Unique experience

Very good experience with a lot of fun

The boat was clean and important equipment in a good condition. Nevertheless it was already old and some of the small and not important staff was not in the best condition.
The information was given perfectly and staff was very open and helpful

Almost a perfect trip!!

We had to rent from 2 bases due to the closure on Trebes. The boat from Bram was perfect and the people at the base were all wonderful. However, the longer experience with Angers Minervois was completely different. The boat was extremely old and d
badly maintained with several loose parts (seat on flying bridge, seat on the pilot station inside, throttle on the flying bridge barely operational, closure from the flying bridge to inside the boat was barely operational requiring extreme force to be opened and closed) additionally, we had to problems. One the turbine of the water pump destroyed itself and we needed to sleep on the wild until being rescued the next morning. Wonderful experience with a very nice mechanic. However, we lost a full day of cruising. We also had another problem with an under water huge piece of Bimini cover that got caught by the propeller. Again, we’re able to stop and sleep in the wild. Next day we had the visit of another excellent and very friendly mechanic that was able to remove the fabric. Unfortunately, we lost another day.
The worst experience was when we returned to the base in Argens. We did sleep there and were supposed to return the boat next day. The contract states 9:00AM. However, we were running a bit late and requested some lenience. The manager of the base come in and was extremely rude and disrespectful. He increased the tone of his voice as well. This individual hates people mainly foreigners. His attitude was very similar to the Neo Nazis. We also saw several interactions with other employees that was deplorable to witness. This individual should not work in the industry you are in.

Drama free charter.

The marina and boat was easy to access at Lattes. Locaboat staff were friendly & helpful. I chartered the Pénichette Evolution 950E Hybrid, it had an excellent layout and was very comfortable. Had a problem with the sink, a staff engineer came same day and sortred it out. No drama. Great cruising route. A straightforward trouble free holiday.

Gebuchtes Boot nicht mehr zur Verfügung!

Wir haben im Herbst 2024 Penichette Terrasse gebucht, bestätigt und vorbezahlt für Sommer 2025. Jetzt im Februar meldet Locaboat lapidar, dass diese Boote aus dem Verkehr kommen!! Nun stehen wir da, mit unbrauchbaren Ersatzangeboten. Wir haben die Buchung nun annulliert. Wir vermuten, dass Locaboat diese Boote als Occasion verkauft und uns dafür die ganzen Ferien versaut hat. Dieses Vorgehen von Locaboat ist skandalös und abstossend.

Wir haben Verständnis für Ihre Stornierung und die Ablehnung eines Upgrades auf eine andere Bootsklasse. Wir hoffen, Sie bei weiteren Abenteuern auf dem Wasser an Bord unserer Pénichettes wiederzusehen.

Locaboat France Carmague/Canal du midi

Boat was in good condition, everything in good working order and well designed, and mostly well appointed (although a cork screw - afterall we are in France!, pot lid's and toasting device would be good!)
Locaboat staff were friendly, helpful and informative.
A couple of suggestions: It would make skippering easier if there was instrumentation that shows where the rudder is positioned. Also a gauge on how much fresh water you have left/in tank would assist in planning.
The initial briefing did take some time as a group had arrived just before us, so had to wait for the 1 staff member to brief/check them in before we could start, so this meant we were only just able to make it out of the first lock and not able to cruise to any other towns on the first afternoon.

Was a Wonderful experience Boating…

Was a Wonderful experience Boating through the French countryside.

Local personnel were helpful with details of the boat. However when booking, it would have been helpful to know more about the different routes and what sights to see. Just a couple weeks before I queried Locaboat about the route I wanted to take only to find out that a portion of the canal would be closed that time of the year. At booking it would be very helpful to have the booking agent provide the details of each route so people would have time to plan their trip.

The website is a little difficult to navigate and should have sample itineraries available to review. I only got these itineraries after several emails and only 2 weeks before our journey.
It was still a very amazing experience and was a long time adventure I am glad I took.

A French farce.

Assistance and communication were nonexistent, boat and itinerary were changed, boat had multiple problems.
Although the issues were acknowledged and some compensation was provided, the overall experience was unpleasant.

Gefährliche Mängel und teures Boot Leider hatten wir zur teuersten Zeit…

Leider hatten wir zur teuersten Zeit eine Penichette in Loosdrecht gemietet. Das Boot war technisch nicht in Ordnung und nicht vernünftig gesäubert. Z.B. Socken der Vormieter unter den Polstern, Wasserhahn in der Küche konnte abgenommen werden, die Hecktür musste von uns! repariert werden, damit wir sie nutzen konnten.
Dann Motorausfall auf den Amsterdam-Rijn- Kanal- eine sehr gefährliche Situation für uns. Die Mängeliste und fehlende Sicherheiten umfasste drei Seiten. Die Stellungnahme von Locaboat war dilettantisch, die Rückerstattung zu gering. Wir waren über Jahre Stammkunden. Wir werden aus diesen Gründen nie wieder dort mieten. Für uns war es nur Abkassieren seitens der Firma.

God customer service

The cordiality of the staff. We were one of the last customers for the season so they might as well have ignored us but we were well cared for and we had a great experience.

Felt rushed during orientation

Felt rushed during orientation
Boat was in less than good shape and not clean when we picked it up
Bilge pump turned off so accumulating smell was overwhelming til we got it fixed days later
Thrusters make trip more enjoyable-we didn’t have them do driving was a bit of a challenge

Boat in poor condition, sub-standard service

Boat in poor condition, many spiders and stink-bugs on the inside. Reception and greeting very standard, not very friendly but most importantly not much advice about where one should go and what to avoid - basically a lack of interest in the client.

We'll definitely use Locaboat again

Locaboat were great. We were very happy with the entire experience, from booking, arrival and pre-departure briefing, right through to the handover at the end....very smooth process and a very professional operation.

The boat was easy to operate and because we were a late season booking, the heater definitely came in handy!
