Check in and orientation were good . The checkout was a bit chaotic. Boats had good layout. However there was a problem with the batteries as the alarm sounded twice at 3 in the morning. We were able to find the inverter (as we are familiar marine systems) and turn off. Likely a weak battery.

The boat was poorly maintained and had mould due to standing water. It flooded when filled with freshwater. The batteries were weak which prevented the heating from being used unless the engine was started

This is the third time we have rented from Locaboat. The boat was clean and everything worked as expected. We will be renting from Locaboat again. There are a few things that I think should be included: a few extra rolls of toilet paper, dishwashing liquid and hand soap.

We had a wonderful trip. The boat was lovely. Staff were helpful. Really good value

We had a great two weeks on Yonne and adjacent canals. This was our 12th trip with Locaboat. Craft was in good condition, staff helpful and the weather cooperated. We'll be back.

Booking and main office staff helpful although trying to arrange for separate 1/4 fee invoicing to each of 4 couples required my repeated checking

Very helpful staff on ground in Lutzelbourg although irritating wait before I by-passed the over busy reception office and got a member of harbour crew to allow us to get on boat and load our luggage and food.
Some aspects of billing and insurance cover confusing and troubling as presented by welcome office.

Boat well equipped and in good order although one toilet very smelly on arrival aboard.

Many restaurants closed. Information needed.
More information about boulangeries and supermarket locations along the canal would be very helpful

The boat was well-appointed and the staff was friendly and helpful. We would have benefited a great deal from much more information on the river we were planning to navigate. The River Yonne is quite shallow if you move off the channel (which is just a dotted line on a paper map). Unlike canal boating, I had to monitor the depth meter at all times to avoid inadvertently running aground. You cannot moor on the shore of the river, so we had to find a pier for docking. However, all of the piers we passed were full of boats and the site we planned as an overnight destination was too shallow to approach. We ended up boating for over 8 hours and finally tied up to a moored boat with the permission of the owner. Not a relaxing vacation. We also could have used up to date information on the state of the river. The staff gave us the information they had—which was that there were no navigation issues on the river. However, there were issues. We did not know the river had flooded a few months before (learned this from a lock keeper). And most importantly that the dam by one of the locks had been breached—which meant very strong currents rushing across the entrance and a whirlpool to navigate. If we had known about the treacherous water we would have either gotten some specific instruction on how to navigate that kind of water, or more likely, taken a different route on a canal.

This was a great adventure for our group of 6 who had minimal experience with such a large motorboat. The boat was clean. A good orientation was provided by the staff. We interacted with the service department 3 times during our one week voyage and they responded quickly to address our concerns. We had a few issues with the bow thrusters and it would have been helpful to know at orientation that the switches in the forward starboard cabin were under the bed.
The bedding and towels provided were a bit tired and should be replaced. Overall, we would recommend Locaboat to those wishing to try a self driven boat tour of the River Lot.

The Lutzelbourg Staff was very helpful to us.

This was our first time on a canal boat so didn’t know what to expect but all seemed well organised to us and staff always responded quickly before and during our trip - and the trip didn’t go without its unusual experiences 🙈😊 on the good ship Mont et Marre. Four from Jersey 🇯🇪

Excellent service. The team was very responsive. I emailed several times prior to the trip, and got prompt answers every time. On pick-up day, the staff was competent and friendly.
The boat was in perfect condition and clean. Not much else we could have asked for.

Diesmal fiel die Reisezeit auf den 06.09. bis 16.09.2024. Übernahme des Boots E400 wie immer kurz, knapp und klar. Boot war sauber und gepflegt.
Kleinigkeiten waren Bettwäsche die Reisverschlüsse defekt und wie gehabt war eine Luke undicht. Wir waren aber darauf vorbereitet und hatten Material zum Abdichten dabei! Sonst funktionierten alle elektrischen Einrichtungen (diesmal war die Standheizung notwendig, da es nachts auf 6 Grad abgekühlt hat). Für Parkplatz waren nochmals 60 Euro fällig und für den Hund 50,- Euro an der Station Fürstenberg. Station Fleesensee ist dauerhaft geschlossen, wegen Personalmangel.
Die Routine führte uns über den Anleger "Alte Fähre" in Burgwall nahe dem Ziegelpark Mildenberg. Den man in 40 min per Wanderung erreichen kann.
Da das Restaurant wegen Personalmangel derzeit geschlossen ist, war ausreichend Platz um anzulegen und eine Nacht dort zu verbringen (Münzen für Dusche notwendig). Gepflegte Anlage mit Brötchenservice.
In der Nähe ist auch die Marina Alter Hafen Mildenberg was auch zum empfehlen ist. Ein Besuch beim Ziegelpark Mildenberg sollte man einplanen. Hier erfährt man die Geschichte über den Tonabbau aus der Gegend.
Die Zeiten an den Schleusen war aufgrund der Saison optimal (Selbstbedienungsschleusen).

Vom Anleger Alte Fähre ging es weiter zum Schlosshafen Oranienburg somit über Zehdenick, Liebenwalde auf den Oder Havel Kanal mit Binnenschifffahrsverkehr!! Hier haben die Güterschiffe Vorrang, was man bei der Schleuse Lehnitz deutlich zu spüren bekommt. Wartezeiten bis zu 4 Stunden sind möglich. Wir haben hinzu 2 und zurück 1 Stunde gewartet. Man muss aber auch berücksichtigen bzw. verstehen, dass jeder Schleusen- und Hebevorgang für die Scheitelhaltung einen Wasserverlust bedeutet. Da die Wasserbewirtschaftung hier von den Zuflüssen aus der Oberen Havel Wasserstraße und der Müritz Havel Wasserstraße abhängig ist. Der Anleger bei der Schleuse Lehnitz ist relativ kurz und daher liegt man im Paket oder verbotener Weise am Klinkerhafen!

Am Schlosshafen in Oranienburg Platz Nr. 3 für Gäste. Hier wurde alles mit Kartenautomat abgewickelt (Liegeplatz, Duschen). Gepflegte Anlage und sehr netter Hafenmeister. Der Hafen liegt sehr zentral und man kann fussläufig die Innenstadt und das naheliegende Schloss besuchen. Ebenso schnell zum Kaufland für Besorgungen oder direkt am Schlosshafen zum Netto.

Vom Schlosshafen Oranienburg war das Ziel der Yachthafen Potsdam (kurzer Weg zu den Schlössern). Also vorbei an Henningsdorf (Industriehafen) nach Berlin Tegelort weiter über Spandau zum Yachthafen Potsdam. Eine Route, die an Schlössern und prächtigen Villen (Wannsee) liegt. Da die Wetteraussichten für den nächsten Tag nicht optimal waren, sind wir nach kurzen Stopp um die Schlösser anzusehen weiter bis zum Anleger "Alte Schleuse Paretz" gefahren. Hier waren lediglich Münzen für den Strom notwendig, Dusche war im Liegeplatz inbegriffen. Gepflegt saubere Anlage. Abends wird das Tor zum Gelände abgeschlossen, man kann also nur tagsüber das Gelände verlassen.
Nach der schlecht Wetterfront sind wir über den Havel Kanal zurück gefahren und sind beim Niederneuendorfer See wieder auf den Oder Havel Kanal gestossen. Somit eine Rundreise, die uns nicht mehr über Potsdam, Spandau und Berlin geführt hat. Bei der Marina Havelbaude mit Brötchenservice haben wir angelegt und eine weitere Nacht verbracht (Münzen für Dusche). Netter Hafenmeister. Restaurant vor Ort.
Zurück haben wir dann in der Alten Marina Mildenberg angelegt. Alles top! Die Route haben wir am Anleger Himmelpfort ausklingen lassen (Münzen für Dusche) Strom im Liegeplatz inbegriffen. Kann man nur empfehlen. Wer nur nach Himmelpfort will, kann dort anlegen und zu Fuss den Ort erreichen. So erspart man sich die Schleuse und längere Wartezeiten, da die Schleuse nicht sehr lang ist. Drei Holzkisten und die Schleuse ist voll. Am nächsten Tag zurück nach Fürstenberg um dann die Übergabe für das Boot am Folgetag vorzubereiten. Übergabe war wie immer kurz, knapp und klar.
Alles in allem war es wieder eine sehr erholsame Reise mit sehenswerter Landschaft und Stille.

The nature the you can see during the trip, and the people you meet during the navigation.

Loved boating on Lot River. Scenery is magnificent. Plenty of places to eat and some good grocery shops in places. Our penichette flying bridge was fine for 6 adults.
We did find the boat had not been serviced thoroughly, with dirty dishes and some equipment missing. Be warned the detergent supply is minimal and linen supplies are as well especially if you are away 10 days as we were.

Staff operations and staff culture are great - flexible, easy to get along with, helpful. This is the third trip we've done with Locaboat - we obviously love the experience and freedom of travelling along French canals and rivers and French engineering, architecture and food are as good as it gets. Service levels are good - we had a plumbing issue that was fixed quickly and effectively. Downside is that the boats we've hired on the last two trips have been aging and pretty weary. Comfortable enough, but they are probably ready for retirement or refit with a few more onboard amenities.
