location in Winchester va is awful. i have full video of their techs and the "manager" of them lying. I have to give SafeLite a 1 just to write this which I believe is too high. We had a windshield installed on our Honda Accord and after a few months into winter we started having moisture getting into the vehicle. We called and scheduled a “technician” come out. To say he was a technician is unfair to those with that title. He showed up and my wife told him what was happening. He inspected and said everything looks good and there was nothing to be done. No pressure water testing…. Taking it to car wash would have done since there is absolutely a leak. But he didn’t. She kept telling him there was a leak and he got short tempered and called her an idiot. My wife is a very sweet girl and I am glad that I wasn’t standing there otherwise things would have escalated quickly. They never fixed their bad installation and we will never go back to them. A few months after this happened my Brother had a rear window in his truck replaced and the same thing happened to him. He is very different from my wife. He was aggressive and didn’t take no for an answer. After they reinstalled it 4 times, they finally got his right. I am very disappointed with them as a company I can trust to do their work correct the first time and treat my wife with respect when all she did was explain that it leaks after having a new windshield installed. They will never see another dime from me or my insurance company on any window replacement or repair. I called and left a complaint and heard nothing back from them. I thought it was a rarity and it was just the location we went to, but then it happened to my brother that lives in another state. Do Not Use SafeLite for your windshield replacement and repairs!!
I haven’t been around and didn’t realize this is what happened until months after her experience and seeing what happened to my brother a few months later.

Now I have a large crack
I had a small stone chip, less than 1/8 in, front windshield, you could hardly see it. The technician shows up looking very unprofessional, many ropes and chains hanging from her pants which she then laid up against my vehicle. Repair made and now I have 3, 2 1/2 long cracks and the chip is more noticeable than before. technician stated that sometime the machine they use with its high pressure cracks the windshield. They know this will happen. I’m sure I’ll have to replace the windshield soon but will NOT go to Safelite.

Safelite installed an aftermarket windshield on my 2013 Mustang without even offering the OEM option. My car is valued at $15K–$19K, and I would’ve gladly paid more for the proper part if someone had just confirmed it. But they assumed I wouldn’t want it—based on the car’s age or maybe how I paid—and never gave me a choice.
I tried to get the issue corrected. I scheduled a follow-up between 12–5 PM, but the tech showed up early, left, and then claimed I wasn’t available. I called back just 15 minutes later at 12:07 PM, and he was already gone. No second attempt, no follow-through. When I checked later, I found out my appointment had been deleted from the system entirely.
I had to reschedule for another week due to my work schedule. This has delayed the sale of my vehicle, cost me time, and left me completely frustrated. I couldn’t even leave a voicemail because the technician’s inbox was full. I’ve filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Ohio Attorney General, and also left public reviews.
I expected better from a national brand. This was unprofessional from start to finish. Do better. This wasn’t just an inconvenience—it was disrespectful.

Had my windshield replaced and the top…
Had my windshield replaced and the top molding is not installed correctly, it's tucked under in places all across. Went back to the store and was first told there's nothing they can do about it. I got a little demanding and some else came out and yes they have to replace the shield again. Manager was to call me never did, got ahold of customer service "cuss enough and you will get a person" still no solution. Very poor workmanship and customer sercive.

Complete waste of time!
I brought in my 2005 Mercedes SLK-350 that I was restoring and I noticed a crack in my windshield. I made an appointment and brought them my vehicle. I got a call less than a half hour later telling me that they cannot put my windshield in because the top has to work properly. I looked it up & you do not have to have the top functional to replace the windshield. They had a bunch of vehicles they were working on & I think they just didn’t want to do it! Save yourself the anguish and go elsewhere!

It’s been 7 days and they still haven’t called me back replaced my windshield and put on new wipers wipers got hung broke one not only did it break the wiper but half the mechanism.. they promised to call me back nothing crickets I had to pay 73 bucks for broke wipers .. I would not recommend this place not customer friendly at all go somewhere else ..

Terrible experience
Terrible experience. My technician never showed up the first day. I was rescheduled for two days later and no one called it showed up. Customer service couldn’t help. The local shop never answered. When I did speak with someone it was the manager and she let me know I was the first appointment. Still no one ever called or showed up. I received an email that I was rescheduled a third time and still no one called it showed up. Finally the fourth time of reschedule some called me out of the blue saying they were 15 minutes away. By that time almost a week had gone by with no
Communication and I had already scheduled with a local dealer. Do not waste your time with safelite. Go to a local dealer.

Negligence of Safelite cost me a lot of money...
I've used Safelite several times in the past and never had a problem with service. Unfortunately my most recent experience was not the same. I called last Tuesday (4/29/2025) and spoke to a representative about a quote for a windshield repair for a crack about the size of a nickel. I wasn't able to get the quote online as my year/make/model was not in the system and the representative on the phone said that they could not give me a quote for the same reason. They forwarded my case to another team and said I would get a call from them. I followed up on Friday (5/2) as I hadn't heard anything. The representative said I would hear something in 48 hours (it had already been 48 hours) and I asked if that included Saturdays to which they confirmed it did. On Thursday 5/8 I called back as I still had not received a phone call. This time the representative told me that my case had been deleted from the system as the "part could not be found". Sadly, the crack has grown to probably six inches now and a replacement will cost $1300-$1700. The negligence and poor communication of Safelite has likely cost me a lot of money. This experience was bad enough that I will not consider using Safelite again for glass repair/replacement. I will say that all of the reps on the phone were nice and professional. UPDATE: The windshield replacement will now cost me $2100. Thank you Safelite!

No show, No Notification.
I had an appointment, confirmed by text, and did everything asked of me. The morning of, I also received a confirmation. After a week of waiting, and receiving confirmation the morning of, they did not show up for the appointment. I called to find out that they put in a note to cancel my appointment but never did. They did not want to go to the trouble of sourcing glass for my EV. If the part is not available, do NOT lead a customer on and then just no show on an appointment. I had to borrow a car for a week because i could not drive mine due to water intrusion/rainy conditions. Now i have to wait another week to obtain glass from a different provider. I've used safelite in the past but will never use them again!

Shady, incompetent and unreliable
Do yourself a favor and find a local shop. This company is out of touch and incompetent.
If I could give this a negative rating I would.
-I needed my windshield replaced and went through my insurance to schedule an appointment…which was cancelled due to the glass for my car being broken on transit and that they ordered a new one and would call to reschedule, never did.
-rescheduled the appointment and took a half day of work to make it. Called all day trying to get someone from the shop to confirm the glass was in. Was never able to confirm this until the appointment time and they said it was not in yet.
-rescheduled again, this time they assured me the glass was in and so I took another half day of work and went to the appointment. They started my car and I waited in the lobby only for them to come out and tell me that the glass isn’t in AGAIN.
-rescheduled A FOURTH TIME for a Saturday. At this time I’m driving an uninspected vehicle because I have not been able to get the glass repaired in time to update and pass inspection. But they did finally have the glass in. Got the service done finally and was given a discount for inconvenience.
-IMMEDIATELY UPON LEAVING THE STORE THEY CHARGED NY CARD FOR THE AMOUNT THEY DISCOUNTED.
-Now, I am left trying to call their terrible customer service and wait for their non response store manager to call me back to fix this situation. I am a single mom and the amount of the discount was calculated back into my expenses so this significantly impacted my finances this month. I N working with my bank to charge back the full amount because of how awful and inconvenient this entire service has been. Truly shady business

Safelight Customer Service and ability to speak to a live person is impossible. They continually screw up and can never seem to get scheduling an appointment right.
They cancelled it and I had to go through whole miserable process again.

Terrible Website, Tried multiple times to enter my payment information just to be greeted with a "Time out for security reasons". Changed it to pay at time of appointment and tried to enter my card after that and it still would not let me. Told me to wait 15 minutes and try again over and over. Also Be careful when putting in promos and what service you select. I got a hidden upcharge one of the times I filled out my info. Went from $304 to $398. Luckly on my third attempt I got it back down to $304

Their website says make an appointment and get it fixed guaranteed. Well I put my vehicle info in to have my side window repaired. Thankfully I didn't pay for the quote and my appointment was scheduled 3 business days out. I'm coming from a rural area so I checked my messages to be sure before I left since I had 3 hours to drive. There was a message from the safelite dealer asking for my vin number on my vehicle as supposedly he could not locate my "part." Said he would call back after doing research but that my appointment was cancelled since he couldn't locate it for a 2001 Hyundai. He never called back and when I called the following day to follow up but he left me on hold. I hung up but he never called back. Nice guarantee Safelite. It's a good thing I checked my messages otherwise I would have been stuck with wasting six hours for my drive time. And out the money if I'd paid in advance. Not happy at all.

Safelite No Longer Gets My Business
I booked an appointment to replace glass on a 1970 Camaro. The appointment was to be 4/30/25. I booked online using Safelite website and selected the year and model of vehicle directly from the site. I received a call moments ago that stated that "we do not service cars that old." Very matter of fact and very rude. If you don't service that age of vehicle, it needs not to be an option on your website! And then, waiting until the day before to let me know. Now I have to start the process over again and delay this glass replacement. Absolutely a horrible representation for a company that prides itself on being the best. Terrible customer experience.

Doubled the price hours before an appointment
First they tell me I need to pay $500 for a windshield replcement. Then hours before my appointment they want over $1,000? They can forget that. I don't play those games.

Bait and switch
I’m extremely disappointed with Safelite. I was scheduled for service and quoted a price that included tax, along with a $50 discount—which made it seem like a fair deal. But when it came time to pay, I was suddenly upcharged over $60 with no clear explanation.
I was told, "We don’t know if there is or isn’t a recycling charge." Really? How do you not know what fees you're charging customers? That’s unacceptable. This feels like a bait and switch, and it left a bad taste.
If transparency and honesty in pricing matter to you, think twice before using Safelite. I expected better.

Yesterday, the passenger side front glass exploded out of the window. I immediately called my insurance company, who guided me to Safelite. My deductible is $495.00, and the price Safelite showed without taxes, was $388.80.
Surprise! There is a $39.99 recycling fee for the glass. We have already cleaned up 80% of the glass at least. I am sure there is some stuck on the door panel, but it can not be much.
When I asked the technician, Alex (who is a really nice guy and great tech), he said it was a fee negotiated with the insurance company. If I wanted to do it without the insurance negotiated price, it would be more.
I went online to Safelite, put all my info in, and it came up the same price. Including the recycling fee. No negotiated discount.
I then called Juan, the McAllen Safelite manager. He told me the same thing Alex told me.Alex was just repeating what he had been told.
I shared that was incorrect info as I had done my homework and knew what the price was. He did not say one word.
I asked him to remove the recycling fee as there was not anything to recycle. He then said that it was for vacuuming the glass out between the door panels.
This is a deceptive practice. First, I am told it is a negotiated price, then I find out that is not true. I am also going to send this information to the better business bureau. I understand a recycling fee if there is something to recycle.
I am going to share this review as many places as I can. I was charged for a service I did not receive.
