to cancel my card (which is very annoying a week before Xmas!) as they tried to use the details to make a purchase worth £450. Luckily the bank declined the payment and contacted me. I'm pretty sure Smyths are responsible as I usually make payments through Paypal but they didn't offer that payment method on their website. I'm going to report them. Scumbags!!

took my card details and no book ever posted on 2 occasions, DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES - sent complaint email and no response received.

Placed order 9 days ago for a book. Online account created (by them) has never showed that I have an order outstanding. No phone number or any way of contacting them apart from an email form on the website and the email address of the order acknowledgement. Emails (about 8 in the last 2 days) are not acknowledged and go unanswered. This company deserve zero stars. I wish I had consulted Trustpilot before dealing with these time wasters.

Ordered book, got email saying problem from supplier (damage or something along those lines). Few weeks later nothing taken from bank so thought nothing of it (still at back of my mind even though purchased the book elsewhere anyway). To have got informed of fraudulent activity on my account. Luckily the bank had froze these purchases. Had tried using my details at william hill, voucher express and a few others. Pending payment for their internet bill also but has been stopped and refunded. Horrible people out there at this time of year. After reading all these reviews i dont know why the website is still active! Con men out to rob people and worst part alot of the books being kids books! Hope it gets removed asap!

AVOID! wish seen this before hand.

Shortly after placing an order with Smyths Ltd (Hull) in September, received a call from our bank (later found to be bogus)which led to fraudsters removing more than £17,000 from our account. Have good reason to believe that Smyths was behind this. Reported incident to Action Fraud and to our bank, who have just recovered the money and returned it to our bank account. We are very lucky! To everyone else we would say--please do not have anything to do with Smyths.You will live to regret it !
