Nearly perfect laptop for my need
I was looking for a good AMD Ryzen based linux laptop that can let me code and compile my code on the move. I started exploring thinkpads, ideapads, XPS etc. Since my default desktop is KDE on ubuntu 20.04, KDE neon has been my choice of distro. While browsing the KDE neon site, I came across the KDE Slimbook 15. It ticked all the boxes for me and purchased one immediately and got the delivery in 15 days.
The laptop is sturdy, very light weight for a 15.6 inch screen. Excellent keyboard strokes. The 92watt battery gives me about 8-10 hours of coding, compiling and watching videos and fan rarely kicks.
Only drawback I see is that the keyboard letters aren't visible at certian angle and the backlit timing can't be controlled.

Honestidad, sentido común y empatía con sus clientes
Tengo un portátil Pro X 15 y estoy encantado con él. Buenos componentes a un precio razonable y un posicionamiento de honestidad y claridad.
A nivel postventa, sencillamente excelente: una gestión humana y empática, además de mucho sentido común. Primero de todo, siempre hablo con personas humanas que me responden como tal, en lugar de seguir un guión o un proceso estándar. Y segundo, aplican un sentido común con el que me siento muy cómodo. Ninguna de las grandes marcas me permitiría abrir yo mismo el portátil sin perder la garantía. Pero Slimbook sí lo hace porque me tratan como adulto responsable que toma sus decisiones y asume sus riesgos. Y gracias a eso he podido cambiar yo mismo la tarjeta de red.
Muy contento y espero que sigan vendiendo bien y creciendo.

wonderful direction - but still there is room to grow and improve
I really, really REALLY love the diverse hardware offerings. your top-end laptops's specs are very well thought of. the pricing is not cheap but not too excessive either.
Your service personnel are AWESOME! super nice and helpful, and are clearly profficient.
I have some criticism regarding the website itself and its user experience but it's a sign of a young small company with lots of room to grow and improve, and I wish you to keep going successfully in the right direction as your business matures and grows.

Servicio técnico de 10
He tenido un problema con la batería de un Slimbook que estaba fuera de garantía.
El trato y la solución del servicio técnico es, simplemente, de 10. Fueron muy rápidos y me ofrecieron una solución a la que, al estar fuera de garantía, no estaban obligados.
Estaba convencido de que los Slimbook eran la mejor opción para trabajar con Linux y ahora, conociendo su servicio técnico, será difícil que cambie de marca.

Excellent technical service
Excelente servicio técnico, muy amable y rápido en los trámites, se nota que los que atienden saben de lo que hablan, no son la típica empresa donde un comerciante te contesta las dudas, sino que realmente es un experto o un muy bien entendido sobre la materia el que responde a las dudas, aconseja y explica porqué te iría bien un producto u otro independientemente del precio para aprovechar al máximo el potencial de tu ordenador.
Esta empresa se distingue de las demás por el trato cercano con el cliente, ya que intentan facilitar muchísimo las cosas y entienden la importancia de un cliente satisfecho a diferencia de las grandes multinacionales donde todo va bien hasta que tienes un problema (ejem Asus, MSI,...).
Diseños elegantes y muy buena relación calidad / precio.

Good laptops, terrible Quality Control
Ordered a laptop which came with a whole lot of problems:
* Keyboard keys not fully transparent
* Ethernet port not working
* Irregular WiFi issues
These things happen, when I reached out to Slimbook they told me in a polite manner to address these minor issues myself and try reinstalling the OS (for which there is no disc).
If you receive an uncooked meal is it the right approach to be told to just cook it yourself?

We are really sorry to see that our after sales service didn't met your standards. We always try to offer a solution for any issues that could show up to the best of our abilities, but due to the nature of the GNU/Linux based OS's there will always be some problems that will be out of reach for us no matter how hard we try to fix them.
As you may be aware of, we have no control over what updates are pushed by the developers of all Linux distributions out there. Those may break things every now and then, specially major Kernel updates that may come with newer yet not better firmware that might cause problems for all hardware devices.
You didn't get a half cooked meal at all, GNU/Linux is a constantly evolving system that requires their users to have some knowledge of its innards and small maintenance every now and then to keep everything in shape and working smoothly.
Either way, we want to apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with the networking system of the device before the system updates solved them again. We will stay alert and keep track of these kind of issues faster and more efficiently so that no customer has to deal with these at all.
Excellent value for money
Must be the best place to buy a Linux laptop... if you are not in a hurry to get it! Mine took two months to arrive. It was, however, well worth the wait. The whole process, from designing the machine exactly to my specs to getting it delivered to my door went very smoothly, thanks to their excellent website, and I got a very well built machine for significantly less than what I would have paid Dell for a machine of similar specs.
Highly recommended...

Eigentlich eine 4,5 für das Slimbook Pro X
Eigentlich eine 4,5.
Wer Linux als Desktop-Betriebssystem ohne Kompromisse einsetzen will, dem sei das Slimbook Pro X ans Herz gelegt: Anders als bei "uminstallierten" Windows-Notebooks funktioniert hier alles out-of-the-box, auch "Schnickschnack", wie Sondertasten für Lautstärke Bildschirmhelligkeit, etc.
Hardware-technisch bietet Slimbook eine große und sinnvolle Variationsbreite bei der Konfiguration. Das gilt auch für die Betriebssysteme: Verschiedene Linux-Distros können ab Werk vorkonfiguriert werden. Abweichende Distros müssen selbst installiert werden, hier bietet das Unternehmen aber seine Hilfe an. Die zweite Grafikkarte (nvidia) funktioniert erstaunlicher Weise völlig problemlos, wenngleich ich nur die erste (Intel) nutze, da ich nvidia und ATI unter Linux immer noch nicht so richtig über den Weg traue.
Besonders hevorzuheben ist die Slimbook-eigene Energiespar-App "slimbook battery", die auch ohne Slimbook für viele Distros installiert werden kann. Sie sorgt zuverlässig für lange Akku-Laufzeiten oder - wenn man es mal benötigt - für die volle CPU-Power.
Den Punktabzug von der 5 gibt es für zwei Kontras:
- Den Rechtsklick des Touchpads zu treffen, erfordert etwas Übung (hin und wieder macht man versehentlich einen Linksklick). Mit Maus erübrigt sich das allerdings.
- Das offenbar sehr gute und rege genutzte Kundenforum bietet leider nur wenige englische Beiträge. Die meisten sind in Spanisch verfasst. Der Google-Übersetzer hilft zwar, das ist aber natürlich recht mühsam.
