Great company lots of choice and helpful staff in store

I have been buying a lot of tools recently from Screwfix. Very disappointed with the company as they state they will price match or refund the difference. I was recently in the little Island store in Cork. I was looking to purchase a dewalt colated screw gun.I informed the staff member they charged €508 for this item and chadwicks were charging €330 for the same item which showed to be in stock. she informed me she would not be able to price match. As she may get in trouble.I returned again today to buy other items. I Casually mentioned it to the same person again as she was serving me. and she completely ignored me .No satisfactory explanation .Completely disappointed.

Ordered 1 box of screws and 3 days later still not ready for collection. The service from screwfix is appalling. This is why I very seldom order from these.

Bought electric chain saw with a two year guarntee.Bought it in May 23 only got to Roscommon Screwfix to-day .The chain keeps falling off but I was told it looked used and if I hadnt filled in the paper work the guarntee had lapsed
Desperate poor service/backup

Took details of my cordless grass strimmer to the Merthyr Tydfil store!
Despite this they gave me 2.4 striimer line instead of 1.6!
Got Home and discovered error!
Most annoying, however NICOLE in Customer Service dealt with my complaint very professionally and gave me £20 credit for my next purchase!
Very pleased, perhaps in future the Merthyr branch will be more attentive to Cystmers orders!

Shopped with screwfix over the past 3 years, Dundalk and now mainly the Drogheda store. Great service and helpful friendly staff that go above and beyond. The online catalogue is handy to use with loads of choice and good prices. Iv had faulty products and they exchanged without any hassle. Never had any issue with screwfix highly recommend

Wish I’d read the reviews first. Awful company to deal with. Unbelievably complicated to order something and couldn’t end up making the purchase yet they took €769 from my credit card and then said they couldn’t refund until they shipped the product from the UK to Ireland and it landed in the store and will take 7-10 days to refund. Never again. Avoid at all cost!

My father required another holder for his shower head both of us are unable to drive. We ordered a holder online as the store didn’t show one in stock. The email I received stated it should arrive in store the following day . Also don’t go into the store until you get a text that it’s arrived for collection. After two days no text ? I have to walk 6.5 to collect it so I’d chase it up online. I clicked on the live chat and I was told it had already arrived. The person Christopher said they had a computer problem so unable to text. My response was well I actually am customer facing and I use a phone to update them. So in all disappointed as usually a good brand !! I was asked to review Screwfix by themselves but was denied as it was a positive review!! That shows you they only post positive reviews.

I spent €1200 on a de Walt power tool kit. The drill went faulty which can happen.
Their solution was to give back the whole kit and wait for a replacement so I couldn’t work for the week as I explained or buy a whole new kit and use that while they replaced the other kit.
Ridiculous solutions and really poor customer service

I should have checked the ratings before buying from screwfix. Over 50% 1 star rating …

My item never reached me, I emailed and send a FB message which they did reply eventually on messenger but the courier company that I reached out later was quicker to respond and gave me an update.

And when I did hear from Screwfix… they still didn’t know what happened to the consignment pushing it back to the courier. Very poor customer service but quick to take your money. No more buying online from screw fix for me. I don’t trust them. I just hope that they will pay me back and hopefully someone else won’t make the mistake I did buying online from them. Avoid this company.

Edited Update: I was told that as soon as they get the item back from the courier only then I will get the refund, but this has nothing to do with me and its between screwfix and the courier. How is that fair to the consumer?

Edit Update: After me being a bit of a nuisance to the company, I received this reply. So I’m glad I will be getting my money back after kicking a fuss.

“We normally require the item back before we can issue a refund. However, on this occasion, I will issue a refund now back to your card. Please be advised that your bank may take 3-5 working days to process this before the funds show back in your account. - Alice”

Very poor service and store is badly laid out

Today morning I bought dewalt grinder in store Dublin 12 , I pay 271€ and few hrs later when I check my bank account the show me Screwfix take 327€ , how is possible they to frauds like this and the told me it’s problem with system and now they don’t know what to do 🙈…. So my advise to other customers don’t pay by card , only cash

I bought a Respirator with 3 disposable masks some time ago, as I was doing an attic insulation job in my own home. I use the last mask that came with the respirator recently, so today I went to Screwfix in Kilkenny to buy replacement masks, to be told they don't stock the masks. I was given the Screwfix Customer Service number in the shop, which I rang immediately. The person in the shop told me the replacement masks we available on Amazon. I told this to the Customer Service Person, and his suggestion was, get them myself on Amazon. I explained I never used Amazon, and asked Screwfix how they could advertise a product and then not carry the filters. The gentleman said its the same as Tesco, if you bought a mop, you wont get the replacements mop heads there!!! Up to now, I had put Screwfix a few steps above Tesco as an equipment provider, but how wrong was I!? They offered me a €5 goodwill voucher, which naturally I refused.

Had a problem with a delivery but my bad, it took me over a month to get on to Screwfix about it. I emailed and within an hour I had an email acknowledging the query and a really nice lady rang me the following morning and sorted everything out - no questions asked. Really blown away by the service.

Waterford store have amazing customer service. Been there several times and always great service.

Walked in to by a bolt. The guy asked me my address which I gave him, then he asked me for my previous address as he couldn’t find me on their system. I wasn’t expecting to be asked this and couldn’t recall my last postcode, he then remarked that I must have moved around a lot and said he needed this in order to give me a receipt. Is this some kind of joke ? As well as this, I’m asked for my full name, addresses, and email address whilst surrounded by other customers and shop staff. One star is too much. Appalling way to treat customers - never shopping at screw fix again

Bought an Aqualisa shower. Plumber came to fit. Not can do he said, UK and IE are not the same, took it back and they refunded me....complete waste of time, surely it doesn't take me to point this out to them.

Straight in, straight out as they have no catalogues and the tablets they had where not working, made my purchase elsewhere.
