I requested a quote to replace the windshield on my vehicle. I was given a turnkey price and confirmed the details for service at my residence. I received a confirmation text message with a price, and based on that quote I scheduled the appointment. When I went online to pay the invoice within the service window, the price had been increased over the quote significantly. When I called to resolve it, they simply stated they had not included all the charges in the quote provided. Kinda defeats the purpose of getting a quote. Service cancelled. Very unethical. I wont be using them again going forward.

My SAFELITE Journey
Tech, ALFONSO was outstanding! he walked me thru what he was doing, how long it would take and what to expect. He cleared the broken glass and reattached the solar antenna to the quarter panel passenger side window.
My JOURNEY started on 5/21/2025 when my truck was broken into. My insurance company sent me to Safelite to have the quarter panel passenger window replaced. I was told 5/24/2025, Didn't happen, next date 6/10/2025, NOPE. Then 6/16/2025 NOPE, Then 7/18/2025, I found and emailed the CEO at Safelite to get some answers. I received a call back and was told they would look into it and take care of it. Then I was given a 7/3/2025 date, NOPE. Next date 7/8/2025 @ 12:30 PM. FINALLY window is replaced. The arrogance and attitude of those I spoke with over the phone and in person was just unprofessional, no explanation for the huge delay. Upon arriving at the Jamaica Ave location it was as if I was disturbing quiet time. HELLO, people you're at WORK.
I hope this never happens again but I will not be going there again.

Unreliable Service
The last two weekends, I had an 8:00 AM–12:00 PM appointment scheduled to have my windshield replaced. Last weekend, the representative called around 8:15 AM on the day of the appointment to inform me that the glass they received was broken and that they needed to reschedule.
Today, the representative called again around 8:15 AM to inform me that my appointment had to be rescheduled because they had not received the replacement glass. I asked why there isn’t a pre-check process to avoid canceling appointments at the last minute. The representative explained that shipments don’t arrive until Friday nights between 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM, and there’s no way for them to forecast these issues.
Frustrated, I decided to call around for a more reliable company—and I found one! Not only were they $200 cheaper, but they also offered a $50 military discount and guaranteed my appointment for next weekend.
It’s perplexing how some businesses operate with such poor reliability, inflated prices, and subpar customer service—and still expect consumers to accept that as the norm.
Do not pay for nor accept bad services.

Confirmation overkill
I haven't had the work done yet for my appointment so I can't critique the actual work. What I can comment on is the amount of times that Safelite has contacted me to confirm my appointment. Email, Text and the next day after the text confirmation I receive a phone call to confirm the appointment and the tech states he will be contacting me two days from now to confirm yet again. (Overkill) and annoying Safelite

Do not go here! They charge you thousands without even looking at the car. First rainstorm I had water all over my dash and ran through to the bottom. Pools of water in the coin tray.

Too hard to contact the local Safelite , going through national call center just sucks. I was charged $75 for attics home service when actually I had to take mt F350 to Fond du lac because my real window of my truck required in shop replacment ad it takes 2 techs to install and lot of added prep work. I was also charged an additional $40 to (recycle) the remainder if my back window that was not broke. They threw that glass into their regular trash dumpster. My tech called me the morning of my at home appt to inform me that he couldn't do it in the field but we made arrangements for me to drive my truck the 30 miles to their shop so the work could still get done. Once at their shop, they allowed me to come in and remove my temp weather proof plastic cover that I had to install due to the amount of rain Wisconsin was recieving in the month of June. The Dist Manager even helped me remove the adhesive residue so that when the tech got back to the shop he could start on my window. I really appreciated that. My tech was great but there were a few hiccups. The black priming stuff they pun on the metal before the black caulk ended up running down over the white paint around the window, and the black caulk mutts out past the outer edge of the privacy tinted glass. Really sticks out when you look at it. Worst of all, i spent over $100 buying lumber to build a structure to ensure that in the event of rain in the middle of the window replacment as the instructions stated that I had to provide, and they never came to my house
Unethical and Inadequate Windshield Repair - Poor Customer Service Experience
I am writing to formally raise a complaint concerning the service provided to my 19-year-old son in relation to a windshield repair conducted in June 2024.
In February 2024, my son purchased a vehicle that had a minor, very small crack in the windshield. On June 18, 2024, after saving enough money and experiencing no immediate issues with the crack, he contacted Safelite to have the crack repaired proactively before it could worsen. A technician was sent to our residence to perform the repair.
However, within ten days—by June 28—the crack had significantly worsened, now requiring a full windshield replacement. Upon reviewing our home security footage, it appears that the technician applied repair material to only one side of the crack, while the other side was left untreated and subsequently spread.
When we contacted Safelite regarding this issue, we were met with dismissive and rude responses. The company refused to offer any credit or compensation, asserting that the crack was already compromised prior to the repair. Instead, they attempted to upsell my son a new windshield replacement.
My son is young and still learning about vehicle maintenance, and this experience raises serious ethical concerns. It appears that the technician did not perform the repair properly, potentially with the intent to necessitate a costly replacement. This practice seems predatory and unethical.
My son is currently saving to replace the windshield, but we want to make it clear that if further damage occurs as a result of this inadequate repair, we will consider pursuing legal action.
wow, safe flight just confirmed that they are an unethical company. just look at their reply they are admitting that they will not give a refund but will then try to sell you a new windshield and put that refund to the glasd they destroyed to the new windshield. WOW 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 DO NOT USE them. again, we had no problems with this crack for over four months and 10 days after Safelite touched our glass. It is now destroyed. wow

My 82 year old father left hanging
My 82 year old father tried to use their service today. A tech was supposed to arrive at his house to replace his front windshield-- as is depicted in your TV ads. The tech never arrived. According to the dispatcher my father spoke to when the tech didn't arrive, the tech showed up but the van wasn't there (this is bs. The van never moved). When my father asked why the tech didn't call him the dispatcher said that she had called him but my father-- who lives in the year 2025 and has a phone that records the numbers of incoming calls-- pointed out that there was no call from the dispatcher. So, that's two lies: the van was there, the dispatcher didn't call him. It appears that what happened was either the tech showed up and left or, my guess, never showed up at all. If the tech DID show up then Safelite should amend its ads to say the customer must be standing near or sitting in the vehicle-- even if it's parked at their residence-- when the tech arrives on scene or said tech will leave. Granted, my dad is 82, it's very hot today and he just had a knee replacement a couple of weeks ago but, hey, if that's their policy, fine. But they'd better include it in their ads because if they don't, and what happened today happens to other customers, their ads are fraudulent. Folks should know that despite their ad campaign, their actual policy is to make infirmed senior citizens bake in hot, summer weather for hours at a time in order to get the service they make seem so utterly easy and foolproof in their fake and fraudulent ads. Corporate, the tech, and the dispatcher should be ashamed of themselves for their utter lack of professionalism and I hope anyone reading this takes heed and steers away from your company and to a better, honest one.

Safelite has lost continuity on how to deal with their customers. Horrible service before the repair. Stopped in to make the appointment. They called later and said they couldn't verify insurance. I made calls to Safelite and was put into a complex phone tree system even though I called the local number. Spent time on the phone with my insurance agent the next day to get verification, printed the verification, went to my appointment and was told I had to pay and get reimbursed by my insurance company. Called my insurance agent back and she said that was nonsense, and they should have billed the insurance directly. So I cancelled the repair and will go somewhere else. The only reason I gave a "2" rating is because the workers in the shop probably do a fine job, but the customer service up front was so poor that I would give that a "1" rating by itself. You are a large company and probably think you can afford to lose customers like me, but it will catch up with you eventually. I have another SUV that needs a replacement windshield, but won't be going to Satellite.

This was the worst experience of my life. They replaced my windshield with a thinner windshield and within one week it was dented again. They talk about a warranty and if anything goes wrong, you can go back but when something does go wrong there’s nobody there to help you do not use Safelite ever they are horrible
What a difference a year makes
I tried to work with Safelite a year ago, and the process didn't go well - what a difference in a year - good job Safelite for improving your application process. The online aspect is much better now, and the tech called in advance, showed up timely, and did a great job. There is still some room for improvement, but a year ago I would not have given them a single star.
I would give the local Safelite store…
I would give the local Safelite store in WRJct Vt a zero if I could. We are now on our 3rd windshield replacement from the initial broken one. The 1st replacement had a 4 inch scratch in it. The tech came onsite to correct it but had no material to try and buff it out. We left our car for the day for a new windshield. When we picked it up the glass was covered in handprints and suction cup marks because they never cleaned it. Two days later, the new windshield leaked during a rain shower so we are now back for a third attempt to get it right. Our insurance company shows them as an approved supplier. I wouldn't take a golf cart there.

Technician never showed
Technician never showed. I cancelled my own appts and waited 5 hours. No one bothered to let me know they wouldn’t be out. I believe they were sent out from the Union City, Georgia shop. Interestingly the phone numbers for individual stores are not listed—you can’t reach them. Terrible customer service.

Horrible experience
Tree limb fell end-first into the windshield, without damaging the rest of the car. Insurance company wanted to send Safelite rather than tow the car to the local autoglass place. I said okay because it was convenient for me.
I was curious so I watched the technician get started, and asked a few questions - he told me he was fine with talking while working. He acted totally confident and told me he had reached "master" level. I watched him start by taking pictures of my windshield from all angles - including a view from the roof down to the wipers, on both sides. When he got to the point of removing the cowl, I was standing right there as he literally YANKED the two halves off. He paid no attention to what tabs or clips might get broken. He paid no attention to the weatherstrip part of the cowl where it rests against the glass. Just yanked them off. I thought nothing of it at the time - that is until I looked at the finished job and saw 1/4" gaps between the cowl and windshield, and the weatherstrip part of the cowl completely damaged. He tried telling me that the gaps were already there. First lie. After the damage, I had taped plastic over the broken glass, carefully aligning the duct tape with the edge of the windshield to keep it off of the car body. I had gone around the windshield with the tape - and my eyes were inches away from it. He told me he would check his photos to prove it, then messaged back that he had missed getting that angle. Second lie. So I took it upon myself to investigate the problem with the cowl gap and learned that there are tabs that need to catch to pull the cowl down tight against the windshield. Again I emphasize that the technician yanked - ripped - the cowl halves off of the car. He told me he would look at it when he comes back (the job wasn't completed on the first trip because he was missing the tool he needed to replace the side trim). But he kept delaying the trip back. Finally I demanded that they send out a different tech to finish the job. The second tech got one of the tabs to catch, but said the other one is gone. Sucks to be me, right?
There is no excuse for this. I don't care if the car is 25 yrs old. I don't care if the gap and the now ugly cowl seal is "just cosmetic". I trusted you people to repair my car and not make it look older than it is. Could I replace the cowl? Yes. Why do you expect me to pay for that?
Never again, Safelite, never again.
Safelite Tech A No-Show/No-Call
Safelite made the appointment for June 7, sent several emails confirming/reminding me of the date, and never showed up. The tech called at 8:14 a.m. on the day of the appointment, said he'd be there in a while (he was 30 miles away), and never called again or showed up. I am so done with Safelite and its unprofessional way of doing things. I will change my insurance and get one that does not use Safelite when this insurance period expires.
